A Common say among the people of in south West Nigeria says " Every day is for a thief, one day is for the owner", This was the case yesterday (21/3/13) at Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State, when a young man, who claimed to be 23yrs old was caught performing what he said he has practiced for 5years, He also said he works in an quarry (name withheld). The young man was apprehended, after stealing phones , laptops, cloths, food items and money belonging to some students of COHEST Ijero Ekiti.
His timing was so right, but unfortunately for Him, a female student was in one of the rooms where the 23yr Old attempts to steal from. It was this female student who raised alarm lead to bring down the thief (or police will call it suspect).
He was immediately showered with massive beaten from the students, he was also striped naked, before he was handed over to the police. It was clear the he is not a students of the health institution.

FamilyMan Who Constantly Molests His Daughters And Grand Daughter Arrested by phlame(op): 2:40pm On Mar 21, 2013
A seven-year-old girl (name withheld), has accused her 49-year-old father of rape.

The girl said her father, Sylvester Ehijele, had on numerous occasions had sex with her, adding that he used to promise to buy her goodies and toys before the actions.

She said he usually had sex with her on a daily basis whenever her mother was not home.

She said, “Whenever my mum is not at home, he grabs me, forces his hand over my mouth and then inserts his penis into my private part. He promises to buy me a car, cake and biscuit but he doesn’t buy anything for me.

“He also threatens to use a knife to gouge my eyes out anytime I threaten to report to my mother.”

Sylvester’s wife, Margaret, told PUNCH Metro that he (Ehijele) also raped their 23-year-old daughter when she was much younger and recently, he raped their one-year-old granddaughter that lives with them.

She said, “I am a caterer. In 2006 I went to Abuja for a catering job where I spent five days. But at about 1am, my first daughter, who was about 17-years-old at the time, called me on the phone crying that her father raped her that night.

“When I returned, I confronted him but he beat me up and he continued to molest our daughter and each time I confronted him, it earned me a beating. I had no choice but to leave him when I got fed up with seeing him molesting our daughter and later sleeping with me. I took my six children and we relocated.”

She said in 2011, Sylvester’s family settled their differences and urged the couple to reconcile for the sake of the children.

She said her husband swore never to touch any of his daughters again and she reluctantly returned to her husband’s house.

Margaret said she was however disappointed to find out that less than a year after moving in with her husband, he went back to his old ways.

She said, “We reconciled in May 2011 and I really thought he had changed but in August last year, I caught him in a compromising situation with our seven-year-old daughter. I called her out and she told me how her father had constantly been abusing her.

“Again, I confronted him and he beat me up. I had to pick my daughter and ran to his brother’s house, where I stayed for three days before I went back home.”

Mrs. Ehijele said she continued to cope with her husband’s ways until he finally raped their 15-month-old granddaughter.

She said, “Because my oldest daughter works, we decided to put her daughter baby at a day care in Ejigbo. I have always been the only one that brings her back at 6pm everyday from the day care. But on that particular day, my husband went to the day care and after an altercation with the teacher, he took the baby home.

“He took the baby home and hours later the baby was crying profusely. When I got home, the baby was still crying and I wondered what was wrong. When I finally took off her diapers so I could bathe her, I noticed she was bleeding in her private part. When I raised the alarm, my husband was unnerved. That was when I suspected him.

“I rushed down to the Ejigbo Police Station and reported the matter.”

Margaret said she had been married to the suspect for over 23 years and lamented that he had had carnal knowledge of all their daughters.

“I have two daughters, four sons and a granddaughter. Sadly, my husband has raped all of the females,” she said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect would soon be charged to court on charges of defilement.

“The suspect is in the habit of sleeping with his daughters and now his granddaughter. We have the doctor’s report which shows that the girls have been defiled,” she said.

A copy of medical report issued by the Isolo General Hospital reads in part that, “The vaginal hymens of the girls are no longer intact.”

Sylvester however denied the allegation, adding that it was his wife that poisoned his daughters’ minds against him.

He said his wife left him initially because he had refused to pay her dowry.

He said, “If I was the one that raped them, let me die. My wife and I were separated for four years and it was because her family said I hadn’t paid her bride price. After we reconciled, she told my daughters to tell lies against me in order to disgrace me.

“Even my oldest daughter confessed to my family that I never raped her and that it was my wife that told her to lie.”

When quizzed about the medical report, Sylvester said it was not authentic.

