Sports / Meet The Person Behind Man U Twitter Handle That Welcomed Dj Cuppy Aboard by PerfectJUSTICE: 4:34pm On Jun 29, 2020
Dj Cuppy, a Nigerian Disc Jockey and music star, who is also the daughter of the Nigerian Business Tycoon cum Billionaire, Femi Otedola, from the Otedola dynasty is now a Manchester United fan. The female music crooner and lover of physical hedonism, joined Manchester United, following her formal announcement to tear her fan membership card with Arsenal. Cuppy, who was disappointed by Arsenal loss to Brighton on a 2-1 match on Saturday, 21 June, could not contend her emotions, but went ahead to denounce her membership, and hoped to move to Manchester United, if the table rotates in favour of the red devils.

Following her resignation, many fans reacted, both in sadness and joy, but the Nigerian big girl, did not care about her fans feeling, thus, kept hands crossed, waiting for Manchester, because of her zest for soccer games.

Yesterday, turned out to be positive, when the table rotated in her favour, as her newly found team, made a great fit. Norwich United hosted Manchester United on a Premier league match, the match, which ended on a 1-1 draw on a full time calculation, threw Manchester fans into a state of disarray. The match was further rescheduled for a thirty- minute extra time, which saw Manchester into victory, following Maguire's magic goal in second half, extra time.

Captain Harry Maguire scored a late extra-time winner to secure Manchester United 's place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 victory at Norwich City .

United forward Odion Ighalo and Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell scored with their respective sides' first shots on target as an entertaining second half followed a forgettable first.

This drew out the joy in every fan's heart, including the players, team management and the social media managers. It was on this note because of heavy joy, that made the Twitter media manager to react to DJ Cuppy announcement into the team, with a welcome note, "Welcome aboard."

Ever since then, Nigerians have been reacting and wondering, who is behind Manchester United Social Media accounts. Some tweet replies had it that the person behind the Twitter account of the Team is a Nigerian, and has known Cuppy before. But, after my thorough survey, found it to be the other way round.

Mett the person behind Manchester United Twitter and Social Media handles, that also Welcomed Dj Cuppy into Manchester United.

Nicola Turner is her name, Turner is the social media manager of the Manchester United football club. She resumed work as the social media manager of the football team in 2018- date, with a whopping £500,000.00 annual net salary. She had worked with several other big companies before she joined Manchester United in 2013.

She had worked with the:

1. British Judo Association, as Public Relations Officer, between 2009- 2011.

2. British Olympic Association, as Media Assistant, 2012-2012 (two months).

3. British Athletics, as Social Media Officer, 2011-2013.

4. She joined Manchester United in 2013, and had served so many roles like:

A. Social Media Contributing Editor, 2013-2016.

B. Social Media Editor, 2016 - 2018.

C. Social Media Manager, 2018- date.

She is a graduate with Bachelor of Arts in Sport Development with Advertising, from the University of Chester, England, United Kingdom, 2005-2008.

Turner is a sports enthusiast with focus to promoting her team in social media. Unfortunately, she is only in one social media platform, and has been reacting to every post concerning Manchester United, which also made her to react to Cuppy, through the team's page.

Nicola Turner is not on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, she is only managing those accounts for her team, but her private account is in American Professional Social Media platform.

Religion / See What Was Seen Inside A Church That Was Reopened (pictures) by PerfectJUSTICE: 7:33am On Jun 28, 2020
As people are clamouring for the opening of some public places with hopes of maintaining social distancing when appearing in public, some people are putting up things to help people to maintain that distance. A church in other to help it's congregation maintain social distance when they attend the church decided to use paper and tapes to demarcate their pews. What got people laughing was that instead of writing things like 'stay on the next seat', 'do not sit here', they used bible verses to pass their informations.

This is a welcome approach in order to help remind people of where and how they should sit, and not put themselves in harm's way. Many people reacted to creative style adopted by the church. We know how people tend to act when a bible verse is included into any sentence, it just feels like you are already caught up.

How do you feel about this creativity act by the church to remain people of what to do?, because no one after reading that can still sit were they are not meant to. You can like, share and drop your comments.

