For me the question is why France TV So they gave her free airtime for this? Why and how is it France? Someone needs to trace and explain that link asap And also a career activist at 22 in Nigeria is a joke. She knows nothing, has contributed nothing to Governance other than been a spectator and critic. She has not earned her stripes she should go and sit down till she can tell us what sector she has contributed something to for Nigeria and it's populace While it's okay for Nigeria to indulge her.Shame on France for encouraging this ...but again we should be saying " we see you france'" and your new stooge on the block. |
PS there are probably cultists in every association in today's university (religious ones not exempted) Rewrite this with the title how to end cultism amongst today's youth |
Kegites use to be a sociocultural club for the promotion of the african culture Synonyms... Egb elemu, palmwine drinkers association etc They dress in their regalia(usually an African attire) gather at leas tonce a week and drink palm wine from calabashes while they sing African songs to the local drums to their hearts content.Other serious matters may be discussions that relate to African culture I guess.never attended Think of the average English pub filled with young men discussing politics or "ingland" , the old African village market square etc. They were young men gathering the African way to do what young men do for leisure ... Drink ,sing ,gather in public and have fun What they have now become I do not know, but I don't think anyone should be banning any club that promotes African culture or values especially such an old one at that. If they have any challenges they should be assisted to be reformed especially by their old members and the school system In today's world of high anxiety amongst youths, depression and suicide...they are a reminder tha young men should take things easy, sing and have fun too and not everyone will do your fellowship setting(fact) Summary-Let the kegites be just advice them on reforms that may help I will conclude by letting you know in one of the lamentations in the bible.the person praying for help noted how the young men "do not sing songs again" as evidence their land was not in a happy state. Let the young men sing and be happy. They should also drink if they so desire, but all should be done in moderation. |
twilliamx:You forgot to add despite no allocation from FG which all States and Lagos needed to survive at that time |
GRV addressing Lagos civil service is like. Eri Erin ni abata..... |
Eredo of all places. Do you even know the depth of indigenous history associated with that place? Why take your campaign train and divisive slogans there of all places? |
Joe igbokwe and the LBS man would have been more worthy candidates should the eastern heritage truly want a competitive shot at Lagos Governance. But those ones have sense to refuse a post like that |
On experience sanwoolu had Lagos state administrative experience ,it's governance process and was familiar with its 20 year master plan |
We have one song on Saturday. It's "eko oni baje o.......... |
As an addendum because I may not be chanced to follow this thread. This MC oluomo that you are all mentioning anyhow has a constituency that revers him A lot of us never even put a face to the name till recently. He is the subject of legends and myths,in the 90's he was like the subject of whispers and speculation. An MC that was the king of boys who had nothing to loose or look forward to...the hardened kind of boys that even your Scotland yard cannot imagine. Somehow Those boys and their vices were brought to order ,and lagosians could ply and live in oshodi with no fear. Today we now see pictures of MC everywhere some are also passing comments up and down because you came yesterday and thrived with no knowledge of the history of Lagos and the men tha contributed to the process. I repeat this man is more than you all think he is.Someone needs to help with us with that history. Like I mentioned some of us only heard whispers of what seemed like a legend. |
When you get into an environment and you are able to put forth new ideas and they thrive. Someone kept the place conducive enough for that to happen Over the years thuggery and street violence in Lagos has reduced drastically. if in doubt ask South Africa. In Lagos you mostly walk the streets of your home with no fear of gun violence or an unknown bursting your car. Save for isolated incidences. The fear for you life is very low. And you all party all night average 3ce a week. In some cities in Nigeria you can't hold your phone and be talking on the streets after 6pm the hood boys will do the needful The ability to keep the streets in order has the police force and the men who call the boys to order playing a key role in the process The sanity of the streets of oshodi (which you could not pass anyhow in the 80's and 90's without your bags or bodies sliced amongst other vices) and other places in Lagos is because some people kept those thugs at bay.Kept them