@phemorhino

Your redress is acceptable but in the op case , i will still stick to " my employer is my sponsor . Reason is that there must be an agreement -bond betw i and my employer which is a very good ties for me to return back to Nigeria .

Another point is that , my employer as a company or an organisation have more than enough funds than i or my family , therefore the VO will not even doubt my employer's financial capability .

1. Now to answer your question , i would tell the VO thus :. My employer is sponsoring me because within the space of my 2 years working with the organisation , i have been able to cover more than 75% of my targets , hence their decision to send me abroad in order to widen my international experience in my department because we 're expanding our branches across Africa in the next 3 years.

God Bless Nigeria .
Your last sentence cannot fly because NSCDC is a paramilitary organization, hence you cannot say you will be expanding anywhere, because they are located in all the LGAs and LCDAs across Nigeria. Also, saying you covered 75% of your target, as what? there is no department or unit in Civil Defence that has to do with any personnel having any targets to increasing revenue, meaning, NSCDC does not generate revenue of any sort.

@Bolanle .

1). Many factors contributed to your F1 rejection eg , you 're going on a F1 study with your family and with funding that is not up to a quarter which leaves u with approximately %40, 000 deficit and u think VO will accept that logic of family sponsor ?

2). VO does not always ask where have u been to ? The question should have been , Have u travel out of your country b4 ? She asked u because she saw your consistent travels to uae which looks like a deceit to claim travel history to the VO.

3). The response you gave to the question ' why GCU is your home goal like u scored inside your own net giving opponent the edge and the twin questions that trows u off balance are ' Is this for promotion ? & Do you have a student permit to this effect ?

4. In your situation your best sponsor is your employer .

God bless Nigerians .
I like your points, but the employer as sponsor part wont work, because she has spent just 2yrs at NSCDC. If she claims her employer as her sponsor, the next question will be “ why is your employer sponsoring you?”

Press Statement

Sokoto killing: Northern Fanatics plan to spark riots in South West cities, Oodua group asks residents to be alert

Ibadan, May 14, 2022 Extremists from Northern Nigeria already in large numbers across Yorubaland are planning violent riots across Yoruba territories, a Pan Yoruba group has warned.

The group said it has credible intelligence that fanatics may exploite the Sokoto gruesome killing to unleash terror on Yorubaland

Apapo Oodua Koya, (AOKOYA) said killing of Samuel Deborah may spark riots led by Fulani fanatics already hibernating in Yoruba territories, the Yoruba self determination group warned on Saturday

Apapo O'odua Koya, (AOKOYA) said it has received intelligence reports that some Northern fanatics of Fulani extraction are planning uprising in the South West using the Sokoto killing as an excuse.

"We have received intelligence reports of plans by some Northern fanatics and terrorist cells in Yorubaland to instigate riots. They are holding meetings and planning how to cause mayhem in Yoruba towns" AOKOYA in a statement signed by Ahmed Akorede said

The group said credible intelligence indicated that the rioters plan to use the Sokoto gory event to launch attacks on innocent people across Yorubaland.

AOKOYA blamed the South West Governors for giving a blank ticket to Okada Riders from the Northern states who have invaded all Yoruba cities even when many Northern states have banned their operations. AOKOYA said it portrays the Governors as naive and lacking in wisdom.

"We urge the usually reluctant, naive and hapless State Governors to wake up. The livelihood of Yoruba people is at a peril. The Governors should not be blindfolded by parochial political ambition. They should realise that the life of the Yoruba people is at stake.Yoruba people, women and children who are usually not armed while the Fulani and Hausa residents in Yoruba towns and villages are usually armed with knives and daggers where ever they go are at great risk" Akorede said

AOKOYA said the Sokoto killing is religious but also ethnic. "If Deborah had been a Fulani Christian they won't kill her in that manner. What we are seeing is a prelude to greater chaos the Fulani wish to unleash on Nigeria before the 2023 Presidential election to create a state of siege so as to justify tenure extension or a state of emergency in the country."

AOKOYA urges Estates, Community Development Associations, (CDAs), Pan Yoruba groups to work together to form a formidable resistance against the possible attacks by the fanatics.

