any doctor who aspires to be a cmd must have an extra degree in hospital management. the WACS,WACP & NPMC have introduced short courses in hospital management but I think its not enough. |
theplanmaker: Do you sincerely think that the hospital cannot afford a drill that costs 1million naira without the government?do you know what a defibrillator is? Google it. can you imagine no government hospital in this country has a defibrillator except maybe national hospital. a very important machine. many government hospitals do not have something as basic as an ultrasound machine. Nigerian doctors make the best of a very sad situation honestly. your leaders fly out BECAUSE they know they have not done the right thing.they have not equipped the hospital s or trained their health personnel. there is an area of radiology called interventional radiology.with interventional radiology ,many cases that would have ordinarily needed surgery are handled.these are less invasive procedures.we have only two people in this country you can call interventional radiologists. gambari and ahidjo, both of them in the north. what stops our govt from sending out more people for training in different aspects of medicine? if they can't afford it,then import these highly skilled personnel from other countries especially India to come in and train our people. our government is useless. |
theplanmaker: oh I have seen worse......there are cases in Ubth were consultants refuse to attend to patients except they register in their private clinics, this is what medicine has turned to in Nigeria. unlike education, poor funding is not the biggest problem in the health sector........corruption is the problem.this is not true! stop peddling this rubbish.it is rubbish. |
rhymz: And please, for Bleep sake, can all these so-called doctors fronting here about being the most important humans alive write in clear English text for all to read and understand? What is with the silly childish abbreviation s and short hands? na so them teach una for una medical schools? So much for the touted brilliance of the medical doctor.please look for something else to hamper on.they can write anyway they deem fit after all this is a social site. |
tosinjoe: Obviously u don't understand the post. Kindly read againo please! you want to go towards the angle of fraud. what do you expect? the problem is that the hospital does not have a single drilling machine. that is what has given room to the whole 'renting one' rubbish. someone is capitalising on the inefficiency of your government (though the person is not being straight forward about it) to make quick cash.simple! |
then tomorrow someone will get up and tell me that people run to India because our doctors are bad. your government can't equip its hospitals. a drilling machine! its a pity. |
Sweetliver: JP,I have read your write up and it's obvious on whose camp your are in. Have you taken time to read the 24 demands well. Inasmush as by indications the doctors are the head of the hospital,it doesn't mean they should decide on other health workers issues.no problem. please give us links showing the qualifications required to be a consultant nurse,Pharm or lab tech. secondly give us links showing these people are hospital based in the UK,Australia or the states. |
ziga: I thank goodness you left!!!lol .....probably waiting for us to fix things.then maybe when consultants here start earning 2million naira,he will hop on a plane and dash down here with the speed of light. he's in the UK. ask him whether consultant pharmacists and nurses are hospital based.what are their qualifications? ask him whether the medical director NOT the CEO of his hospital is a non-doctor? ask him whether pharmacists prescribe in the UK.if they do,what type of pharmacists? ask him whether radiographers report CTS and MRIs in the UK? ask him who is in charge of hospital based labs in the UK? probably working as a locum doctor then we no go hear word again? why did he leave? lol |
DanNafada: 1. I left nigeria so that I do not have to work with people like you who, unfortunately, are in the majority.interesting!! your immaturity is glaring.I hope you get buried there when you die, americanah . the whites there probably only allow you touch them when they have no other options and you think you have arrived.... clown.you stay in another mans land and point at your home with your left.shame on you. it is doctors like you who have kept us where we are today.doctors whose noses are up in the air, feeling like Gods while the others play politics. may we never have your type in a leadership position in this country. God forbid! |
Jakumo: Personally I seek answers to all my spiritual problems by slaughtering a black goat, and studying the layout of its entrails when they are emptied on to the ground. ... |
Abagworo: . I thought you still live in Port-Harcourt. OCC is very much alive though he incurred a lot of bad records of land fight in the past. So Timothy is now fighting his own father for land. Remember "eli gbala oso" by Buckwild. "Land no dey run". Both you and your father like every man will one day die but land will remain.na wa o! occ himself na worry worry man. I remember his beef with obi wali. at some point he was a suspect and still is in obi walis death. |
the apiti of rumueme. is that not OCC?is he still alive? |

please use Google and get back to me. |
RedBenson: Thank you. You can now go. I dont trade words with half-educated, half-illiterate people. You know who you are.haba my brother.... you made a mistake.it does not take nothing from you to apologise and move on. |
ndudi elumelu says the FMOH is not ready to settle this issue as agreements reached with doctors more than 3months ago have not been honoured. he acknowledged the fact that doctors were being owed to the tune of 7billion naira and expressed his sadness at the inability of the MOH to resolve issues. he also complained about the absence of the health minister at today's hearing even though he knew about it and said that chukwu might be subpoenaed or forced to appear before the commitee. |
nouveaux: at least I never braggedyou are shameless. calling someone out for spelling blunders. please humble yourself and edit your post.correct the mistakes and pretend like it never happened but if you insist on defending yourself you will make a fool of yourself. |
