Yet he wants to build a 102Billion naira airport and a magical city on water, lol, shiny projects! Something more serious stares this man in the face and hes busy with propaganda, tiny rain and lagos is flooded, that means the kain rain wey dey fall for south south go sink lagos |
Lol, una never start, shebi this one na normal natural disaster as some of una dey claim, therefore nothing can be done about it, eko ile don take style disappear abi? Make we dey look, |
Lol, a criminal speaks and this jackas.s begins to froth at the mouth, see as you dey proud to dey quote asari, one of the touts that ruined rivers state, i had this feeling that intelligence isnt really one of your strong points but youve removed all doubt, Roflmao |
abdul, if not for security issues, akpabio is just as good as the three you mentioned and for the record number 2 was the one asking that the revenue formula be revised , he basically started all this drama, and number 3 should be replaced with chime |
Just as fruitless as trying to fetch water with a basket, |
My man,if you were smart and actually read through my posts you would have realised my point was never about money but starting small which was a response to ekt s post, hell the govt can spend far less than that but let there be a plan, by the way wouldnt it have been better to post those articles up there FIRST before you went on an insultive rampage, just saying |
Eko Ile:Yes, tackling drainage in a big city like lagos is NOT a service abi ?i can see why this problem will not go away because i fear the people up in alausa think exactly like you, with their a.holes.No problem, you can keep your shiny malls and schools but please remember to make provision for high speed boats for lagosians to get to school and hospitals with, |
ekt, what makes you think it cant be solved completely??It just takes the will!i live in PHC, the governor came up with a drainage masterplan and its being followed, currently many roads here are having their open gutters converted to underground drainages.PHC as it is still experiences flooding in many parts but i can assure you the situation has improved remarkably, its almost mind boggling.Start small, thats the point.Lagos govt can start with converting open drainages to underground drainages, this might not be as expensive as you think and will go a long way to protect the drains. |
I'm sure everyone is aware of the problem, but as Garth alluded to it will cost too much money to solve completely. So I guess the government will do what it can, and people will just have to deal with it ![]() What else can you do? The population of the state is probably around 20 million, yet the infrastructure was probably meant for 5 million ![]() How do you solve decades of bad planning and neglect in a single 4 year term? Probably impossible. I dunno.
Look IMHO, i think if we keep waiting for the 17 billion dollars to tackle drainage in lagos,it will never be done.what is wrong with devoting 20-30 billion naira every year from the budget to tackle this menace in flood prone areas of lagos.I can bet you a lot of improvement will definitely be seen. The truth is drainage at a part of a city is almost always dependent on drainage at another part, tackle headlong one part of lagos and you will be surprised at the dominoe effect, I think this is a better approach instead of making excuses for a government that we think is the best thing to happen to us since the discovery of condoms |
I'd strongly suspect that Lagos would be the one that needs more money to sort out drainage, no? Or think about it this way. . . would it be cheaper to do drainage for a hypothetical Lagos State with only 1 million residents or Lagos State with 40 mllion residents? I'd imagine that the former is much cheaper to do drainage for. . . land acquisition costs easier, less constraints on what you do and where you build, and the natural mostly untouched ecosystem helping you soak the rainwater.
now this does make a lot of sense, but when you consider lagos, a city with an existing network of drainages we might not be talking about much, The question is is the lagos state government seeing this as an emergency is there a drainage masterplan ? |
Eko Ile:Please someone should throw this stray dog a bone, , compare you arguements to ekt's and see the difference, and you wonder why you stir up feelings of disgust and repulsion in people who reply to your post, ![]() |
Eko Ile:you seriously did not just type this, , please stop insulting us, |
Trust me when i say this, PORTHARCOURT no follow for first five neatest cities, QED |
No, the second sentence is important. That the two cities have similar pop density is part of Garth's point.
If you have a city 2x the size of lagos(land mass) with 1.5million residents compared to lagos with 17million residents, which will need more money to sort out drainage??(this is not a trick question) |

^^^^most sensible post youve made in like, let me see, NEVER! |
Two cities. One is 100 square miles, the other is 10 square miles. It costs $X to do drainage for the latter city. All he is saying is that it should cost $10X to do drainage for the first one. Stated differently, Lagos is like have 10 Benin Cities all right next to each other. I'm feeling a little sleepy, but unless I made a big mistake in understanding, then this should make sense.
This is a much better argument, without the second sentence, |
, and yet lagos still floods, SMH , your man is so so overrated.get over it, travel around and see and stop being such a.holes , |
whats wrong with his son learning carpentry, nothing at all, and i think many youths in lagos should be encouraged to embrace carpentry(and other vocational skills), besides the rate lagos is going, lagosians will need CANOES and lots of 'em to navigate the city! ![]() |
Very soon these clowns would start to post anytime fashola has a loose stool, and of course it will be people oriented, ![]() |

eko ile tell your tin God to stop commissiong abattoirs and poultries and repair lagos drainages.it is a priority regardless of what anyone thinks, and by the way its difficult to take you seriously when you do not know the difference between cross rivers and rivers, |
^ , newt! Leave lagos and travel around and stop making noise no nairaland like a baby. |
^ yes and you just happened to stumble on this thread that was probably on the sixth page, clap for yourself, pray tell, whats your companys name? Clown! |
rotimiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ![]() |
, i dey laugh, |
i think this drainage thing is an emergency, flooding can do a lot more damage than insecurity IMHO |
yes , security is important, but fashola should unveil a drainage masterplan like amaechi is doing, , he should attempt to convert open gutters to underground drainages, that will solve the issue of lagosians throwin trash into the gutters |
dlox01: , sorry i am comparing a man who renovates a 5 bedroom duplex(with a 100 occupants) he just moved into to a man building a 100bedroom duplex(for 10 occupants) from scratch, and of course the former is wealthier, ![]() |
