Markab: You've got a good profile here. However, I once fell of victim of this your scenario, I applied to university of Manitoba stating a name of a supervisor while applying without contacting him. Lo and behold, I got rejected with reason of non acceptance by the proposed supervisor. Please contact him/her immediately.
Did you apply for a Course based or research master's degree? In either case, you must contact them, that's UofM for you. Mine was course based It is well. I got accepted to University of Manitoba without any green light from potential supervisor. I inputed the name of an associate professor with related research interest during the application, I sent him an email, no response. The best thing to do is ensure you understand the department application process you're applying to, strong statement of intent(Biographical sketch) and good letter of recommendation. |

jnyuwa02: I am actually looking at the questionnaire right now cos I had to fill out myself. Question 9 asked you to "please provide your academic history from secondary school to date." You were suppose to provide every school you have attended, starting first with the secondary school you attended. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you since you have explained the problem via email and you got a response. You proactively handled the problem it seems and you should be fine. Hello bro, I sent you a mail |

Vickenny: Hello, please i would like to apply to University of Saskatchewan and University of Manitoba for MSC in Agric Economics (Research based). Have done my findings and those are the two schools that best fit my course. My CGPA is 3.63/5 although I think for the last two years it is more because I sent my result to University of Saskatchewan, it was rated 77%. My question now is do you think I should write a GMAT to increase my chances of getting an admission especially to Manitoba? Thank you Hello dear, Writing a GRE to apply for Msc. Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics at University of Manitoba will increase your chances of been accepted but you don't need to write GRE or GMAT for Msc. Agricultural Economics at University of Saskatchawen. Applications are evaluated based on the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and transcripts. You can also consider DALHOSIE UNIVERSITY, McGill University, University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, Lethbridge University, and University of Winnipeg. |

Phocusjosh: The value of these fellowships is $18,000 (Ph.D.) and is $14,000 (Master’s) for a 12 month period. Students are eligible to receive the UMGF for the first 24 months of their Master’s program and the first 48 months of their PhD program.
Eligibility:
Academic standing: Students with a minimum GPA of 3.75 (above B+) at a recognized university based on a Bachelor, Masters, Graduate Diploma or a Doctoral degree. Please use admissions criteria in calculating GPA, i.e., last 60 credit hours or equivalent.
Citizenship: All students regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply.
Fields of study: Students in all fields of graduate study (with the exception of those in the Faculty of Medicine and in the Master of Business Administration [MBA]) are eligible to apply.
You must also meet the specific eligibility criteria set by the Department/Faculty, if any. Every department has their own quota of scholarship. Kindly contact your department for the UMGF. I got this from the department If the Department receives funding for a UMGF in 2018, the competition will be held in Feb/Mar. Applications will also be accepted at that time for other Department awards. We will let you know closer to the time when the deadline for applications is. |

cuspy: OK. Did you secure a supervisor? you really don’t need a supervisor to secure your admission. All new grad students are expected to at least have finished first semester and observed which lecturer and area fits their interest and strengths. |
