TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m):
Full story now:
Got to the embassy just few minutes after 6am. Waited til about 7am when the 7am appointment were called. Did all the security, paid the 330 dollars, submitted my docs and waited til my no was called. Window 13,14,15 and 16 showed up but later 16 left. Window 13 and 15 were very tough cos they turned down several applicant. The CO in window 14 looks nice so I was abt praying to God to allow the guy interview me when He said to me that its not about nice that its all abt what He's arranged for me. So I changed the prayer and asked Him to have His ways. My number eventually beeped up for window 13. Before standing up, I whisper a prayer asking Him to take absolute control
CO: gud morning
Me: responded gud morning
Co: raise up ur hand
Me: did
Co: do u swear to say the truth
Me: yes
Co: took my finger print
Interview proper:
Co: what do u do?
Me: I do so so
Co: how many sibling do u have?
Me: so so so
Co: how many kids do u have
Me: am single
Co: congratulation, am approving your visa now.
House, I prayed to God that I don't want my interview to be upto 5min but low and behold, its wasn't upto 2min self. I wasn't asked anything about my BSc, O-level, grade nothing etc. Cos several ppl were asked those questions abt what courses they did etc. Met several ppl being interviewed and I stil left them there self. God be praised forever cos His favour actually went ahead of me. Indeed faith works wonder and its just lay hold of the end results. Thanks to the house too. God bless u all.

Mehen, I just fall in love with this kine of interview experience. Its tool cool. This is unusual and this shows God's favour. Congratulation big time

ifeanyi.abdul:
Good day House,
To God be the Glory! Interview appointment was 10am today and it was successful; After going through all security checks and making necessary payments, we were called at window 20 to submit only 1 passport photograph, 1 photocopy and original of only birth certificates for 5 of us and marriage certificate. The guy at window 20 never even demanded for our academic credentials, and we wondered why?
We waited until our ticket number beeped!
CO: Good afternoon
US: Good afternoon
CO: How are you?
US: We are fine thank you, and you? He replied: very good
CO: Please do your thumb prints on the machine - we both did that
CO: Please raise your right hands and promise to .....
CO: To my wife, you are the principal applicant..... my wife answered yes
US: We remained standing with the kids for the interview. I was not asked to go and sit down with the kids

INTERVIEW PROPER
CO: What's is your highest educational qualification
My wife: Answered
CO: Do you have any document for this
My wife: She presents Original and 1 photocopy
CO: Do you have WAEC?
My wife: Yes, and presents her Original WAEC and 1 photocopy
CO: Everything is good, pulls out white paper and hands over to us!

To all members of this great forum, we remain eternally grateful. God bless you in your dreams!

Note: We had 2 birth certificates; the NPC, and the normal birth certificate for myself and my wife. The man at windows 20 looked at both, but choose the NPC. He remarked : your NPC certificate is a certified one (authenticated), and I said yes.
We prepared so hard; asked ourselves questions and even carried 2 big albums for courtship, introduction and wedding, but CO never asked us to present any album and only asked us 2 questions during the interview proper as highlighted above. We can clearly see God's favor and hands in our interview.
GENERAL ADVICE TO ALL: Please, let's not forget our God when we get to the U.S. When things are rosy, let's learn to hold on to God at such times more than when we encounter problems.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m): 2:46pm On Mar 22, 2013
junkerhill: you asked the question again even when it has been answered yesterday. What alse do u expect people to say when you keep on posting it over and over.
@Junkerhill:
Sorry, I didn't duplicate the question okay. When the question was asked, its required an urgent answer but since there weren't any response, I had to re-snd the question. The thread page on which the question was asked was already filled but yet no response that's why I had to send in the question again on the new thread. Someone later responded in the new thread and ever since then, the question wasn't repeated naw.

pjogutum1: @Petsal: Hello house:
A friend has this issue and he needs a clarification. The name on his NYSC discharge certificate was written like this -Saliiu Damola Ayomide instead of the normal name which is- Saliu Damola Ayomide.
Pls house what can he do abt this cos he's been slated for an issue. Thanks

