Rilwayne001:
It has always been, the problem is with the leaders. In the first place the regions shouldn't have been merged into an entity. Evidently, the difference between the tribes differs so much that they cannot be intertwined, but for the sake of greediness and lord knows the reason, we were merged which in turn have always resulted in hate and enmity from all side.

Seeing those graphics pics up there, seriously my heart bleeds. Why do we take delight in violence? No matter we can always settle things amicably if the marriage was true, but because it's fake and has always been, small kerfuffles escalates to bigger violence.

I can't blame any tribe for what happened in Ile-ife because we don't know what prompted it, but how the two sides managed it is what is giving me concern.

From the sketchy reports so far, obviously the Hausa man that slapped the woman was totally wrong. And you know too well that no other tribe can try such a thing anywhere in the northern part of the country and come out alive. I'm very certain if reverse had been the case, the violence would have totally gotten out of hand, innocent non northerner would swim in their own blood. But then the NuRTW that retaliated in this scenario have always been known to be troublesome sets of people, if not, normal sane person would have gotten the man that slapped the woman arrested and the justice would've been meted out without shedding any blood.

The whole point here is that, the hate is obvious among us all. yoruba have always been cool-headed among other tribes in the country and its obvious they are tired of taking shit from anybody again. And trust by the time we all stand up that we are tired of the union, it will happen without any problem whatsoever.

The hate is real and its time to go. Division is imminent.
Awesome, only sensible comment on this thread. God bless u

PoliticsFayose Slam FG On Zakzaky And His Wife by phemy36(op): 11:50pm On Feb 02, 2017
Court should jail those disobeying its order on Zakzaky, wife’s release - Fayose
Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged the judiciary to continue to be courageous and see to it that officials of the federal government that are disobeying court orders, especially the Federal High Court, Abuja judgement, ordering the release of the leader of the Shi’ite Muslim sect, Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zeenah Ibraheem are jailed.
The governor, who praised the judiciary for standing firm in defence of the rule of law, said; “the federal government must proof to the whole world that Ibrahim Zakzaky is still alive by releasing him as ordered by the court.”
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said the filing of notice of contempt proceedings against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Director General of Department of State Services (DSS) over the disobedience of a court order for Zakzaky’s release was a step in the right direction.
Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja had on December 2, 2016 awarded a cumulative sum of N50 million to the Zakzakys and ordered the AGF and IGP to provide him a new accommodation and security in any part of Kaduna or Northern region that they prefer within 45 days, but 60 days after, the judgment is yet to be obeyed.
Governor Fayose, who described as wicked and inhuman, the continued detention of Zakzaky and his wife since December 2015, after the murder of over 300 of his followers; said; “It is even more ridiculous that the DSS claimed that its refusal to release the cleric and his wife was to protect them.
The governor said; “Obviously, the DSS must be hiding something on this Zakzaky matter because it does not make sense for an agency of government to keep someone in detention for over one year and claim that he is being protected. Against what are they protecting a man who wants his freedom?”
Governor Fayose reminded Nigerians that he had said that the federal government won’t obey the judgment; saying that the APC led federal government was the number one law breaker in the country.
He said; "Like Justice Kolawole’s judgment, which ordered the release of Zakzaky and his wife is for posterity, committing those disobeying the judgment to prison will also be on record even if they don’t obey it, and when one day, sanity returns to our body polity, Nigerians will have it on record those who ruled their country like a fiefdom.”
Describing the continuous disobedience to court orders by the federal government as direct invitation to anarchy, the governor said; “Even the military still obeyed court judgements but here we are with a democratically elected government that holds our constitution with contempt.
"The judiciary must therefore have to remain steadfast in its uphold of the rule of law, by punishing those treating the court with contempt so as to save democracy from being destroyed by those presently holding the country by the jugular and do not want anyone that is not in the same political camp with them to exist.”
PoliticsTwo Herdsmen Docked In Ekiti State Over Destruction Of Farmland And Crops by phemy36(op): 10:59pm On Jan 17, 2017

PoliticsAssessment On An Institution With All Political Parties by phemy36(op): 6:22pm On Jul 10, 2016
Twenty one (21) senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors. The current senators who once served ar governors are Bukola Saraki,Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,Kabiru Gaya,Godwill Akpabio,Theodore Orji,Abdullahi Adamu,Sam Egwu,Shaaba Lafiaji,Joshua Dariye,Jonah Jang,Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,Ahmed Sani Yarima,Danjuma Goje,Bukar Abba Ibrahim,Adamu Aliero,George Akume,Isiaka Adeleke. The former deputy governors in the senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi,Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe.Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba. Many former governors are also in Buhari's cabinet as ministers. This includes: Ngige,Fayemi,Fashola (SAN) and Amaechi. In Akwa Ibom state, the law provides that ex-governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and security utility vehicle every four years: one personal aid;a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding #5m per month and #2.1m for his deputy governor. In Rivers, the law provides 100% of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and his deputy governor, one residential house for the former governor "anywhere of his choice in Nigeria";one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for ex-govenor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years. It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at #5 00m in Lagos and #700m in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years, and a #30m pension annually for life. This is reality for all the 21 ex-governors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex-governors who are now serving as ministers. NOW I ASK: How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be outrageous? As if that is not enough: How on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria? IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE..... Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like David Mark. Yet these senators are in the senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pocket approximately #30m monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating states/Regions to save the coumtry from sectional agitations that threatning to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us. Do you know that it costs tax payers #290m yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works and 80% of population earn below 300 naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; its more than the salary of 42 army generals or 48 professor or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US president or 9times the salary of US congressmen. Please say NO to looting of Nigeria in the name of democracy. I think the country must have a referendum on salaries of senators: This must happen very fast quickly. If the government can we the masses must revolve and this is the right time.