Crime / If Okeke Could Go Down, Who Is Hushpuppi To Remain Afloat by PerfectJUSTICE: 11:55am On Jun 26, 2020
As much as Nigerians may like/hate to admit it, billionaire Instagram celebrity, Hushpuppi is just on the verge of obtaining stiff penalties which could lead to years of incarceration. The philanthropic geezer who was allegedly arrested in Dubai on June 10th alongside twelve accomplices by the Dubai police connected to various fraudulent acts worldwide.

Comparing his detention status with that of Obiwanne Okeke, let's see what chances he has of survival.

From Forbes to FBI, Obiwanne Okeke who is the CEO of Invictus Group was arrested, over alleged $11 million fraud in the US. The Forbes Africa acclaimed under 30 entrepreneur defrauded Unatrac Holding Limited & this led to the permanent forfeiture of his N280,555,010 to the FG of Nigeria.

Despite his initial denial that he did defraud any American citizen or company, Obi still pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him afterwards. According to the US Justice system, he now faces a maximum penalty of 22 years when he will be sentenced on October 22nd.

On the other hand, Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai for scams amounting up to $435 million(160B Naira). A video released recently revealed that he and his team of scammers were known for creating fake pages for existing websites to redirect victims payments to their accounts.

Dubai police also found out that the gang specialized in hacking corporate emails and sending fake messages to clients to redirect financial transfers and people's bank details to their accounts.

Since Abbas's arrest in the UAE, senior detectives in Nigeria & the US, particularly the FBI have been trying to get hold of him.

If the FBI succeeds in bringing him to their custody, the dream of Hushpuppi getting back on his feet soon could just be a nightmare. The chances of him surviving the charges to be brought against him will be almost impossible as the evidence the Dubai police now holds against him could refute such claims in seconds.

No one knows what went on behind the scenes of Obi's trial, but for him to plead guilty after denying charges sends a bad omen. And if he could bag a maximum of 20 years imprisonment for just $11 million, what should we expect for Hushpuppi believed to have defrauded over $435 million(160 billion Naira)?

Besides Obiwanne was convicted and charged for defrauding only one company, unlike Hushpuppi who is believed now to have defrauded multiple citizens & companies, including the US government.

Although the fate Hushpuppi hasn't been completely decided, the chances that he can get out of this alive are far less than he would.

TV/Movies / The Deadliest Movie Ever Made That Leaves It's Viewers Cursed And Traumatized by PerfectJUSTICE: 5:12pm On May 18, 2020
Did you know that there is a horror movie titled “Antrom” released in 1970s.This movie was shot in English but of apparently Soviet origin is submitted for inclusion in a variety of film festivals; none accepted it. Shortly after each rejection, the various festival directors were left traumatized under suspicious circumstances. Several years go by during which the film remains unseen until it mysteriously appears at a theater in Budapest in 1988.

During the screening, a fire breaks out, burning the theater to the ground; initially believed to be the result of a faulty projector, investigators later determine that audience members set the fire themselves. The film again goes unseen for many years until it is screened in a theater in California in 1993. Prior to the film, a concession stand worker doses popcorn with LSD; the combination of the drug and the film results in a riot during which a pregnant woman is killed. Following this screening, all copies of the film apparently vanish, and it earns a reputation as being cursed.

In 2018, a copy of Antrum surfaces, prompting a documentary crew to make a short film on its history and impact. Although the origins of the movie remain unknown, scientists and film experts who examine the 35 mm reel determine that, among other unique properties, the film utilizes disorienting sounds and subliminal imagery.

The documentary crew further determines that unrelated, black-and-white snippets of film have been spliced into the original movie by a third party. The documentary pauses so that Antrum may be presented in its entirety for the first time in twenty-five years.

The movie was directed by David Amito and Michael Laicini.

Starring Nicole Tompkins, Rowan Smyth, Dan Istrate, Circus-Szalewski, and Shu Sakimoto.

Anyone who watches the movie becomes cursed and traumatized after the movie.

56 people were traumatized after watching the movie and the movie was later banned, but now brought back.

Health / Coronavirus: 20 Countries Yet To Record Any Case by PerfectJUSTICE: 10:57pm On Mar 28, 2020
Despite not having a single case, preventive measures have been put in place by these to ensure the virus does not spread to them.

There are seven continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, North America, South America, and Antarctica. Antarctica is least inhabited with a population of between 1,000 and 5,000 depending on season. There is no reported case of the virus there so far.

