Jollylolly: Do you care to share more of this, really interest in it, details on how Tinubu is making moves he support Osinabjo and Elrufai ticket..... It is better for Tinubu to support Osinbajo and Elrufai or Zulum ticket really...He will stay relevant in today democracy the more Ours is a country sensitive to ethno-religious standing. Factors counting against Tinubu: A muslim/muslim ticket would never sell in this country and the north would never support a minority Christian for the post of a VP. Tinubu is seen to be complicit in the failure of this administration due to the significant role he played in its coming to power. There is also a very powerful bloc in the APC which comprises the governors and a good number of them are against his ambition (The Oshiomhole saga was a pointer to 2023). Buhari will never be comfortable handing over to him and the lekki toll gate incidence has further dented his image. Tinubu and El-Rufai know that their aspiration for 2023 won't be a hit and must reach a compromise to stay relevant. Tinubu would rather hold to his Lagos than take a gamble at the Presidency and lose. An Osibanjo presidency ticks that for them both. Zulum is another good fit for the VP being from the NE. But for me with regards 2 capacity, those 2 short men have what it takes to deliver and would eventually hand over to the youths (El-Rufai has appointed a significant number of youths in their 20s to 30s to his cabinet and they have delivered immensely. His only minus is the growing insecurity in the state). |

trutharena: I suspect Tinubu will eventually support Osinbajo/El-Rufai ticket.
They are not pushing Osinbajo currently because they need to shield him and unveil him at the time the opposition won’t be able to launch any barrage of attack on him to de-market him.
One thing I like Asiwaju for is that he can sacrifice a lot for his comrades and he is a great leader.
Let’s see how 2023 unfolds. Very apt....that's the plan. A reliable source in Kaduna State Government told me this since last year. But for El-Rufai's unguarded utterances, those 2 are very competent and will do well. I personally believe for equity as a Middle Belter, an Igbo speaking Nigerian should be the next President. |

Science/Technology › Re: Why Do Countries Have Different Time Zones? by petrage(m): 3:16pm On Dec 27, 2020 |
MalaikaEH: Okay, OP, let me teach you in primary school tone and voice.
My instructional material is a flashlight (touch) and a spherical globe containing map of the world. For easier understanding, take the materials to a dark room where the only source of light is the touch light.
Now, the touch represents the sun and should be kept on a chair at one corner of the room. The sun is the only source of light in the whole universe. The moon and stars merely reflect rays of light from the sun. The sun does not move at all. It is stationary and shines constantly without stopping. So, in this dark room, keep the touch light shining at one place towards the globe without offing it.
Back to the globe, make it stand constantly on the south pole with Australia near it, while the North Pole is constantly upside with Siberia, Alaska and Northern Russia close to it.
Now, set the globe in such a way that the light is shining directly on the map of Nigeria on the globe. In real world, that happens around 12pm in Nigeria. Other countries on the same line (latitude) with Nigeria, such as Italy, Libya, Tunisia, Niger, Germany, etc have their 12pm at the same time. So, it is said that they are on the same time zone.
At this same time, countries and areas directly behind Nigeria on the other side of the globe will have their 12am (i.e. Mid night) because the light from the touch (sun) can not reach them.
The earth rotates anti-clockwise on its axis (meaning that it turns round and round slowly on the South Pole side). So, we turn our globe so that the touch light now shines directly on the map of Ghana, Mali, UK, Spain, etc . In reality, it takes the earth complete 1 hour to make this turn. So, the time zone around the world would have changed by 1 hour. Time in Nigeria becomes 1pm when Ghana has 12pm, At this same time, Senegal would be having 11am. The earth and time continue to move until Nigeria will reach behind the light, which is night. At 12am (mid night) in Nigeria, some countries facing the sun will have their mid day. It takes 24 hours for the earth to rotate completely on its axis. That is what we call one day.
Also, the earth revolves around the sun. That means it continues moving, apart From rotating, until it has gone round the sun. This takes 365 and one quarter days to complete. That is one year.
I hope you all understand today's lesson. Such intelligence....Pls consider my 'proposal' If you ain't married. |

One4me: You dont understand how this thing works! The Northern elite are the ones who unleash these Killer SARS on Southerners. They dare not do so in their own enclave because they know that their Youths are very violent and dont care about living.
Ask yourself: Why do we have forty (40) Customs Checkpoints between Lagos and Lokoja (halfway) and there is NONE between Lokoja and katsina in the extreme North? Is that Customs work is banned in the North or they dont smuggle in the North? Its all about the Northenr elites in Power, oppressing Southern nigerians Dont be decieved This is the problem I have with U people and warped reasoning. The Middle-Belt (Kogi, Benue and Kwara) down to the South exhibits tendencies for greed! Do carry out due deligence and U will discover that 90% of the checkpoints are illegal conduits for extortion. An average Northerner takes no sh*t and would never grease the hand of any uniformed person. The aforementioned places take it as a norm such that passengers in Vehicles would turn against a driver who is not willing to bribe his way. Please leave the North out of the issue; the North has her own unique problems too. Note: I am from the Middle-Belt. |