PoliticsMan Who Lost Wife, Son To Governor Mimoko’s Election Rituals by phlame(op): 5:03pm On Mar 05, 2013
History is characterized by tragic irony. Mr. Ademuyiwa Adeyeye, a former aide of Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, must have thought the steps he allegedly took to ensure the victory of the governor in 2007 governorship election in the state would change his life for better. But tragically, the steps led him and members of his family to sorrow, tears, blood and death.

In his shocking revelation in an interview programme on the only private radio station [ADABA FM] in the state last Friday, claimed they took several lives in different parts of Ondo state to ensure Mimiko’s victory in 2007 election.

Ademuyiwa revealed that Governor Mimiko sent him, the late Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Oye Alademehin, the late Senator Iwakun and one other person to India to consult marabouts.

According to him, they also went to a town in Ijebu land where they were told to go and be killing goats in different towns and villages in the state.

The lot fell on Ademuyiwa to kill the goats. But without knowing, he was killing human beings. After the killing, Ademuyiwa, who said he was well known among members of the drivers’ union [NURTW], said he met his wife on his way back and hugged her, but immediately his wife developed swelling breasts.

He said he spent all his fortunes on his wife’s health. Doctor eventually told him the wife had cancer of the breast and had to remove the pair of breasts. At the end of the day, he lost the wife. He also told listeners that he lost one of his children.

Revealing this, Ademuyiwa said “We went to India to make rituals. When we got to Ondo State, the governor and late Alademehin [a.k.a Dead Body] said we had to kill goats in different parts of the state for peace to reign. Of course, I was the one that killed the goats without knowing that I was killing human beings. On my way back, my wife met and hugged me. Her breasts began to swell. I took her to different traditional healing homes.

“When I did not get good result, I took her to the hospital. It was at this point that the doctor said it was cancer of the breast. They removed the two breasts, yet I lost her. I also lost my son. It was at this point that I was advised to go to a church in Lagos. It was there I met T.B Joshua who is from Akoko, he said I should go and confess my sins to the people of Ondo State”.

While narrating how they started the spiritual’s trip, Ademuyiwa explained that “When we were coming from Ijebu where will were giving a python snake which would bbe an instrument for the governor, some people laid spiritual ambush for us. Alademehin told me to drive on, because I was the one that drove the car, I told him no.

“He now called the Ijebu herbalist who told us that he already saw it. He then removed the embargo; we brought the snake and dropped it very close to the governor’s pond in Ondo. It is still there as I speak with you. If you doubt my story, go there. You will see the snake. You can also tune your TV to the Emmanuel TV and you will see my deliverance there.

“Everybody in the drivers’ union knows me very well. The governor came to me with N3million after losing my wife and a child. I told him I don’t want blood money again. I want peace in my family, not blood money”.

“When I visited the T.B Joshua’s church, [Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos ]the man of God told him to go and confess his sin, saying that he was the only precondition for him not to lose other children.

“I want you to forgive me. I don’t want to lose any of my children again. I have lost one of them as well as my wife. The man of God that comes from Akoko land with a big and popular Church in Lagos told me that until I confess and ask for your forgiveness, I will lose more people in my family. Every members of the drivers’ union knows me very well. The man of God gave me anointed water. I want you to tune to his TV channel if you are in doubt. You will see the day I was delivered” He said.

According to him, a python was given to them by one of the herbalists in Ijebu land. The dangerous snake, he said, is currently around Mimiko’s fish pond in Ondo town.

Speaking on the ordeal of his wife, Ademuyiwa said, the late Hon. Alademehin came to his aid by giving him money. He said among the people that went for that ritual, he was the only one that is alive and not afflicted by any disease, but not without losing his wife and one of his children,

His words, “I am the only one who is still alive and not afflicted by any serious ailment among the four of us who perform the rituals for Mimiko. After seeing the snake, I asked late Senator Iwakun if there would not be any repercussion. Iwakun said he did not mind whatever repercussion that might arise from killings and the python charm. Four days later, Iwakun gave up the ghost.

“Before the death of Iwakun, Hon. Oye Alademehin had an intractable ailment that led to his premature death. Governor Mimiko visited him on his sick bed in one of the Lagos hospital and promised him that he would take care of his family since he laid down his life for him to become the governor of the state. The last person that was privy to the devilish act is at Alagbaka in Akure, currently battling with paralysis.

“When the man suffered the killer ailment, Governor Mimiko gave him N6million. But that money could not cure his infirmity”.

PoliticsC-o-n-f-u-s-e-d! Why We Are Building Mega School In Niger Republic, - Kano Gov. by phlame(op): 2:42pm On Mar 04, 2013
**our children who will go there will be trained in French so that when they graduate, they will stay there and complete their degree courses.

Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said at the weekend that the state government is building mega secondary school in Niger Republic to boast industrialization.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen after the just concluded 34th Kaduna international trade fair, the governor said industrialization has its foundation in good educational background.
“Industrialization means a lot to us, especially in Kano State, and it is beyond just building industries; it’s beyond just establishing canteens and shops. Ours start right from primary education to secondary education, to tertiary institutions.

The trend we were used to before has completely changed, and I believe that in many years to come, things will change, so the best way to be relevant today and in the future is to be educated. That is why we are encouraging our young men, women and children to be educated. It is also for that reason that we have free primary education, and distribute free books five times a week,” he said.
He stated that the state government has built over 1,500 class rooms in the past one year, and has trained teachers to ensure quality education.

“We have so far built 400 houses for teachers in junior secondary schools, especially the once outside the city of Kano to encourage them.
As we are sitting here today (Saturday) the deputy governor is in Niger laying the foundation of the mega secondary school which we intend to run together with the government of Niger Republic, and our children who will go there will be trained in French so that when they graduate, they will stay there and complete their degree courses or go to other French speaking countries to do other programmes,” he said.

PoliticsOsun: Bill Proposes Stiffer Penalties For R*pists Including Cutting Off Of Manho by phlame(op): 12:53pm On Feb 28, 2013
Potential defilers in Osun state will now have to think twice before perpetrating their dastardly act as the state government has sent a bill to the House of Assembly seeking stiffer penalties for defilers; including cutting off the man-hood.

Mrs. Mofolake Adegboyega, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, gave the indication yesterday in Osogbo while speaking with newsmen. Among other penalties, she said that the bill recommended the cutting off of the “third leg.”

The commissioner was quoted as saying that the “Violence Against Women and Children Bill,’” was aimed at reducing the cases of r*pe in the state.

The commissioner, who expressed sadness at the increasing trend, especially, that of minors, said the state government was seeking out possible solutions.

According to her, one of the ways of curbing the problem is the bill, which has been sent to the House of Assembly. She said the bill would spell out details of punishment for culprits within the armbits of the law.

Adegboyega while stressing that the proposed penalty of cutting off the manhood of a defiler as mild, cited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where legs and even heads of culprits are cut off for serious offences.

@OP,where do you stay?Cost of foodstuffs and every other thing varies depending on where you shop even in same city.Perhaps your friends wife buys rotten pepper and tomatoes(cheaper, risky) or goes to the early morning markets to buy directly from the village women who sale at cheap wholesale prizes.
Have you eaten from your friends wife pot?have you seen the quality of soup they make?
Is your friend the type that would give their wives peanuts for feeding the family cos they barely eat from the family pot?he stops by the canteen to eat his fill and spend good money for that?

The only cure and solution is for you to take charge of the kitchen for say 1 month.Buy all the foodstuff and make sure you eat atleast twice per day at home.before you leave the house, count all the fish/meat,mark the yam and hide the bags of rice, beans et all.

How many women fill their gas cookers themselves with the food money given to them? I also didn't know that electricity bill and fueling was part of food money oh

Okay what exactly does she buy...whole chicken, how many? Iced fish, how many cartons? Garri...one bag. Beef, how much? Rice, one bag. Beans, half or one bag. Yam...if they live in Lagos...Mile 12 should take care of that...if she stays in any other state...there will always be a market where she can get yams. Fresh tomatoes, how much really? Seeing that I get fresh good tomatoes 400(I don't do rotten ones) naira exclusive of peppers in uyo and then mixed with tin tomatoes...the stew takes me for two weeks.
Note that: I feed my sister...my boyfriend drops in every evening...her friends drop in to eat...and I use less than 40k per month...granted buying in whole sale could deplete your purse 'at first'...I buy in wholesale...but this means you won't have to need the same 40k/month...in fact you will have excess cash overtime...so in my own opinion...40k is okay for the both of them.
So @op...as people have suggested...try to check her budget and cash flow

PropertiesNews : Demolition Of N10bn Abuja Estate Causes Ripples by phlame(op): 11:37am On Oct 15, 2012
The demolition of a 500-unit housing estate in Abuja by the Development Control Department of the Federal Capital Development Administration is causing ripples and has pitted private developers against some government officials.

Officials of the FCTA and some members of the Senate Committee on the FCT allegedly stormed the Minanuel Estate, Lugbe Extension 1, along the Airport Road, to carry out the demolition allegedly under instructions from the Minister of the FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed.