AFRICA

According to worldometer, which gives real time statistics on the outbreak, in Africa, as Friday afternoon, eight countries have not recorded a single case while 46 have confirmed cases. There are more than 2700 confirmed cases in Africa, 75 deaths, and 208 recoveries.

The eight countries are Botswana, Burundi, Lesotho, Malawi, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, and South Sudan. Notwithstanding their zero cases, they have put in place safety precautions to ensure their preparedness in fighting the virus.

Botswana started its preparation for a lockdown. Botswanan president, Mokgwetsi Lasisi, reportedly said, “Please prepare yourselves for the imminent lockdown. Our experts, led by Dr Masupu with Prof Alexandra advises us to restrict the movement of people so we are better able to trace and treat any case that occurs”.

Burundi has suspended all international flights; Lesotho has placed restrictions on movements from the midnight of March 29 to April 21. Non-essential travels are prohibited

Malawi has in place a national contingency plan to prepare and prevent the virus. So far, the government of Malawi has released $3.2 million for the immediate expenditures. The plan is to secure almost $20 million.

The expenditure involves, “awareness campaigns, training of local authorities, media and health staff, redeploying of health personnel in all border posts, suspension of hosting international meetings, suspension of schools, and institutional quarantine and suspension of visas to citizens of countries that have been hit by Covid-19.”

In Portuguese-speaking Sao Tome and Principe, a state of emergency was declared on March 17.
Sierra Leone has declared a 12-month state of public health emergency which took effect on March 24. Overseas travel has been banned for government officials. A ban was placed on public gatherings of more than 100 persons.
South Sudan, due to fears of the pandemic, has gone into lockdown.

ASIA
In Asia, North Korea, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Yemen are yet to report cases although preventive measures have been put in place.
Yemen, where conflicts continue to brew, has been warned by the UN chief to put in place adequate contingency measures.

“This is an evolving situation, one that requires cautions and level headedness regarding the health and well-being of staff, partners and Yemeni communities,” the resident representative said. A ceasefire is needed to combat Covid-19, the secretary-general added.

EUROPE
All countries and territories in Europe have confirmed cases. In Europe, there is a more than 247,667 and 13,895 deaths, Italy is the epicenter of the virus in Europe with 80,589 confirmed cases, followed by Spain 57,786.

Politics / We Can’t Afford A Repeat Of Yar’adua/Jonathan Era Now- Northerners by PerfectJUSTICE: 11:44pm On Mar 25, 2020
Mr. Gimba Kakanda, a Popular writer and Political analyst has declared that Nigeria can not afford a repeat of Late President Umaru Yar’adua and Goodluck Jonathan situation in 2010.

Late Yar’adua died on the 5th of May 2010 after a prolonged ailment and was buried the next day. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was his Vice constitutionally assumed the position of the President.

For some reasons best known to him, Gimba Kakanda few hours ago on his Twitter page attacked the Vice President and called on everyone to protect President Buhari.

Gimba said: “Protect the President by all means. We can’t afford a repeat of the Yar’adua era in this critical time.

The potential replacements are a breed of vultures I wouldn’t want to see in charge of Nigeria. And now isn’t the time to flee the country.”

This definitely did not go down well with many Nigerians, as they felt Gimba Kakanda spewed that out of his hatred for southerners because he is well known for always criticizing President Buhari.

Politics / Buhari Vs Osinbajo: How Nigerian VP Violated The Greatest Law Of Power by PerfectJUSTICE: 11:06pm On Mar 25, 2020
How did he get here? How did a seemingly beloved deputy slide from being the darling of his master into constituting a political nuisance that must be checked, caged and cast aside? How did he morph from being “the anointed one” into a dispensable sacrificial lamb now fit only for the day of slaughter?

What happened to the "bromance" between Yemi Osinbajo and Muhammadu Buhari? What went wrong with the reliable deputy whom Nigerians came to reckon with in the fluctuating face of an absentee principal?

Barely six months ago, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo touted the love that would never be lost, it seems, between himself and President Buhari.

“The President has taken me as a son in the way he treats me,” Osinbajo said during a visit to Buhari’s home state of Katsina while the boss was seeing doctors abroad.