@phemy36, it's unfortunate you have been brainwashed to spew the trash you have just posted. The moment you see any of these present day politicians as your savior, you're finished. Imagine the poor grammar you just vomited here. The children of Any of these politicians you are ignorantly defending would not speak the kind of poor grammar you displayed here because they went to better schools, eat good food, and live in good environment, while you roam the streets. And all the money they use to do these is tax-payers' money- our commonwealth.
And there you're telling me if anyone questions Fayose, you would mobilize other touts in your domain to attack him. Did you listen to yourself? Don't you have a life? Are you not a human being like the politicians and their children? Or are you a second- grade, second-hand human being? Why such high level of inferiority complex? You talk as if you're a slave.
I'm a true-born of Ekiti. I'm raised to play, reason, live and work at the same level with my peers. Back in schools, some of us were even better than some of the so called politicians and their children. Maybe, it's because of someone like you I was inspired to write the piece, Politician Are Servants. Read it, and have a re-think, or remain as slave forever!
They need to know It's embarrassing the way people polarize every argument along political lines.
Let me make it clear here and now, we are not all politicians. I'm not a politician. I'm a seeker of good governance. So, I don't see any politician as my role model. I don't see politicians as Demi-gods. So, I don't worship them. I see them as Servants of the masses. Because that's what they told us they wanna be when they came to ask for our votes. And if they don't serve well, I criticize them. Some of us have better jobs and even receive better salaries than some of the so called politicians. We respect their office, though. But if they abuse the office, we criticize them. We recommend them for investigation and prosecution. And if found guilty, they should be sent to jail, like any other criminals.
It's ridiculous the way some people, who even live below poverty line, worship these politicians. It could only be due to two reasons: either lack of self-esteem or absolute ignorance. In Nigeria today, politicians are our worst enemies. They keep deceiving the masses. They work on their psychic. They eat corn with you by the road side. You go home happy with bloated tummy,

In one of my write-ups, on Nairaland , in June 10, 2016, I posited that politicians are liabilities, and not assets. See the write up below. So it's embarrassing when I express my view, and some political jobbers begin to present oral diarrhea.

These political jobbers should allow us to talk to our Servants. We need to put them on their toes. The money they spend is our collective money. Their lives, their families and their businesses survive on tax payers' money. Their sustenance depend on our commonwealth. Some of them were even poor, jobless, and of little education before we gave them the opportunity to serve us. They should be grateful to us. They should even worship us! They are our servants! So, they are accountable to us. That's my mentality.

Your post show ur level of maturity. I don't want to reply your post before but change my mind. If you are matured, you will not abuse the person you don't know on public forum created for effective communication by a being like you to prove a point. I rearly comment on this forum because of your type. If you care to know, i was trainned by a professor & was train on how to relate with others and to also respect their sense of judgement which you absolutely lack. If you are wise, you will simply counter my point without insulting to show that you know much. Read what you wrote again and reply me back if it does not contain error. I'm not a politician, so save the trash you wrote for you & your child. For your information, i'm very close to most ekiti politician & know the happening in their mist, they are all friends and do have a meet point, unlike you. Note: if any of your generation graduate with the grade i graduated with in mathematics dept. (OAU), You will appreciate God. Lastly, can you intelligently answer the question i post to you in my first comment.

Silvofitz:
EKITI ARISE! A CLARION CALL TO ALL EKITI STAKEHOLDERS ALL OVER THE WORLD

It's high time we put aside our political differences, our political affiliations and whatever that separate us, and cleaved to that which would guarantee good governance, and alleviate the sufferings of our kinspersons in Ekiti land. It's high time we stood for good governance. It's high time we realized the reason for our desire for a change of baton during the administration of Dr. Fayemi. It's high time we stopped talking of political parties. We cannot pretend not to know that all is not well with our dear state. And no one should remind anyone that it's a general phenomenon all over the country, Nigeria.
If the current trails of accusation against our incumbent governor, His Excellency Ayodele Fayose, are true; it's high time we rebuked him.
Whichever way it's used to expose any form of self-enrichment or stealing of our commonwealth is acceptable. Be it witch-hunt, persecution, or prosecution. As long as it's established that our money was stolen, it's an injustice against Ekiti people.
It's time to let the world know that, The people of Ekiti extraction, who know Fayose right from the beginning: his hay days at the motor park in Molete/Challenge Ibadan, his shoddy stint at Ibadan Polytechnic and the attendant OND/HND certificate drama, his first advent in Ekiti state house and his inglorious exit, his alleged backdoor second advent, and his impending doom, if found guilty; cannot be moved by any antics.
We should let the world know what we want is good governance, and whosoever can give that to us is welcomed irrespective of his political party. It's time to let the world know that Most of the people singing the praises of corrupt politicians are either people of questionable character, or people who are innocently ignorant, or people who depend on politics for a living.
A true born Ekiti with intact integrity does not celebrate stealing , mediocrity, or sycophancy.
Our Dear Governor Fayose should know that time is the decider of all things. If he's stolen, time will tell.
In the end, the truth would be exposed. And it would leave no one in doubt. It's a matter of time.
The clock is ticking. The time is fast approaching. The day of reckoning is here!
If the son of the next neighbor is stealing, does that make it unnecessary to chastise my own son for stealing? If it's proven, whether by witch-hunt, persecution or prosecution that Fayose has stolen, he must be made to face the wrath of the law .
It's time we stop interfering with government investigators.
And we must know, that if this administration shields any corrupt persons in Ekiti by virtue of political alliances, another administration would come and do justice to that. Who ever knew that those who were eating our yam yesterday could be made to vomit them today?
We are Ekiti! We are honorable people.
God bless Ekiti State.
God bless Nigeria.
