This flyover is one of the 17 flyovers that has been constructed by the present administration under the leadership of Engr. David Umahi in Ebonyi State.


Something spectacular about this flyover is that it is not located in the capital city of Ebonyi State, yet it this classy and enticing.

For the past few weeks, Ebonyi State's capital city has been experiencing traffic jams as a result of an influx of investors, contractors, job seekers, adventurers, students, etc. for the reason of the uncommon transformation that has happened in the state in the past six years and a fertile ground for investment, education, job opportunities and more. I particularly observed that Governor Umahi is indeed a man who saw the future, Ebonyi's future, the future of the fastest developing state across the country, he saw this and began to prepare before the time, the time that Ebonyi will become visible in the world map. He began to install good roads, connecting the roads with beautiful fountains in the roundabouts and installing the classy decongesting flyovers across the lengths and breaths of where he anticipated may have a traffic jam if allowed to remain in the originality.

A lot has happened in the period under discussion but I elect to leave it for another day but one factual thing you cannot take away from Governor Umahi is his ability to correctly predict what the future holds, of course, we can confirm that he is on a divine mission, judging from his antecedents. You cannot take his love for humanity, his doggedness, and his commitment to ensuring that dividends of democracy cut across all.

Umahi has written his name in gold and will always be remembered.

There is no need to argue about where the president will be coming to in the south, let's learn from northerners, they have produced two presidents from the north west and we never heard from the other northern region that if the north east don't produced president then the south should keep it, no. The president is supposed to come Down south, regardless of where the presidency is coming let's accept it like that as a southern president that will foster unity among the three southern regions.some Aggrieved citizens In the south east particularly on nairaland do say if the presidency do not come to the south east then the north should keep it. Let's support southern presidency irrespective of where he would be coming from.

Chairman of the Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited, (IVM), Mr. Innocent Chukwuma has expressed optimism that the company would take over the Africa market in the nearest future

He made the declaration during a parley with journalists in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Chukwuma said the company was looking ahead to being a producer of vehicles for use in the African continent as a whole, a development he said would reduce pressure on the country’s foreign exchange (forex) demand.

He said he had expanded his scope of production to a wide range of vehicles which include SUVs, wagons, commuter buses, among others.

“I need to correct one impression. While a lot of automobile companies in the country are assembly plants, ours is a manufacturing plant. We source most of our components locally. And that is the edge we have over others. If I see a local company that will add value to what we are doing through production of components, I will patronize them.

“My plans for the next five years is to see IVM everywhere in Africa.”

He further stated that, “Challenges can never stop; people will always have challenges day by day, but the most important thing is that each time it comes up, we put heads together and surmount it. I don’t think there is a challenge we will see and not surmount.

“Our driving force is ideas; it is not about volume of investments, if ideas are there, you can use small money to do big things.”

He added that the staff strength of the Innoson Group was now well over 7200, with the IVM accounting for 1700 staff members.

Chukwuma hailed former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi for supporting the growth of local businesses, adding that Gov. Obiano had also been supportive.

He disclosed that as Governor, “Mr. Peter Obi placed orders for 500 SUVs, 700 buses and 500 pick-up vans and that helped us a lot because he does not owe, he paid in advance.”

He observed that the emphasis on industrial clusters by the Gov. Obiano administration had also helped in the area of power sector, adding that “it is also an opportunity for people to produce more components for me; that will help.”

“However, it should be noted that this industry is not only for governors but everybody. Everybody should know that Innoson Vehicles are manufactured in Nigeria; let everybody see it as our own thing,” said.

The Innoson Chairman also expressed happiness over the victory of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the recently conducted Anambra State Governorship election, describing it as “a huge blessing and gift to Anambra people.”

Soludo better take his time and select a cabinet that will work aggressively to transform Anambra beyond our current state. We have very high hopes on him and he better not disappoint us. The sand dunes and dust that fills up our environment has to go , for sure...no debating here. The green initiative has to take foothold very fast and excuse shouldn't exist as to why Anambra is still looking dusty after his administration.

Another problem he must tackle head on is road side trading which create room for littering , building of stalls in every street corners. In fact the general outlook of the state gotta change before Soludo finishes his two tenures....hopes are very high , I repeat and he must deliver. I pray for him and wish him the very best.

While everyone is obsessed with flyovers, I hope the importance of trees and grass isn't forgotten. Truly, it is the trees and grasses that make a place liveable. If you look at the number of flyovers in the Bronx, you'd think it would be the most liveable place in America. While in truth, it is placed with a lot of trees, flowers, and grass that are indeed liveable!

A law to mandate that every house must plant at least one tree in front of it will ensure that Anambra streets are not just conducive but beautiful.