...............and in other news, i hear pregnant women at uyo teaching hospital staged a protest and warned the nurses not to book any of them for antenatal. they said if the nurses couldn't produce the doctors they came to see, they shouldn't bother asking them to pay for service. I need someone at UUTH to confirm this..... |
nouveaux: were u not thought how to spell in school? Or how to reason and make presentable presentation? All these yoruba medical schools sef. That's how will will see a 500level medical student blowing grammatical blunders in thick yoruba accent. So repulsive.see kettle calling......... ![]() |
.........in this country a consultant pharmacist or nurse will explain to the patients that they are not 'doctor consultants'.who has that time?let's do an experiment. go to any nearby pharmacy and call the pharmacist 'doctor'. let's see whether he won't be grinning from ear to ear. they answer it more than the real doctors... ![]() |
the hospitals have been left for you. pharmacists are working nurses are working lab technologists are on ground radiographers are on ground physiotherapists are on ground admin and accounts are on ground cooks, porters and cleaners are working gatemen, security and generator guys are on ground mosquitoes, roaches and rats are active ......yet the hospitals are drier than the sahara because doctors are absent. johesu have been given the opportunity to put the arrogant doctors to shame BUT even with all their heads put together,no single patient wants to take the risk..... ..... |
by taking NMA to court they have tactically agreed that the doctor is the head.simple! the truth is, even if NMA looses in all the courts in this world, this same Govt will still beg. value wins at the end of the day.undoubtedly NMA is the most valuable body in healthcare.fact! your government knows it. after they try all the tricks in the book, they will nicodemously sign agreements with NMA and implement them just like ASUU. like I said, this strike will be called of when we all enter the stage of ACCEPTANCE. |
dr cakes..... thank you. people just copy and paste things they don't understand.. |
Joenz: Lol Phantom my Phantom,I believe u knw we r already becoming friends on here.Who says JOHESU has issues with the payment of the arrears?Everyone will be paid effective from january for ur info so who cares? On directorship n consultancy status,at least we r making progress,as u av said here,it will be difficult n not d former impossibility. We all wait n see.I also hp ur. Misguided supporters noted how use all manner of corrupt gimmicks to av ur way in d health sector,u jes admitted u guys r putting lotta pressure on d judge,we will see whr it ends.Lest I forget,I saw ur dubious n fraudulent table thead of earning of of d various professionals in the health sector,I can never undastand y u guys no dey fear God.we'll continue following d issues sha. .......the judge admitted he was under pressure to skew the judgment. he didn't say from what side.as regards the salary thread,I didn't create it. |
is she the Army's surgeon general or the nations surgeon general in charge of public health? if she is not,who is the nations surgeon general and what are his/her qualifications? |
Joenz: A very good move by JOHESU and this will put an end to this very issue that has lingered for far too long.Left to some of us,this would have been done a long time ago.I ask,is anything wrong in NMA and its allied associations vis ARD,MDCAN,ASSOPON etc registering as trade union? We await the decision of the court while reminding the NMA of the its probable humiliation if the court first order that status quo should be maintained. My olive branch to NMA,avert this impending public disgrace now by doing the needful,a stich in time saves nine they say! ......the earlier you realise that JOHESU is inconsequential in this matter, the better for you.your HOR are busy running helter skelter to save the situation.abi you no see elumelu dey shake like leaf for TV? let me tell you what will happen.the money will eventually be released WITH APOLOGIES. the issue of consultancy and directorship will be difficult for JOHESU.already the judg in the matter is hiding because the heat has become too much. if you have not seen that NMA has the yam and the knife,then......... ![]() |
I want to hear okonjo iweala open her mouth today to tell elumelu the country is broke. clowns. this country that earned 760+ billion naira in may. let them release the 7billion needed and then answer the key question:WHO HAS THE FINAL DECISION ON A PATIENT? |
comedy!! |
jpphilips: I must consider Tbamo's advise at this point for the sake of this thread, if I further this discussion, you will likely drag me to your vile level and beat me with your years of practice but before I leave you to continue your romance with the jungle, I must say that If you call yourself a medical practitioner who wish to become a consultant but you fail to identify an impostor in your profession, forgive me to say that you don't have the mental capacity to handle patients let alone identify a fake doctor who manged to sneak past security in your clinic.Haaaaaaaaaa!!!!! JP!!! ![]() |
Tbamo: I am a doctor and I think you've gone below the belt!you are right. I take it back.thanks for the correction. ![]() |
jpphilips: I hope that starting your comment with my name is not an invitation, the last time I checked, I opened the thread so feel free to come into the ring, If after going through my posts and you still think I am a doctor then I must have over stated your IQ, I must warn you, with this IQ of a tadpole, what Phantom served you will be child's play to what I will dish out for you.look, jp, some people are dense.it takes a while before they assimilate things.it can be a frustrating experience making them learn new things. she looks to me like one of those.I will try, take my time and teach her. evolution filters out many of such people BUT a few still manage to slip through. fact of life! so I basically see it as a mistake of nature.easier for me to deal with them without getting pissed. |
where are the mods? |
