Even in my room at school(UNILAG), those room mates of mine who are Yorubas do say hurtful things to me often inspite of the fact that I'm Ibibio. They say we're one, and I'm happy to be affiliated with Igbo. "One Nigeria" is a BIG LIE! I'm from the United States Of Biafra (USB), not Nigeria. If USB decides to be on her own, Yorubas and Hausas will never ever measure up to us in all aspects till Jesus comes! It is our oil resources that make all of you, we own the Nigerian economy, PETROLEUM. #Proudly Akwa-Ibomite# You're correct in one respect: Yorubas are tribalistic. While serving, I observed that I was the only one - of all the Yoruba corpers in Orlu - that thought the igbos could be better at anything other than f.u.c.king. Associating with Igbo and thinking they will be good administrators are, well, foolish thinking. When they were given the opportunity to be the senate president, they gave us five in four years. If you are Ibibio, I mean truly Ibibio, then, I will advise you to study your history. Being slaves to them has brought you nothing other than misery. I wasted this data because you're in my Alma Mater. |

However, some igbos (note: in lower case) on Nairaland make us wonder if there's any reasonable being in that tribe. Now, I'm neither supporting nor opposing the op. I'm tired of reading or hearing this damned misapprehension of facts!
This comparison with 'Honest Abe' is ill-informed, and found on a basis of poorly researched supposition that Lincoln failed in all his political aspirations prior to his victory in the presidential elections of 1860.
He won an election to the Illinois General Assembly in 1834 at the age of 24, and got re-elected two years afterward. Then, In 1846, he was sent to the US congress. Let's not disregard the fact that he won an election to the Illinois legislature in 1854 which he eventually declined because he believed it would affect his chances of going to the Senate two years later.
He naturally had his setbacks, as most politicians do; but, he was not a persistent failure. |

To seek has several connotations which include "attempt to find something", "To try to locate or discover", "To endeavour to obtain or reach" etc. In this context, I meant that we should try to endeavour to obtain excellence!
The meaning of a word depends on the context in which it is used, mister. Stop highlighting your poor schooling. I actually thought you had something intelligent to say, and I was willing to learn, insult or not!
This is exactly what I was trying to highlight; instead of supporting my point to create a better society, you were rather searching for a weakness in my rendition to scratch your deep inferiority complex. You're not dull, sir. You're daft. You're also unhinged. The use of 'seek' presupposes the inclusion of 'for'. You don't 'seek for' something, you 'seek' it, dumbo. The meaning of a word depends on the context in which it is used? Okay. Keep saying 'search for for'. I guess people will realise it's the product of your proper (and expensive) schooling. Humanly speaking, JEGA is the bomb in what I have seen so far.
Now to call a spade a spade, JEGA postponed the election result declaration for fear of last-minute 'paper and pen' rigging and figure-changing. He knows how desperate some people are to have their person on seat. JEGA knew that while he was calling the results, some States in some geopolitical zones are busy making calculations and adjusting their figures right on their way to ABUJA.
Those who I am talking about are those who:
1. vote based on tribalism and not on credibility of the candidate.
2. vote based on religion and not on what the candidate is capable of doing.
3. vote blindly.
He was resolute and fearless; I even thought he was going to just stand there and declare the final result directly, only to be shocked that we NIGERIANS are the ones to calculate the figures ourselves based on the results brought forward by each STATE REP.
ONCE AGAIN I SAY, JEGA IS MY MAN OF THE YEAR. I'M HAPPY AND SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS DECLARED SO FAR. These m.a..d people saying the elections were free and fair, how sure are you? I have a vid where a whole box was turned out and new ballot papers are thumb-printed for PDP. What happened on Sat. was not an election. |