“The amount of responsibilities President Buhari has given me shows he seriously believes we can live together as brothers,” he said.

That was in May, 2019. Osinbajo echoed the same sentiment in 2017 when the president spent over 100 days on a sick bed in the UK. Before embarking on that medical trip, Buhari temporarily handed power over to his deputy as stipulated by the constitution. But things do not appear to be as rosy at the moment between “father and son”.

Rift or not?

In case you didn’t get the memo, the president is currently on a “private” (read “medical”) visit to London and has refused to put Osinbajo in charge. To silence his critics, or “wailers” as they have come to be identified, Buhari’s hailers defended the move by arguing that the Nigerian president could rule the country from anywhere in the world.

Forget the fact that the presidency has denied any reported rift between Buhari and his official Number Two. But remember the words of the former minister president of Prussia and chancellor of the then German Empire, Otto von Bismarck, who admonished his audience to “never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied”.

There’s no rift, there’s no rift. But Buhari’s chief-of-staff Abba Kyari, the apparent unofficial Number Two, flew all the way to London to present the Deep Offshore (and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract) Bill to Buhari who then signed it into law.

All is well in Aso Rock but Buhari fired dozens of Osinbajo’s aides. And after the vice president’s spokesperson dismissed the reports as “fake news”, the presidency issued a statement to the contrary!

Osinbajo still presides over the National Economic Council (NEC) but Buhari has constituted his own Economic Advisory Council. The vice president has also been taken off the administration’s legacy social investment programmes. One of such programmes, “N-Power”, is now reported to have been riddled with massive corruption under Osinbajo’s watch. The president has also instructed his deputy not to make any move without approval from “the oga at the top”.

And there are subtle calls for the former law professor to resign.

Where did Osinbajo go wrong?

It is sensible, but also convenient, to solely link Osinbajo’s travails to the tussle for 2023. There isn’t a way to isolate the vice president’s troubles from Nigeria’s next election year without appearing ignorant. But there is another variable we need to consider.

Two years ago, the consensus on the street was that Buhari may have already anointed Osinbajo to consolidate his legacy. But everything happening in Abuja right now indicates the president may be looking elsewhere for a successor.

And it could be that Osinbajo’s better-than-Buhari “oversabi” fuelled the present impasse.

“To whom much is given, much is expected.” That mantra applies to life outside of Nigeria’s political arena – a space in which increasing responsibility must, unfortunately, be reciprocated by bungling impassivity, and especially when the luminosity of a superior is at stake.

Robert Green, in his 1998 book titled “The 48 Laws of Power”, warns fellow humans to “never outshine the master”.

“Always make those above you feel comfortably superior,” the author advises in the bestseller. “In your desire to please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite – inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.”

It seems Osinbajo’s failure to follow this admonition will rob the vice president of a chance to become president.

Who does it better?

Although Buhari was the former military dictator whom Nigerians expected to be firm in the matters of the state, it was “bloody civilian” Osinbajo who pulled his weight when an important security agency trampled on democracy.

Buhari failed to fire the former inspector-general of police Ibrahim Idris whom he openly accused of disobeying a direct order. He instead eased him out office after his tenure expired. Osinbajo, on the other hand, fired DSS chief Lawal Daura after the inglorious invasion of the national assembly, and with Buhari on medical tourism to the UK.

The vice president looked strong, and at the expense of Buhari’s spine. He outdid the master, essentially breaking the first and the most important law of power.

On the delicate issue of Biafra, Osinbajo maintained the hard line “one Nigeria” mantra but with a soft touch. In a speech he delivered in Abuja in 2017 ahead of the 50th anniversary of a the country’s bloody civil war, Osinbajo called Biafra agitators “brothers and sisters” and asked for their permission “to differ and to suggest that we're greater together than apart.” That rhetoric clearly contrasted Buhari’s decision to unleash the military’s “Operation Python Dance” on the secessionists.

President Buhari was the one claiming to be a repentant democrat. But Osinbajo showed the world that he was never a dictator.

On the several occasions that the president was away, Osinbajo would tour markets in Abuja, trade soothing touches and infectious smiles with everyday Nigerians creating the impression, even if unwittingly, that he was more human than Number One.

