UBA did well than Access Bank when you compare margins. UBA took lesser impairment, giving out better dividend and more efficient.
Though result still fell short of expectation. Zenith Bank is the king this year. Emefiele might be helping Zenith sha. Emefiele and Jim Ovia alliance.
Up next, tier 2 banks and First bank. |

Seems like the bulls are returning. Zenith Bank Deserve to be in the 40 something range.
No time for laggards. DF should just release the surprise na. Either way, life goes on. |

For the first time in a long while bids are far exceeding offers in Access Bank. These manipulators/MM will not kill person. See the way they mopping offers at N10.75 like some one rushing gold. Let's see how far the defence works. |

tiar: The EPS you are referencing may not truly be what it is. So, behind the curtains they may actually be paying more of their actual EPS but prefer to have a better EPS than a better dividend yield and a worse EPS. The impairments have been going on for awhile and have been delayed and covered up. The shackles are gradually being loosened.
Banking results are all about optics in Nigeria. 'How best to arrange myself to look good even if I do not feel good inside.' You may be very right. The part you bolded holds true. |

Agbalowomeri: Evidence of cooked results It is seems so. Corporate governance is being sacrificed in most coys. In Nigeria, it now quite to difficult to predict the growth of companies because of bad management. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by PharmAlfred: 6:38pm On Mar 21, 2018 |
Access Bank has Axed shareholders. Looks like it took more impairment in 2017 than 2016. Wigwe is probably doing fine boy and not adding real value to the bank.
They are only paying out 28% of their EPS. That's rather poor for a bank has no restriction on dividend payment. |

Romeo3: So here i was enjoying a conversation with this girl, but couldn't help but wonder how people are still doing stuff they hate in 2018.... Forget the dead Samsung she was holding. This girl couldn't be more than 26 years old, but she has a car. A car she only bought last year as an investment for uber. Yes, she is diversifying her investment... Wisdom.
Now there are lessons to be learnt from this young auditor rider of mine:
She has a job millions could kill for, but she hates her job, and isn't finding fufillment and happiness in it.
She makes enough money to change her phones every month, but she sticks to an almost dead Samsung. I see someone with set priorities. Someone who only buys stuff when she needs it. I didn't talk to her about her phone or her lifestyle, but you could tell that one day, she will get tired of auditing, and face her true calling in life: fashion designing.
Humility. Owning the world shouldn't make you pompous and arrogant. Shouldn't make you treat anyone like trash or talk down on anyone. Everyone has their forte. Like I told her yesterday, do your auditing, while I do my navigation and driving. 1 - 1. no cheating.
There are good hard-working ladies. but they are very scarce. It's so easy to see when someone is different because you are used to vice. I have met too many stupid girls I can't count, so anytime i meet a good girl, it's almost a celebration, like, are you for real?
If you are unhappy with what you do, it's not too late to make a U turn and be on the right path..... If you take a fish out of the water and ask that fish to climb a tree, it wi'll live all it's life thinking it's dumb and useless. You are a fish... look for your water and swim to happiness. No one is dumb or lazy. Mental laziness is what kills people's morale. Their inability to think out of the box. That's why you see engineering graduates working in a bank. But this is a country that is lacking in mechanics. But because you erroneously think that being a mechanic is a dirty job, you will prefer to kill your potential.... potential that could make you millions being a sophisticated mechanic, working with computers to diagnose and fix car problems..... you will rather kill that potential and work in a bank because you believe you will be clean enough to take pictures for Instagram and look fresh because of ac, accept to take home a meagre salary just to count other people's money while you kill and bury your own potential... Let me tell you something. You are just a fool. And you will continue to be foolish until you change your ways and get on the right path.
My discussions with the auditor cut across many spheres. Got her to her destination and she asked if my number was on whatsapp.... I said yes, and she said she'll be in touch.
If only she knew... She looks like the kind of person I will like. Not for her money or her job. Just for being real. It is something lacking in many girls one comes across these days. |

Mpeace: I am selling my FBNH today. I mean all of it. I will re enter after q4 2017result is out. I just saw something now that is not too encouraging dividend wise. Out of their q3 PAT of 45.8 billion, their Commercial Banking arm contributed 37.3billion, while others brought in 8.5 billion. If the new CBN rule should be applied here then the commercial banking arm will not contribute to dividend. In the long run, I dont see them paying more than 30kobo as dividend although PAT will increase very significantly. Disclaimer: I am not an insider neither am I close to anyone that is close to anyone that knows an insider. Pls help us check for Access, UBA, DS and DF result. You are more than an insider. Just get us the facts. |

IchimokuPilot: My Oga, kindly throw more light. The cash involved, even the commissions involved, can embolden you to slap Dangote, especially that it is a deal across the river. Looks like a fight involving a Lion and an African Buffalo. We need to know the cause of conflict as well. Who is firing and who is taking cover? We certainly need more info on the Access Bank cross deal. The volume and money involved is quite heavy. Why did the person or entity sell? Who is the buyer and why did he buy? We are talking about multiple billions of naira here. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by PharmAlfred: 3:17pm On Mar 09, 2018 |
What happened in Access today needs to be investigated. Is that multiple billion naira figure I am seeing there? #15b plus. Who sold to who? Who bought from who?

onegentleguy: Just got an unconfirmed Info that the coperate governance index (also known as CG INDEX) of the Nigerian Stock Exchange have just added banking Stocks ACCESS BANK, UBA together with cement manufacturing coy LAFARGE WAPCO PLC to the NSE-PREMIUM BOARD. ...This should bring to 6 the total no of coys listed therein following the 1st of initial entrants of DANGOTE CEMENT, FIRST BANK AND ZENITH BANK. My take is that this could very likely lead to an increased buying pressure on the new additions by investors with interest in well governed coys. It might interest u to know that the NSE PREMIUM BOARD is assigned to companies with a good coperate governance rating by the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
My take is that this is a healthy move for ACCESS, UBA and LAFARGE WAPCO especially the banking sector if it does materialize. Thank you for the info. But do you(we) think this will have any real implication on the SP of the mentioned stocks? |
