we'll have to weigh the benefits of your action against the risks. Having cards makes financial transactions alot easier. It would also be a hard and almost impossible sell to tell robbers that you've got no card. We only can imagine their reaction on your body as they would take out the beauty from your face.
I think I would have to move most of my serious cash to a specific account and do away with the ATM card while I maintain the other account with some cash, keeping the ATM. May God not allow us experience evil.

You are right. God is our security... Something led to me not making use of an ATM card..

I was discussing with a friend yesterday and we were going on about the spate of crime in Lagos, lamenting that things are taking a turn for the worse.
Then he began to tell me his experience with robbers who paid a visit to his compound at Ikeja last week. According to him, they seem to get smarter and smarter. They visited them with POS machines and moved from flat to flat, demanding you make transactions into their account at gunpoint. Once the transaction pulls through, they take your cards, record your pin and they are off to the next flat.

In this way, they drained virtually all the cash in his 3 accounts over the weekend.

I thank God i decided at a point in my life to do away with ATM CARDS... but they will be caught in no time...

I want a fairly used laptop, and my budget is N50,000.

Laptop would be mainly for surfing the net,a little gaming. My minimum specs, are 4gb RAM, 2 Ghz processor,320GB HDD,decent- good screen resolution, minimum of 4 hours battery life.

I may compromise in any other aspects, but the minimum hours on a battery is an exception.

Thanks Drabeey, I don't know if you intend visiting that lady again but if you do. Look for the mobile ICU Unit and i am sure you will get an important information. The last time something similar like this happened it was a matured lady who just came from Ireland, she was a citizen over there and she had her passport and driver license in her bag with foreign currencies and some other notable items. she came into our estate and was sleeping on the road. It seems like as if she was drugged and stripped off valuable items.. we called the Mobile ICU Unit and a member of our estate collected the Mobile ICU personal number and went to see her, my little sister posted the ladies picture on the internet and informed the police. Sooner or later some people came around saying they were looking for a lady and that she was their sister who just came from abroad, They had a very good description of the lady and that she was not doing great... many stories.. i called the guy who collected the Mobile ICU Unit number then gave them his number.. At the end they were re-united together. They were very grateful to the guy who made sure he knew where the Mobile ICU Unit was and the Hospital. They also invited him for a dinner i guess... Lest i forget, All the ladies properties were checked and numbered before going with them in the Mobile ICU Unit vehicle.. I hope you find her soon

According to what I deduced from here, the lady was waiting for her transport home while some guys were crossing the express. The vehicle that however hit the lady waved his hand from not hitting those guys on a close range and he ran into the lady standing by the side of the road.
However, those guys can't be blamed for crossing the road and not using the pedestrian bridge because that bridge is even very dangerous at that time of the day. that is where some catch their victims and rob them. so it's better to cross the road ( updated )

My first question is, did you read the translation written by someone else.. In as much as i do not support the killings. You saw the Shiites already on their weapons?... Nigerian basketball is characterized by government negligence, we have lots of youth wasting on the streets, not everyone can become a footballer.. Basketball could be set up properly, it would engage our youths meaningfully and even aid in job creation.
We seriously lack public basketball courts in nigeria, you only find public courts in very big schools or stadiums and millitary bases. And these locations are unaccessible to people far from this locations.
Am not much of a basketballer only because i could not find courts to play nearby. In lagos, i have to spend almost a thousand naira on transport in order to get to the closest basketball court to and fro.
Please yaba and surulere is too far for some of us, establish public courts in all the local government areas.

Hall IV was worth it during my stay in my first year in 2007... I was a proud engine student.. A very corrosive blood. I saw a lot of things in the toilet sometimes I go as far as my faculty to make sure I dropped those waste. If I remember vividly I stayed in unit 1 - Rm 192 and it was not so fun but I learnt a lot never to forget putting paper on the toilet sit before taking a shoot and u must bathe after you go toilet..