Osinbajo was a breath of fresh air for many Nigerians who took Buhari for a source of their hopelessness. And, now, the vice president’s political aspiration struggles for air with the presidential cabal zooming in for blood.

What now?

First of all, Mr Vice President needs to stop whatever he is doing right now and go read “The 48 Laws of Power” again. I don't want to believe he hasn't done that before. Read it again!

Also, Osinbajo must disregard the words of those pressuring him to step aside. The office of the Vice President presently shields him from whatever charges of corruption anyone may want to bring against him. Osinbajo must hold on to this immunity so he can successfully launch his presidential ambition, if he nurtures any, without having to look over his shoulders for Magu's boys from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Crime / Remembering Otokoto, The Greatest Money Ritualist Of All Times In Igboland by PerfectJUSTICE: 1:23pm On Feb 08, 2020
If you're Igbo and born before the millennium, you'd definitely know about the untold story of Chief Vincent Duru, alias, Otokoto who was infamous for ritual killings. His son Obidiozor Duru then was the kingpin of the notorious Black Secret Cult that was responsible for sporadic robberies and abduction of children within Owerri, Imo State. In fact, following rumours of the nefarious activities of the Otokoto family, Owerri residents subjected the Otokotos under the radar and surveillance.

It is said there's no smoke without fire. Also, when the wind blows, the ruff of the fowl is exposed. On the 19th of September, 1996, Otokoto was incriminated. His dirty linens were washed outside, his exotic hotels, 'Otokoto hotels' were razed down. He was incarcerated and later executed 20 years after indictment.

Who Implicated Him?

It all happened in the capital city of Owerri, Imo State on the 19th of September, 1996 when an 11-year-old innocent boy named Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo was murdered for ritual.

The young boy was a groundnut hawker who frequented the streets of Owerri to sale his wares. On that fateful day, he was walking past Otokoto hotels, when a man identified as Innocent Ekeanyanwu at Otokoto hotels, aged 32, beckoned on him to come.

Unsuspectingly, the young lad excitedly went into the hotel to sell his wares and was treated like a guest. He was given a bottle of chilled Coca-Cola which he chugged down with relish. Sadly, the drink was spiked and soon, poor Ikechukwu slipped into everlasting unconsciousness.

Ekeanyanwu then carried the limp body of Ikechukwu into one of the hotel rooms and what follows after is what both the gods and human beings forbid. He decapitated the boy's head, ripped open his abdomen, harvested his liver, and cropped off his penile tip. He selected other organs he needed and stacked them together in a polythene bag and buried his remains in a shallow grave near the hotel.

HOW PEOPLE GOT TO KNOW

After burying the ill-fated lad, he immediately left the hotel to deliver the head to a big cat, named Chief Leonard Unaogu at Eziama, Ikeduru, near Owerri. Blood was still oozing from the bag when he alighted which stirred the suspicion of the Okada man identified as Mr Hilary Ngọzi Opara. Ekeanyanwu could not deposit the head as Chief Unaogu had already left the town for Lagos. Remember the year was 1996 and there was no mobile phones. He had to go back to Owerri with the head. The bikeman quickly tipped the policemen and they intercepted Ekeanyanwu on his way back to Owerri in a Peugeot 505. Hell was let loose when the news spread. The media even fueled it as they beamed live Ekeanyanwu carrying the fresh head of little Ikechukwu.

The poeple of Owerri went berserk when they beheld the gory sight. They all trooped out in their numbers to Otokoto hotel for protest. The hotel buildings were razed down completely. They equally marched to the palatial mansion of Otokoto nearby and destroyed his expensive cars and choiced properties. The unstoppable rioters equally went round destroying other properties linked to Otokoto, even those of his friends.

FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS

Ekeanyanwu who was later identified as a gardener in Otokoto hotel was remanded in prison. Surprisingly, he died four days later from food poisoning. Luckily before he croaked, he was able to confess. He implicated Chief Unaogu as the mastermind behind the brutal killing of Ikechukwu. In fact, they ran a killing syndicate which specialised in kidnapping and harvesting of human organs for rituals. According to him, Chief Unaogu had directed him to get the human head. He further confessed that the Otokoto and his gang had been in the business as far back as 1970's. The guests at his hotel were not spared too. They were drugged or attacked in the middle of their sleep after which they were dismembered and their organs plucked.

