I acknowlegde Amaechi is doing his best. But seriously, how do you assess Fashola's perfomance in comparison to other Govs in their states aside from your state?
very well actually, truth is if we have to rate governors we should do it on a per sector basis, dont mind my little "confrontation" with eko ile, but people say if you want to communicate with a frog, then learn to croak, grin grin grin grin

Came in from International Airport (not been in PH for a while so don't know the names of new routes), stopped at some police checkpoint that had this "garage roofing" found in homes. Finally came out of a road beside the Air Force Base (Garden city Airport). I notice along the route from the international airport to the city airport no completed roads. We had to share same lane with cars coming in the opposite direction, roads were filled with potholes and bad spots. Come on to Aba Expressway - Rumuola junction under the overhead and some other spots along the way towards old GRA you find bad spots.

Ikwerre Road - From UST to Rumokuta, Agip Rumueme Raod towards NAOC and the estate . . . etc.

I can't remember being on any major road that didn't have issues. Was totally disappointed. It seems to all be under construction, abandoned or just bad. Some roads have been in the same under construction state for 4 years now. Haba.

I have heard of his renovations of public schools but roads and development in the capital city are not one of his strong points.
alright thanks for clearing that up, now i guess you must have used the owerri road from the airport (which is billed for reconstruction and expansion) and must have connected the G.U ake road at a roundabout further further down, now that GU ake road was the nightmare odili built that terminates at the airforce flyover(that you mentioned), You would have noticed amaechi is reconstructing that road from the roundabout along owerri road up till airforce flyover at an amount far more than what was initially used including the terrible eliozu flyover along the same axis, ikwerre road is undergoing reconstruction too with underground drainages from education uptill rumuokoro, the education to UST portion is complete(refer to pixes above) UST to rumuokoro is sure to come(they are just renovating the median and fixing street lights on that segment), Summaryhuhikwerre road is ahuge construction site now, thats why it appeared the way it did to you, i live in PH and driving along aba road from airforce to old GRA is far from being a hassle, bad spots under rumuola bridge, yes, but along the other stretch, no!
, and please for the record amaechi is not renovating schools, the man practically tore down those embarassing schools and put up completely new ones
Pray tell, which roads have been on construction for four years?, rumuola-rumuokwuta is complete, slaughter-oginigba is complete, NTA choba is almost complete, so which oneshuh?

Wallie:
Absolutely not! Didn’t the recently concluded election show that people voted for personalities rather than parties? If you have a PDP governor that is performing to a level that you’re proud of, by all means, toot his horn! Can you just imagine if all the political leaders in Nigeria are performing at the same level as Fashola or Fashola’s performance is the lowest common denominator?

Bad leaders cut across all tribes and we’ve all had our share of bad leaders! Stop making excuses for incompetent leaders and bring them to task! The truth is that the highest political office in a state requires skills that most people lack, no matter how good their intention is. Leaders should be evaluated objectively without any sentiment and if a leader is below par send him on his way! You’re either making grade or not, period.
thank you,

Eko Ile:
The fact is, we care less about what what you people and your incompetent leaders are doing, we come here and post stuff about Fashola and you and other ibo haters will show up to spew your usual bad bele rubbish.

We didn't bring up amenchi or river state, you people did just to discredit Fashola.

ibo people, we know all about the victim game, that sh.it is played out.
grin grin grin grin grin babapupa, please can you prove to me an igbo man started this thread, and i will shut up, i promise!

Tough crowd!!!

Guys, there’s no need bickering…times have changed and the era of a selected few holding the population at bay is long gone! In this information age, everyone now has the opportunity to compare and contrast their leader’s performance without being at the whim of the state controlled media. Take advantage of your new found freedom and use it to demand more from your leaders.

Social networking will only become more popular and your leaders will be forced to take notice of your complaints or issues but you have to stop making excuses for them!

If your state doesn’t have enough money, what is your government doing to raise revenue and lower cost? What are they doing with the “little” money that the state is getting? This is not a Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa thing as most, if not all, states are governed by indigenes. If your “brother” is incompetent or stealing your money, fire his backside!

Lastly, you can’t blame the people who are excited about Fashola for tooting his horn, how else do you expect them to show their appreciation for a job well done? For those of you with school-age kids, when your kid comes first in class, don’t you encourage him by buying him stuff or, at the very least, say attaboy? How do you think all the accolades that Fashola is getting makes the other governors feel? I bet you that the sensible ones are buckling down!
sensible post, yes,he's doing well, yes, they can praise him, no,they absolutely cannot throw away other performing governors just because of 'PDP', must we throw away the baby with the bathwaterhuh

Politics › Re: Amaechis Port Harcourt! by phantom(op): 4:16pm On May 26, 2011
Eko Ile:
I'm not missing anything, it's just some ugly bridge, lousy roads, buildings that you yourself don't know what they are for.

Look at the Fashola pics I posted in the other thread, they all have purpose and are properly labeled.

I know it's hard for you people to be honest with yourselves, but imagine this, states do what they do based on their yearly budgets, what Fashola is doing is based on Lagos state's yearly budgets, but Rivers state's yearly budget is higher than Lagos state, so why is it that this is all the ugly and aimless crap you have to show for all that money for just 5 million people against Lagos state's 18 million people

Obviously, there is some mago mago going on or your hero is just plain a lousy, clueless and incompetent administrator.

Based on the above facts alone, you really should be mad, not jumping all over the place with some silly mediocre and roadside pictures,

The joke is on you my friend
yes, the roads, schools and hospitals, are indeed aimless!, great thinkin!!
STOP SHOWING ME MOTORCYCLES AND ABBATTOIRS, OKAY, PLEASE SHOW ME PROJECTS IN HEALTH AND EDUCATION, AND I NEED MORE ROADS, ESPECIALLY ON THE MAINLAND, I HAVE SHOWN YOU THE GOOD AND THE BAD, STOP HYPING FASHOLA FOR ONCE AND DO THE SAME, HABA, IS THAT SO HARDhuh?