The group said the terrorists at present occupy strategic places in Yorubaland including Mile 12, Mile 2, Lagos-Ibadan Highway, Sabo in Ibadan and Ile Ife, Ilorin while Yoruba highways and farmlands they have taken over. They also guide Yoruba markets, streets and private homes. This puts the Yoruba at a grievous disadvantage. But with intelligence and careful planning, we can defend and protect our land against violent attacks by those who hate and disdain Yoruba with cruel hatred"

Signed
Ahmed Akorede

VISA INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT

Interview Date: 6th May, 2022
Location: Abuja
Funding: Fully funded
First Attempt
Program: PhD Biological Scinece
School: University of Illinois
Status: *Approved*✅

VO: Good morning

Me: Morning sir (I didn't hear what he said very well, I passed my i-20 and passport

VO: Have you travelled before?

Me: Not at all

VO: Do your capturing

Me: I did my biometric capture

VO : Why did you choose UI?

Me : In my search for universities offering combination of Molecular Biology and Neurobiology, I came across UI as one of the best schools offering the double. However, being the only public research university at Chicago, UI offers me the laboratory research experience I need.

VO: What do you do?

Me: I am University lecturer at so so University, where i currently teach ... (He has already started typing while I focus my eyes on cimpletely on his eyeballs and whenever he looked at my direction, he saw my face looking relaxed).

VO: What is your plan after this program?

Me: I will be coming back to Nigeria to continue my lecturing job.

VO: Are you married?

Me: ( I didn't hear this one very well, so I asked him to repeat himself like 3 times). Yes

VO: When was that?

Me: 2018

VO: Is your wife going with you?

Me: She will be coming to visit

VO kept typing and after asked again, you said your wife will be visiting you

Me: Yes please, she will be visiting.

I didn't even hear what VO was saying at a point though (other VOs were speaking louder but then I knew he wasn't asking me any question.
The guy stood up to go to paper side, there were three types of paper. The blue, the white and the yellow paper in that order. As he reached out for the white I knew it's approval.
He then attached the white paper to my i-20 and gave me
I only heard pick your passport bla bla bla, and I said thank you

PS: Pray well
Be bold (probably be singing or speaking in tongues quietly before your time so that you charge your vocal system before you are called)
Eye contact must be 100%
Don't rush to answer any question, particularly the ones you didn't hear well.
Ask the VO to repeat the questions you either did not hear well or your brain couldn't immediately get an answer to, it is also a strategy to quickly gather a good response rather than stammering and saying rubbish (I asked VO to repeat a question 3 times when I didn't hear him). Amount of words you say do not matter, it is in the substance of your response
Know your story very well, any question can be asked in any order
Don't tell plenty story, no time. Say the most important things first and be as brief as possible
Please go to the embassy early (they don't check your appointment time before they interview you, but it saves you emotional and physical stress if you go there early)

VO didn't ask about my funding. He already saw that in my i-20. No document was also requested for except the i-20 i gave him.

I wasn't even eager to answer any question like that. Once I respond and he nods his head and start typing, I keep quiet and focus on him so that I won't say what I'm not supposed to say

All the best guys

I decided to share, since I have benefitted from other people experiences too
Congratulations

Oh! Lol.

Just use standard delivery. $10!

Don’t bother with courier, because you don’t really need the hard copy. They would send soft copy for you after the evaluation. That you will be using for school(s) applications.

You get?
I get you bro
But I’m not sure you understand me o
Me I’m saying that using that ETX will be faster since it is email to email from my school and WES
Or is it the same time frame?

Thanks for your prompt response bro.

And i saw that it is way cheaper than using courier ($258 compared to $154)
Am i on track or na me dey see things in an Ijebu way?

Oh! You already stated her on your last database. Since consistency is one of the key in this journey, you’ve to keep it at that pace, that you have someone there. Unless, she’s not your immediate relative (maybe not same surname), then you can easily remove her from the picture.
To my own understanding, K1 visa route isn’t still that strong for a VO to not think the person came in ‘illegally’, they believe and on paper that it’s VISA LOTTERY that’s the only means why ‘you’ should be in USA up till now.

PS: Hope the school you’re applying for and to ain’t in same state/city with her own? Easily Red Flag, so avoid!

My 2cent!

Luck.
Thank you for this.
She is my immediate younger sister that got married to a US citizen.
Her surname has changed to her husband’s own.She has also been a citizen since 2019.
The schools i applied to are not any way close to where she resides.
Thank you

Via VISA LOTTERY? If yes, safe! If not, I doubt it ‘safety’.

Not that it’s not possible oh, but it’s like gamble, you can go through or not. You get??
What of my sister that is a US citizen. Became a citizen through K1 visa. Is it also a gamble?
Also note, i was denied b1/b2 in 2016 while i stated i was going to her place for vacation. Ive never applied again sha