The police swung quickly into action and discovered tens of shallow graves. More than 24 decomposing and dismembered bodies of human beings were exhumed. Chief Unaogu was immediately arrested but he blatantly denied knowing whom Ekeanyanwu was. He was the junior brother of Laz Unaogu, a then serving minister under General Sani Abacha.

TRIALS AND JUDGEMENT

Trial properly commenced on the 9th of December, 1996 with the Okada man, Ngọzi Hilary Opara as the first prosecution witness. Other witnesses came up which include: Ambrose Onah, a police sergeant who recorded the confessional statement of Ekeanyanwu before he was mysteriously killed, Margaret Acholonu, a receptionist in the hotel who confessed that Chief Vincent Duru was actually in the hotel the day poor Ikechukwu was beheaded. Another police sergeant, Sunday Onwuchekwa told the court that Ekeanyanwu had lied about the crime scene. According to Onwuchekwa, Ekeanyanwu had told them he executed poor Ikechukwu and dumped his dead body inside Mba River near Owerri just to mask the actual crime scene. The police was deceived at first with the false trail before information reached them about the commotion at Otokoto hotel.

It was even reported that Chief Vincent Duru had shouted at Ekeanyanwu during the course of the investigation before he was murdered. Otokoto screamed at him in Igbo, 'I mebo la m?' meaning 'Have you implicated me?'

The distraught mother of the poor lad, Laeticia Okoronkwo, Sulaiman Idris Ibe, the police officer on seat when Hilary Opara the Okada man came to testify, another police photographer and Ralph Nwaiwu, the doctor that performed autopsy on poor Ikechukwu all testified in court.

The case snailed on without progress for three years as there were series of adjournments, absence of presiding judges and lawyers even to the transfer and retirement of judges. There were reports about the preferential treatment given to Chief Unaogu because he was the Minister's brother. The case was stalled until Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme, a powerful and fearless judge, took over the case on 28th April, 1999.

She sentenced the seven suspects linked to the murder to death. Their names were:

Chief Vincent Duru (Otokoto), Alban Ajaegbu, Samson Nnamito, Ebenezer Egwueke, Lawrence Ebu, Rufus Anyanwu and Chief Leonard Unaogu.

In fact, while delivering her judgement, Justice Nwosu-Iheme referred Otokoto and Unaogu as a hardened and unrepentant murderer and a highly-sophisticated criminal respectively. She said that the blood of poor Ikechukwu must be a very strong and powerful one that screamed to God in high heavens for vengeance.

After her epic judgement, all the convicts were ferried to Port Harcourt Prissons in February, 2003 pending their execution. Their lawyers kept on appealing the judgement which was futiles as the sentence of execution was still upheld.

Finally twenty years after the inglorious saga, Otokoto was hanged. His execution took place on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Chief Unaogu on his part died in Port Harcourt prisons in very mysterious circumstances.

LESSONS

Evil is evil and no evil would go impunity as what goes around, comes around. Just work hard and believe in yourself and legitimate hustle. Forget about the get-rich-quick syndrome. Be careful. Say no to social vices such as human ritual killings, blood money, kidnapping and short-cut to wealth. Hardwork pays. Every cloud has a silver lining. May God almighty keep us and deliver us from evil.

Crime / How Derico Nwamama Became The Most Notorious Armed Robber In Eastern Nigeria by PerfectJUSTICE: 12:15pm On Feb 08, 2020
Okwudili Ndiwe, a 22-year old boy, also popularly known as ‘Derico Nwamama’, rose from being just a normal street miscreant to become the leader of a hard-hearted robbery gang that was identified with bloodsheds and flagrant violations for the rule of law.

As Derico notoriety spread like wildfire among traders, they could hardly go about business or display their goods because cries of ‘Derico’ would rent the air and another chaotic chapter of people losing their livelihoods and lives beacons.
Many residences could only sleep with only one eye closed because Derico knew no night or day. At just 22, Derico's thirst for blood struck fear in the hearts of the people of Anambra.

Robbery Operations
Derico and his gang waylaid luxurious inter-state buses ferrying over 60 passengers and robbed them dry of their belongings.

In December 2000, it was reported that Derico attacked a 59-seater bus at the popular Upper Iweka road, after robbing these innocent passengers, they attempted to kill all the passengers, but only four people were lucky to have survived the massacre.

