'my husband please don't do this to me!' Ekemma yelled. She jumped and held his hand tightly. Her eyes were red and blazing with desperation. Uzokwe gazed at his wife and sighed. 'I do not think I can still bear the pain any longer' he lamented. He shooked his head and sighed again. He coughed and his breathing became faster. Ekemma rushed to get a cup of wator for him. On her way back, she heard a noise from the palm tree behind her house. The sound was very awry and scary. It was the sound of hooting owl. It hooted three times and stopped. Ekemma has been hearing the sound in the past but that particular one was different. It sent a cold shiver down her spine. It was a bad omen. Her heart began to palpitate with fear. Odour of death and decay filled her nostrils. She ran with the cup of water into her husband's room and her eyes went straight to the place he was laying. He was still alive; he was breathing. Ekemma sighed with relief. She gave the cup of water to her husband who took only one gulp and stopped. He held her hand and looked into her eyes. It was very deep. Ekemma returned the gaze. No word was uttered but it was a deep conversation. The type that exists between two hearts that are united by love. "Be strong, my lovely wife and i know that you will be." Uzokwe said and smiled softly. "I will be strong my dear husband but only if......" she could not finish the response. It was of no need again because just at that point, Uzokwe breathed his last and died. It was like a bombshell for Ekemma. With clenched teeths and eyes blazing with zeal, she shook with all her might. Such zeal and might can wake up one from a state of coma. But all was futile, Uzokwe was dead. Ekemma stood up and gasped. She felt a heavy sensation in her heart. It was like a rising billows surging up within her, trying to blow her up. The pain was very deep and scalding. She was a very strong woman; life experience had made her so. But the death of Uzokwe has shattered the walls of her courage. She felt a strange fear within her soul, fear of the unknown. She closed her eyes and hot hot and salty tears dropped from her boodshot eyes. The eyes that had known no sleep since her husband was poisoned by his brother Ogbonna, a month ago. She has become a widow. That thought made her heart skip a beat out of fear. But it was a reality. She was perspiring. She wished she was drreaming but it was real. She remembered all the attrocious and inhuman actions meted out on widows in their village, mkpodu. She remembered how the "umunna", the male relatives will come to take away all that belong to their brother as she was a childless widowü then the umuada will come on the following day, the "umuada" the female relatives will come and shave her hair, wash the corpse of her husband and make her swear that she has no hand in the death of Uzokwe by drinking the water used in washing the corpse. Then she will sleep on bare floor beside the corpse of her husband for seven market days. She remembered all these and wailed uncontrollably. Thats the fate of every widow back then in the acient traditional igbo land.https://helzita..in/2016/07/the-widows-plight.html

Indeed it was and still is a very sad story,

Killing her was wrong, but she was a very stupid woman

Modified:
For those that qouted me please understand that this is my opinion and an opinion is entitled to everybody, I just believe that death is something most sane people would do anything to avoid and only stupid or mad people can walk right into it ,

Science/TechnologyScientist Discovered Easy Approach To Turn Human-produced Co2 To Harmless Rock by phoenix45(op): 10:17am On Jun 15, 2016
http://helzita..com/2016/06/scientist-has-discovered-easy-approach.html
U.N. Secret... motorist ac... 8 Simple T... In a recent breakthrough towards mitigating climate change, scientists have discovered a fast and permanent method to remove human-produced carbon dioxide from the atmosphere - by turning it into harmless rock.
A new research has revealed for the first time that the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) can be permanently and rapidly wiped away from the atmosphere, by cloning it into volcanic bedrock.
The CO2 reacts with the surrounding rock, forming environmentally benign minerals, researchers said.
Measures to tackle the problem of increasing greenhouse gas emissions and climate change are numerous. One approach is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), where CO2 is physically removed from the atmosphere and trapped underground.
Geoengineers have long explored the possibility of sealing CO2 gas in voids underground, such as in abandoned oil and gas reservoirs, but these are susceptible to leakage. So attention has now turned to the mineralisation of carbon to permanently dispose of CO2.
Until now it was thought that this process would take several hundreds to thousands of years and is therefore not a practical option.
The new study led by Columbia University, University of Iceland, University of Toulouse and Reykjavik Energy has demonstrated that it can take as little as two years.
“Our results show that between 95 and 98 per cent of the injected CO2 was mineralised over the period of less than two years, which is amazingly fast,” said lead author Dr Juerg Matter, from University of Southampton in the UK.
The gas was injected into a deep well at the study site in Iceland. As a volcanic island, Iceland is made up of 90 per cent basalt, a rock rich in calcium, magnesium and iron that are required for carbon mineralisation.
The CO2 is dissolved in water and carried down the well.
On contact with the target storage rocks, at 400-800 metres under the ground, the solution quickly reacts with the surrounding basaltic rock, forming carbonate minerals.
“Carbonate minerals do not leak out of the ground, thus our newly developed method results in permanent and environmentally friendly storage of CO2 emissions,” said Matter.
“On the other hand, basalt is one of the most common rock type on Earth, potentially providing one of the largest CO2 storage capacity,” Matter said.
To monitor what was happening underground, the team also injected ‘tracers’, chemical compounds that literally trace the transport path and reactivity of the CO2.
The researchers discovered that by the time the groundwater had migrated to the monitoring wells, the concentration of the tracers - and therefore the CO2 - had diminished, indicating that mineralisation had occurred.
“Storing CO2 as carbonate minerals significantly enhances storage security which should improve public acceptance of Carbon Capture and Storage as a climate change mitigation technology,” Matter added.
The study was published in the journal Science.

Science/TechnologyFacebook Introduces 360 Degree Photos by phoenix45(op): 6:58pm On Jun 11, 2016
http://helzita..co.ke/2016/06/facebook-introduces-360-degree-photos.html?m=1
Social media giant Facebook on Thursday introduced a new feature that enables users upload and view 360-
degrees photos right in the News Feed, a media report
said.
“Along with 360 photos from your friends and family,
you can discover stunning new 360 photos on Facebook from public figures, publishers, and other
organisations,” technology website The Verge quoted
Andy Huang, Product Manager, Facebook, as saying.
“360 photos give you the ability to take the stage in
front of 100,000 fans with Paul McCartney, get behind
—the—scenes access to the Supreme Court via The New York Times, visit the International Space Station
with NASA, and more,” he said.
After capturing a panorama or 360—degrees photo
with smartphone camera or a third—party app, users
can now post the photo directly to the social network,
where it will be converted into an image that can be viewed on desktop or any smartphone, the report
added.
Users will be able to identify the photos by the
compass icon floating on the upper right hand corner
of the image.
All they need to do is click and drag on the image to explore the complete environment, or simply move
their smartphone around. Users will be able to identify the photos by the
compass icon floating on the upper right hand
corner of the image.