The monumental loss to the developers and residents of the estate has set tongues wagging, with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria and other stakeholders calling for the sacking of the minister and payment of adequate compensation to all those affected by the demolition.

The stakeholders on Wednesday expressed shock at the demolition of the estate, whose worth they put at about N10bn, while the developer is exploring the possibility of instituting a legal action against the FCDA.

The estate was developed by Minanuel Investment Limited for low income workers and other individuals in line with the National Housing Policy.

According to the firm, the land on which the demolished estate was built was acquired genuinely from the FCDA in 2010 and all documents related to the land and buildings were obtained from the appropriate agencies of government.

The company said, “As at the time of the absurd and unwholesome demolition of the 500 housing units, over 341 Nigerian workers and other low income earners have been allocated houses in the estate.

“Ironically, all the beneficiaries have their allocations approved and the buildings have reached advanced stages before this dastardly demolition exercise. The demolition started on Saturday, September 29, 2012 amid tight security provided by stern-looking mobile policemen. The operation, which lasted for three days, saw the entire estate brought to the ground.”

Giving a background to the demolition exercise, the spokesman for Minanuel Investment Limited, Mr. Chukwuma Ogbuagu, in a statement made available to one of our correspondents on Friday, said few days to the demolition, the Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Smart Adeyemi, allegedly accused the developer in a radio broadcast programme of trespassing into the land allocated to senators and called on the firm to liaise with the appropriate authorities.

“But surprisingly, the bulldozers came calling two days after Senator Adeyemi raised the issue of trespassing,” added Ogbuagu.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, after the demolition, the Director, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Mr. Yahaya Yusuf, reportedly said during a press conference that some estate developers built houses along the road with backdated allocation documents in spite of the notices issued to them.

“To put the record straight and evidently too, Minanuel Estate was not built along the road and its allocation documents not backdated. With the two contradicting statements from Senator Smart Adeyemi and Mr. Yahaya Yusuf of AMMC, one suspects a foul play in the demolition exercise,” Ogbuagu said.

He also faulted Yahaya’s claim that the demolition affected estates belonging to the Nigerian Prisons Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and Liberty Estate, as no other estate apart from Minanuel Estate was touched.

He said, “At worst, the FCT minister was expected to have toed the path of caution, considering the huge investments in the neighbourhood of N10bn and the psychological effect of the demolition on Nigerians, who have acquired the houses and choose to dialogue or engage in consultation. But the minister threw to the winds all caution and the multiplier effects of his action.

“The estate developer also refutes the obnoxious claim of Yahaya that the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria was carried along on the demolition. Minanuel Limited, as a prominent member of REDAN, had no prior notice to the demolition exercise. As a law-abiding organisation, the company would not have gone ahead to develop an estate that cost over N10bn on an illegal land.”

The Chairperson, REDAN, FCT chapter, Mrs. Binta Ibrahim, who spoke with journalists at the site on Wednesday, described the demolition as an economic waste, stressing that it would not in any way help the transformation agenda of the present administration.

She said the demolished houses, which had reached over 80 per cent completion, were to be handed over to the beneficiaries by the end of this month.

Ibrahim wondered how the country could effectively address the issue of unemployment, youth restiveness and insecurity when people were being laid off through the demolition exercise.

She said, “This is total economic waste. We want to appeal to the government, particularly the Development Control of the FCDA, that the present executive in FCT REDAN is ready for discussion. We are supposed to be partners in progress. The level of waste we are witnessing here today will definitely not help the transformation agenda of Mr. President. You cannot achieve economic stability with this kind of wastage. The number of workers that will be laid off as a result of this demolition, I am sure, will be more than 1,000.

“We are talking about peace, about security. I want to advise my members today that they should step down every development anywhere in the FCT so that we will not go back to square one.

A consultant to Minanuel Investments, Mr. Festus Adebayo, said that the estate was dully acquired with valid documents.

He said, “The company set out and acquired the Minanuel Estate land from Messrs NCR & Associates in 2004. The papers and other documents to support the development are valid, free from all encumbrances before and after the company took possession of the land.

“It is sad and provocative that, without warning or notice to us, these houses built with contributors’ money and bank loans could be demolished in one swoop in a country with over 18 million housing deficit.”

The Head of Legal Department, Minanuel Investments, Mr. Nwoke Kalu, explained that there was no prior notice before the government decided to carry out the demolition.