With no shroud of fear, Derico alongside his gang robbed the biggest and most secure banks, carting away millions of Naira and leaving casualties as a warning to the police. After operations, he often boasted of his invincibility, that no man could kill him.

At the height of his reign, it was estimated that Derico personally killed over 100 people, including police officers.

Becoming Anambra’s new Kingpin
Before Derico became notorious, Chiejina was described as the state’s deadliest armed robber. Just like Derico, Onitsha was his stomping ground and naturally, their path soon crossed.

These two criminals perhaps saw more opportunities in collaboration, they both began to work together by sharing intelligence. Their relationship was fruitful for a while until Derico’s notoriety with bloodlust became too much for Chiejina. The two criminal lords soon began to clash over territory.

One day while they were having a particularly loud dispute, Derico gunned down Chiejina with a rain of bullets to become the new criminal kingpin in Anambra.

In mid-2001, the Anambra Division of Police began Operation Derico to capture the elusive armed robber. To sum up their effort, he was not captured.

Derico had an expansive cache of weapons that gave the police a run for their money. He was very notorious for gunning down police officers, some reports claim that he murdered as much as 25 of them.

Governor Mbadinuju was torn and running out of options, but with the support of governors from neighboring states, they created a paramilitary force called ‘Bakassi boys’ to tackle the plague of crime in the region.

Derico’s End
Derico became more adventurous than ever during his final days, he and his gang launched an audacious attack on a local police station to secure heavy artillery for a bank robbery in Asaba. In turn, the Bakassi Boys and the Nigerian Police turned on the heat on him.

SARS operatives in collaboration with the Bakassi Boys left for Abuja where they carried out a raid on Derico’s residence. He although escaped by the whiskers, but two of his most notorious lieutenants were killed and his cache of weapons seized.

On the 3rd of July 2001, Bakassi Boys got intelligence that Derico was on his way to his hideout between Agbor to Onitsha.
The boys lay in waiting at the end of the Niger Bridge for his arrival. Soon enough, at the Bridge Head, Derico was identified in a commuter bus and subsequently arrested.

The Nigerian Police requested that he be released for investigation and prosecution but with no trust and assurance that he would meet what he deserved, the Bakassi Boys vehemently refused.

Six days after Derico was captured, the Bakassi Boys drove, singing and chanting defiantly, from their base to the popular Ochanja Market Junction.

As shouts of approval and celebration tore through the air, the Bakassi Boys leaped out of their vehicles and unveiled their prize catch; Derico. It is said that Derico’s body was chopped up and set on fire.

This chase and capture of Derico inspired Lancelot Imasuen's Issakaba, described as one of Nigeria's greatest action films.

Skepticus:

Funny enough, the Juliet character who shared that Whatsapp story, in typical women's fashion, is most likely deflecting you from seeing the hoe that she is, by poking fun at a porn star's sexual life. Most of these girls who like to shame other women have body counts higher than that of a serial killer.

Food / Majority Don't Know The English Names Of These Common Nigerian Fruits by PerfectJUSTICE: 3:35pm On Feb 03, 2020
Nigerians are so creative that rather than find out the English names of certain fruits, they have either stuck with the traditional name or invented a new name for said fruit. Here are common examples:

1. African Star Apple

Try searching for African star apple on Google and watch the search engine struggle to come up with results. But search for “Agbalumo” and watch Google turn to superstar with numerous results. This is because Nigerians only know this fruit as Agbalumo or Udara (in the Southern parts) not as the African Star Apple.

2. Tropical Almonds

The tropical almond can be found in many parts of Southern Nigeria. But Nigerians definitely don’t bother calling it tropical almond. This delicious fruit is referred to as “fruit”.

3. Tiger Nuts

The name “Tiger nut” is yet to stick to this sweet root from Northern Nigeria. Tiger nut is called its traditional name in various parts of the country; Ofio in the Southwest, Aki Hausa in the Southeast and Aya in the North.

4. Black Velvet Tamarind

To undertake a fruitless (in both senses) market search, you only have to keep asking for “black velvet tamarind”. If you’re interested in enjoying the sweet-tart goodness of this fruit, please forget your “shakara” and call it “lickie lickie” like everyone else.
