This is so disheartening, the calibre of people we have Lording over hardworking Nigerians. These are the same set of people saying Nigerian youths are unemployable angry
Go to twitter and see your fellow Obidients insulting PBAT for appointing a 400lvl economics undergraduate on the presidential committee on tax reforms...
You Obidients cannot be pleased.

I agree with you 100% that Awolowo was probably the most cerebral of the trio of Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello and Awolowo. His only problem, which was his greatest undoing, was his tribalistic tendencies.

I don’t think anyone having the mentality of Yoruba First, Nigeria second, is someone worth celebrating or handing Nigeria over to.
What tribalistic tendency did Awolowo have?
Not wanting an Igbo man to be premier of the West when there's already an Igbo premier of the East is such a bad thing?

Charity begins at home.
He used the revenues from the export of cocoa to develop Western Nigeria, launched the first TV network in West Africa, built the Cocoa House and Western House and provided free education for his people and scholarships for studies in universities in America and Europe.

What did the Igbo political leaders achieve with palm oil?

Photos:
Cocoa House, was completed in July 1964 and commissioned in July 1965. At a height of 105 metres, it was the first skyscraper in West Africa and was, from 1965 to 1979, the tallest building in Nigeria.
It is located in Dugbe, a major commercial area in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. It was built from proceeds of agricultural commodities (e.g., Cocoa, Rubber, Timber) of the then Western State of Nigeria.
The iconic Western House is a 20-storey office complex in the Lagos Island Central Business District (CBD).
Western House is home to the Corporate Headquarters of Wemabod Limited. It is a landmark structure and the first skyscraper to be constructed in Lagos Island. The building has a total of about 13,000m2 of lettable space.
Did you know that when the British wanted to ban the explort of cocoa, Zik used his newspaper to justify it knowing fully well that stopping export of cocoa was detrimental to the SW?

Awolowo!

The first Nigerian tribalist.

Azikiwe’s party won majority in Western Nigeria which would have seen Azikiwe become the Premier of Western Nigeria. Awolowo went to all the Yoruba people that won election under Azikiwe’s NCNC and told them “Yoruba Ronu”. And that was how all of them defected from NCNC to Awolowo’s AG a night before inauguration which gave Awolowo’s party the majority and thereby helping him become Premier.

Again, when Benin and Delta was still part of Western Nigeria, Awolowo wanted to force Yoruba as Lingua Franca for the entire subregion even though the Binis and Deltans had their own languages.

Till this day, there’s no legacy project that can be attributed to Awolowo in Benin and Delta when they were part of Western Region. But Michael Okpara built the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt and also the Trans Amadi Industrial cluster in Port Harcourt when Rivers was still part of Eastern Region.

Awolowo was the most divisive character Nigeria has ever had. He’s the one that Tinubu learned from and is trying to even outdo.

Our fathers were right to reject him as president.
No matter how long you repeat this lie, it still won't become true.
PoliticsThe Story Of The Man Traveling With His Son And Donkey by Perfectbeing(op):
Once upon a time, there was a man who decided to travel from his village to the nearby town with his son, accompanied by their donkey.

As they started their journey, they came across a group of villagers. One of them chuckled and said, "Look at those fools! They have a perfectly good horse, but both the man and the boy are walking. What a waste!" The man overheard the comment and felt embarrassed. He did not want to be seen as wasting a resource, so he decided to take the advice and carried his son on the horse while he walked alongside.

As they continued on their journey, they reached another village. This time, the villagers, especially the men, expressed their disapproval, saying, "What kind of son ride a horse while his old father walks? That's so unfair!" The man felt guilty hearing this and decided to switch positions. He thought it would be better if he rode the horse, ensuring his son would not be unfairly treated.

As they approached the next town, they encountered a group of passersby who criticized them, saying, "That lazy father is riding the horse while his young son walks. How selfish!" The man and his son heard these remarks and felt ashamed. They didn't want to hurt anyone's sentiments, so they thought of a different approach.

As they entered the town, they noticed some travelers also criticizing the way they were traveling. The townspeople commented, "Look at them! They both carried their heavy weight on their poor horse. How wicked they are, ensuring their horse is overburdened!"

The man and his son realized that no matter what they did, there would always be critics. So, they decided to follow their own judgment and not worry about pleasing others.

Nigerians, especially the Obidients complained that chances and opportunities are not being given to the youths in politics and Governance.

Tinubu listened to them and appointed a young beautiful girl as a member in the Presidential tax and fiscal reform committee and yet they complain that she has no experience. These were the same people that tried to sell GRV, someone without any experience whatsoever in managing anything. How only experience is graduating from MIT. He can't even present a building plan of village hut that he has clrawn as an architect. Yet the Obidients want him to manage the 5th largest economy in Africa.

If Tinubu had appointed a 70 years old professor of economics, these same Obidients would have said PBAT isn't given the youths a chance..

The moral of the story is that we should not allow the judgments and opinions of others to dictate our actions. No matter what we do, there will always be critics. Therefore, it is best to make decisions based on what feels right and be true to ourselves.

If he had appointed a 70 years old professor Obidients will still complain.

What Right has ECOWAS and NIGERIA to dictate the type of Government in any country?

If Niger wants to be Monarchical or military or theocracy or whatever, it's their prerogative... NOT ECOWAS.. NOT NIGERIA!!

Nigeria and Ecowas are MEDDLESOME INTERLOPERS.

Paul Biya has been democratic president of Cameroon for over 40 years and still counting.. Heaven didn't Fall.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, China etc are peacefully prosperous WITHOUT DEMOCRACY.

AM 200% sure that Tinubu and Ecowas would be disgraced and defeated in this misadventure. What Boko Haram did to Nigeria Military is child play compared to what is coming.

ECOWAS is removing the coup plotters and restoring Democracy back anyway possible.
If Niger citizens want soldiers, let the soldiers take off their uniforms and win an election to govern them as civilians.

It's not while ECOWAS is under Nigeria's leadership that one man o war boy will execute a coup..

If he's 100% sure that all Niger wants the coup, let him remove his camo and contest in an election like a real man.

Never heard them have a loud opinion of who should rule those States.

As their kinsmen continue to pour in their millions into the South West, their political elites based in the Southwest are aggressively lobbying lawmakers across Nigeria to ban state of origin and replace it with state of residence and you think this people want Biafra or they mean well for indigenous people in the SW Nigeria?

As they move in their millions into your spaces, they want the same rights as the indigenous people of those places. They mastered the act of propaganda and victimhood. Anybody who calls out their evil agenda is tagged a tribalist, a big:ot, a hater or they hide under patriotism.

A lot of Yoruba politicians have fallen deep into this propaganda. They don't even want to associate with those of you calling out this evil invasion that is happening in your region. When the shit hits the fan, your politicians will start running Helter skelter shouting Yoruba Ronu.😂

It is madness to accommodate people who preach constant hatred against the indigenous people of a space. The core North and we in the South South will never accept this nonsense. SW should are playing with fire.

You don't know anything. If Tinubu thinks he is courageous let him wage war on Niger republic. I'm happy the military leaders of that country has refused to back down, so when the ridiculous ultimatum given by Tinubu expires, I will like to see him roll out tanks heading towards Niamey. If he fails to do that, then he is a FOOL.

The war will eventually become Northern Nigeria and Niger republic vs Tinubu's army.

Modern warfare has changed. It now involves the use of small flying suicide drone which is cheap compare to missiles. Niger does not have the infrastructure we have. An attack on us using these deadly drone would affect us.
And do you even know the sanctions will cause mass migration to Nigeria too?

There's nothing Niger can do to Nigeria. Dead that idea