As long as there is no error in spelling of the names let the names remain the way they are, the embassy know that Nigerians bear too many names and that the names are not always arranged the same way. i have said it before on the thread, don't go and complicate things for yourself in trying to play safe. secondly please house i think its high time some of us use our head, if you find a page that has already treated your questions take note of that page possible write down the page munber for future reference and make research. i am not sure that some selectees have taken their time to read through the DV instructions, and if you are new please kindly go through what others have said before bursting any questions. thanks my E-Family i love you all while waiting to be current we shall all get there IJN Amen.
I hope u read the question cos ur response shows u didn't read it or u assumed for the me what am trying to say. Its clear that the first name was wrongly spelt and not that its was wrongly arranged.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. That means he will have to do another police report after 3month if he's stil in naija despite he's been given the visa niyen then. Appreciate

Secondly, pls where's the location of the NPC office in Lagos if incase he decides to go for that NPC? Thanks

@adesojiaderemi:
Thanks a lot for the response. I appreciate the insight u gave. However. I didn't get the statement u said about making use of the current results. If I can get u right, u mean he shuld use shuld go with the two certificate but shuld present the one that he passed all his O-level subject at the point of docs submission shey?

adesojiaderemi@:
it is obvious that the birthday on his cert is a mistake, however, let him do an affidavit to correct the mistake.Plan b< let him go with the two results but only to present the most current one in case they ask for the former one (which I believe they won't).
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m): 9:29am On Mar 13, 2013
gud morning ppl. Pls guys, a friend had this issue:
He finishd his SSCE in 1999 with 4 credits and the rest was pass. He later re-enroled for WAEC in 2005 and passed all the subjcts at one sittings. In the form sent to KCC, he included the two schools and already he has the certificates with him. His question now is, he's thinking of presenting just the certificate he had all his results since that's the result that contained all the subjects he passed. Pls, I need an urgent response cos he's been slated for an interview which is very close now.

Second issue he had is that on the first certificate(1999), the date of birth was mistakenly written. Normal date is 28/09/1983 but the wrongly written date on the certificate was 21/8/1983. Pls house, hope this won't generate any issue?
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m):

Hello guys, am stil hoping to hear from u guys as regards the question I asked earlier on.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m): 9:34pm On Mar 10, 2013
Imcool: Yes it's better to get the NPC birth certificate cuz we don't know the one he/she has wit him/her. The birth certificate(long form) given @ birth can be used but it's better not to take any avoidable risk by not getting the NPC birth certificate. The price is determined by the state where the person is getting it from. In my own state(Ondo), it's 2,500 naira, the price is more in some states. Maybe u'll tell us the state where d NPC birth certificate is to be obtained so dat gurus from dat state will help u out.
The fellow was born in Ilorin, kwara state but he's thinking of obtaining his birth certificate from NPC here in lagos cos he resides in lagos state. How about that pls?
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m): 4:24pm On Mar 10, 2013
Another one here: pls, how much will its cost if one is to do birth certificate with the NPC(National Population Census) and how many days will it require to get it? The reason for the Question is someone is slated for interview and he did have his birth certificate but its like ppl are saying its better he get the NPC doc also to be on a safer side. Thanks
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Petsal(m): 4:13pm On Mar 10, 2013
Imcool: Dv lottery is self petitioned. By saying self petitioned, i mean as regards dv lottery, a petitioner is the principal applicant. The only place where one specifies dat he/she has a relative in the US is where one indicates the name and address of his/her host and the purpose of this is to av an address where one's green card will be sent to in the US. Questions can be asked about the relationship between the the host and and the applicants or where the host works in the US. Question are not always asked about the 'petitioner' rather questions are asked about the applicants since they are available @ the interview but in a sense, it also means the same as asking questions about d petitioner(principal applicant)
@Imcool: thanks a lot for that info atleast that issue has now been cleared. I love this forum mehen cos u get informed wella.

Happy Sunday @all and happy mother's day.
Pls ppl in the house, I have question. A friend is asking about issue regarding petitioner. He said when he sent his forms to KCC, he used himself as his own petitioner although he also said he knows someone in US in one of the form. He's been slated for interview for April now. He wants to know if they use to ask question abt petitioner or no petitioner. Thanks