in order through a System. They were supported by Government who produced the needed infrastructure and support through constructive community engagement You all now mock those men who have a role that's more significant than yours in that order that you enjoy because you believe you are better than them. Some one needs to write a book on the progress of Lagos.Because we have a new generation of pharoahs that appear not know what all the Joseph's had passed through, achieved and done for the ambience they enjoy now. There is a reason oluomo was been proposed as the king of oshodi and the official head of Lagos states transport union. The man has earned his stripes. If in doubt ask South Africa violence rates how it came to be. Someone kept the streets at bay. |
Non of them have any prior adminstrative skills with the Lagos civil service or any Nigerian Governance administrative structure Bunch of clowns. Since it's Harvard and MIT they are promoting let them go and run for US senate |
lomaxx:Sanwoolu is very safe come Saturday 1.Saturday all Yoruba who refrained from voting will vote. 2.All Yoruba youths will vot sanwoolu 3.All yorubabChristians who voted for Obi will vote sanwoolu It is best you all stop insulting sanwoolu and appreciate the LP victory in Lagos and all who supported the party. Ibo votes alone did not make the LP victory |
Let us give honour to whom honour is due. May God Bless and keep the President Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria May we experience God's mercy, help and Favour under your rule May God bless Nigeria and her people |
Charleys:I have been waiting for this point.Labour party actually started as a Yoruba party.in recent history Mimiko and others used the LP to offset ruling parties and achieve unprecedented win The point is how come Obi could not consolidate on those people structures and history for 25 percent in a historically strong LP state like ondo and others? In summary he did not try enough. He is a candidate that cannot build bridges but builds walls. He could not even win over PDP, nor LP . He definitely cannot Lead a country of 36 states and over 250 tribes We need a candidate that can build allegiances and negotiate alliances for majority states. For not winning 25% of 25 states,Obi is not that man He may be the president you want but he is definitely not the one Nigeria needs. He should go learn to build bridges and try again |
Did LP expect 25% in Ekiti? Ekiti people will not vote for Obi now. Same with ondo and osun.Ironically they are majority Christian states but not of the winners and eneche denomination In addition they are not in support of the eastern culture and it's persons attitudes it just doesn't go well with theirs. Who was Obi's ally for those states? So did they really expect Obi to win 25 percent in Ekiti state? |
Same goes for the oniru incidence, those thugs have lords. Its silly to assume APC runs the whole of Lagos streets or Yoruba streets. It's clearly odd to think the oniru will sanction such violence at his doorstep when he will be the first to be blamed There are elements in Lagos promoting this mischievous narratives ,it's best for all to stay calm and not heat the polity |
You all need to stop spreading fake news.. To start with everyhood in Lagos is under the control of one faction or the other. If you know the history of the streets you will know who runs where. They all have Lagos family affiliations which eventually runs along party lines and alleigance for particular candidates. They do not operate outside each others jurisdiction. this part of Lagos you are all clamouring about, its obviously not an APC clique running it.If it were 1. The Oba of Lagos palace somewhere in that axis would not have been sacked with no quick response 2.Its quite normal to see factions fight there, like violent fights.to maintain peace the streets are divided like the Mexican gangs during those periods, those from street x don't pass through y etc. 3.its been like that since forever in that particular hood. A quiet market day can turn into people running helter skelter and guns flash out in broad daylight but they only attack each other. But everybody runs 4. This appears to be one of those... How fake news have made it about the ibos I'm not sure. However I advice every sane person to stay clear of those areas for now. What normal person decides to go to mandilas to Stoke "political trouble" at a time like this..is that not madness |
OtunbaJ:Who is this one disparaging the Ooni with no knowledge of the history and issues this single move has addressed in the unity of its monarchy system? This OOni has been the most progressive for the unity of the Yoruba rac through a united mornachy, and the promotion of the Yoruba culture. This is the OOni orisha and the Paramount ruler of the Oyo in one city to welcome a dignitary. There were assurances by the late Alaafin to ensure ife and Oyo work to together for the progress of the yoruba. If the symbolism and historical reference of this is missed by your type, then I can't help you. That said when prince Charles was around didn't all your major kings leave their palaces and turn up in another city other than their own to receive him? |
