maasoap:
The scale of destruction of lives and properties in Kano was enormous and no any other attack is comparable to it. The man hail from Kano, a pure coincidence. The constitutional right of CBN to donate, I don't know. But you definitely can't question the moral right of the CBN to do so. All of you criticizing the gesture are religious bigots. That is the peak of religious intolerance we're talking about. If this donation has been to a state in your region, will all of you be crying the same way you're doing now? These are the people that were defending Erastus and Ibru then, now they just discovered that they're in the same league with Sanusi. Hypocrites.
Get ur facts right, it was reported that about 350 people were killed in Benue when Tiv and Fulani herdsmen clashed, while about 185 were killed in Kano. Is CBN only interested in BH victims?

@Jarus, I think it is better to differentiate his political views from his position as Governor of CBN. For me, he talks too much, has a large ego and is part of the cabal that Nigeria does not need now. Check his antecedents at First Bank, he was 'Emperor Showman'. It is the same I-too-know attitude and showmanship that is the trademark of his tenure at the CBN. So much gra gra.
I'v come to understand that most smart and intelligent men are more often accused of being proud, I believe its more of self confidence than pride.

A more useful data will be to look at what the State and Federal governments actually spend on capital and recurrent expenditures at the end of each fiscal year.

To budget is one thing, To stick to the budget is another thing
I really wish we can get access to such info but the only problem we might encounter could be manipulation of data by the governors. Is there no Office that does such work in the country?

Any chance you could get Lagos budget since 1978 even without breakdown to capital vs recurrent?
That would be extra nice of you.

I still find it difficult to understand why the FG has continously given us a budget that is more interested in maintaining and keeping civil servants happy than being development oriented. Considering that the FG and our state govts run similar structure, I still wonder why the states are able to devote a very high percentage of their budget (e.g Rivers and Imo) to capital expenditure which the FG is seeing as being "impossible".

The FG has continually gaven us a budget that is far below our expectation year in year out with recurrent expenditure running to as high as 70%. Considering that the state govts run a similar structure with our FG why has it been so difficult for our FG to cut down its recurrent expenditure to atleast 50% since some state govts (e.g Rivers and Imo) presented a budget with a recurrent expenditure as low as 26.4 and 27% respectively. Are our state Governors more development conscious than our FG?

Soludo was celebrated but later discarded by Nigerians but was taken up by a foreign institution.

Nuhu Elrufai was celebrated but later discarded by Nigerians but was taken up by a foreign country.

Oby Ezekwesili was celebrated but later discarded but was taken up by a foreign institution.

Now Ngozi who was celebrated is about to be discarded for the second time.

I pity my countrymen, A people that disgrace its own prophets should not cry foul when calamity comes calling.

I think Nigeria should be interested in uprooting the root of corruption in the system rather than be envious of her few successful citizens.

What has the class she graduated with got to do with the current situation in the country if not envy, Why have our great First Class professors that are busy sleeping with students across our campuses not been able to achieve half of her achievements both within and outside the country?

Question: Why am I not surprised?
Answer: Because they are fully aware of what it takes to bring about a WILD-WILD north.

Question: What is the way forward?
Answer: Introduce an element of suspicion in their gathering and get them to fight themselves then and only then will you hear them vomit the attrocities they'v commited against this nation.