“As we are gathering here today, I can categorically state that we were not issued any notice. If they are saying they do, we are asking them to come up with the notices,” he said.

Kalu deplored the haste at which the destruction was carried out; explaining that, by that singular action, the hope of owing befitting houses by some people had been dashed.

Condemning the demolition, the President, Association of Property Agents of Nigeria, Mr. K. M. Chile, described it as man’s inhumanity to fellow men and alleged ethnic undertone to the exercise.

“There were other options if there was any conflict in the ownership of the land; there is a tribunal set up for that purpose, the courts are also there and all these options were not exhausted before the callous destruction of an indigenous investment valued at over N10bn,” he said.

Officials of the FCDA declined to comment on the development when approached by one of our correspondents, while calls to Adeyemi’s telephone number were unanswered.

However, a member of the Senate Committee on the FCT, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said if the developer could come up with evidences of legal acquisition of the land, adequate compensation should be paid by FCT Administration.

CrimeUpdate On #aluu 4 Inspector General Of Police Abubakar Speaks by phlame(op): 5:51pm On Oct 11, 2012
University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students yesterday stayed put on the campus, vowing to burn more houses of the suspected killers of their colleagues in nearby Aluu community.Yesterday, soldiers and policemen were deployed in the community. The four lynched students are:Biringa Chiadika Lordson, Year Two, Theatre
Arts, U2010/1805036; Ugonna Kelechi Obuzor, Year Two, Geology, U2010/5565149 and Mike Lloyd Toku, Year Two, Civil Engineering, U2010/3010094.The fourth person, Tekena Erikena, who earlier did Basic Studies at UNIPORT, was yet to be formally identified as a student of the university. Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar vowed yesterday that the police will investigate the killings. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) urged the government to prosecute the suspects without delay. The soldiers and policemen barricaded the roads, checking the few people and vehicles passing. The community has been deserted by the residents, especially the vigilance members, who allegedly killed the young men.The spokesman of the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, Major Michael Etete, described the heavy deployment of soldiers and other security personnel as one of the proactive measures taken by the security agencies to quickly restore normalcy to the area. Rivers police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam, said the security men were there to protect lives and property of law-abiding citizens. Some students in the Faculty of Education, who were still on the campus, wondered why they would be forced out of their hostels, while protesting to ensure justice. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Rivers State chapter, called for the sack of the PoliceCommissioner, Mohammed Indabawa; Ugwuegbulam and the area’s Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for alleged dereliction of duties. The online video clip of the murder showed that it took some hours before the four students were murdered. They were paraded naked round the community, before being clubbed to death. All of them did not die at the same time. When the mob was sure that all the four students, who were alleged to have stolen mobile phones and laptops, were dead, they put tyres on their necks and took time to drench them with petrol and set them ablaze.“We are also worried by the refusal of ordinary Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers in times of need. We note that the UNIPORT Four would not have died, if some of those who witnessed the sad event made genuine efforts to save their lives by reaching the police, other security agencies or even radio stations.”Inspector General of Police Abubakar who spoke in Lagos on his way from Turkey, said: “I am aware of the situation. I have been briefed on it even while in Turkey, we are on it, we are commencing investigation; the investigation will tell what exactly has happened. I want to assure all Nigerians that we are doing our best to bring out all the culprits of that very ugly incident and we shall not, under my administration, and this government will not tolerate any such barbaric act in this country and you will hear from me as soon as I get the brief from the commissioner of police and the AIG.”He added: “Investigation is on. I don’t want to give you the number of persons that have been arrested.” On the killing of students in Mubi, Adamawa State, Abubakar said:” It is still under investigation too. We are making progress and I will say that we are making very good progress on that and you will hear from me soon.”He also spoke on the activities of vigilance groups, saying:” No vigilance group is supposed to operate directly, except under the administration and operational control of the police and any vigilance group that is not so registered and which will not comply with the rules and regulations is operating illegally.” The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) yesterday called for the prosecution of the killers of the students. Its President, Okey Wali (SAN), spoke at the inauguration of the NBA working group on strategic planning in Abuja. “There is no disputing the fact that these show a total system failure. Neither of these dastardly acts took place in a time frame that the security agencies would not have arrived at the scenes and prevented the murders, if there had been timely intervention,” he said.“Wali urge the government to intensify efforts to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of the inhuman acts and their collaborators to serve as deterrent. “Nothing short of the identification and prosecution of the Mubi and Aluu Killers and collaborators will assuage the feelings of Nigerians,” he added. The Nation Newspaper