This is what I Love about the Yoruba culture. To know their true minds watch their actions very closely. Key word is actions not duty. They do not use words but action. When they act with one voice, they have spoken. With this move, the Yorubas have spoken clearly. The culture supercedes all and there will be no breaking in their ranks. Interesting to watch history unfold |
The guy with the plaited hair is good branding for their vision. Ekiti with their backwardness could use his branding to promote themselves or they may just stone him .. you can't be sure what you get with them Let's all remember the school girl flogged terribly an shamed for her cute haircut...maybe she will get a laptop too. |
Good countermove from Lagos I am impressed.... We need one of those hat doffing memes here... Nicely played |
Seun this should b confirmed before front-page. If true something ought to be done about cultism and it's abuse of women in that state. |
helpee:I see the medical personnel have finally woken to their moral duty of educating the public Good one,we must not stay silent and let jungle justice thrive. God bless you all and please keep it up |
BlueRayDick:Dont mind them, that's why Nigeria is wack . We use emotions where our systems should kick in.If we shut every school in Lagos because there was a scandal or non epidemic death (without investigation) will that be a good practice? Where is the States protocol? Please note epidemic cause of death have protocols which will automatically lead to the school been shut asap. In addition they are investigated and usually confirmed with 24-48hrs. What and where is Lagos States protocol a SC regards deaths reported in a school? What circumstance and How many days should the school be shut? How long should the investigation be,when and on what grounds will the school be opened? If this answers where not provided when the school was been shut, then yes its a classic (knee jerk response). And that is very bad for the country. |
buJu234:It happens in rich and poor schools.Only rich schools get a response such as this from Govt. Its pretentious over Sabi not based on any systems or proven protocols. There is a reason justice is said to be blind.True Justice is devoid of grandstanding and pretentiousness.Lagos States response in the absence of any panel or protocol is just that. Nigeria does not need that,we need protocols and systems that is known to all and enforced on all both rich and poor. |
Chrisland parents should sue How many deaths from cholera back then did it take before Lagos closed down queen's college More than 1 This was not an epidemic yet the school was closed down...till when and why What happened to innocent till proven guilty.Looks like they are validating the social media jungle justice trend Lagos is wrong on this one.except there's other info. And if there is they should let us know for precedence sake |
gaspology:How many scandals did you hear of in your secondary school days? All school had 1 or 2. If we close schools or refuse to use them as a result of the actions of some stupid secondary school students outside school. Will any of your school's abroad still exist? uK secondary schools are now coming to recruit in Nigeria for boarding secondary schooling in the UK. Is that not ridiculous? Serious capital flight because we are demarketting our own schools ourselves I know of parents who wanted to send their kids to boarding secondary school in Nigeria from abroad, but the Dowen story settled that matter. We should stop this trend of demarketting Nigeria and her institutions,it has long term effects beyond just mere beer parlour gossips |
Pinkyposh:It Is very possible, and most likely (based on all evidence available so far) that the whole Nigeria owes the Dowen 5 an apology. You all tried to pull an "aluu 4" on those kids on social media You all should stop pointing fingers with unsubstantiated evidence. This is another example of such a case leave it to those trained on these matters to conclude |
For those not informed, when a person dies under questionable circumstances,or brought in dead, a coroners autopsy must be done by the police (it's a law) before the body can be buried A murder case cannot be made in such case without a "coroners" |
This belongs to a competent court with finings of a corners autopsy Rushing to social media is like calling thief thief...it's a call for jungle justice on the school and I dividuals that may be innocent. That is wrong of the parents and this trend should be condemned.(e.g the Dowen boys) |
It's no enough that they were rescued where are those who kidnapped them? We need special courts to fast track the conviction of kidnappers this is compulsory and must be expedited We need to see the maximum penalty by law carried out on kidnappers to end this menace Now they are kidnapping little kids.... And everyone is still silent. |
