Waoo nice piece there... wat do people claim their sponsor does tho fairheart: It's weekend, so this is a long post, but I hope it's worth your time.
This is for those having interview before Spring resumption (and previously refused and hoping to do better in their next interview). I have noticed a trend of copycat on this thread. Although I am no longer surprised, I have to say this is not good. We discussed this last year but I guess the Nigerian education system has failed to train its students the art of ingenuity and being unique. So I am aware copycatting started in school. I know some of you copied the schools that offered you admission from people's transcript from this thread, but please don't copy their responses and go to the embassy to use the same phrase and narrative. Create your own!
The US embassy, in my opinion, has been honest to some extent. I remember hearing the story of different VOs complaining during educationUSA sessions about students saying the same thing at the embassy, such as why are people sponsoring students are into the same profession? Last year, the students on this thread almost murdered "Aside from the fact that..." while starting their answers to why this school. I remember writing angrily against it, but unfortunately, the same trend continues this year.
My advice for those of you with the upcoming interview is to stand out. Be yourself, and don't let the fear of "what is I am refused" shrink you. You are a unique person. Some people say it is only God that has no replica. It is a lie! No two human being in this world is the same. No matter your experiences, even if you're a twin, you have no replica. Everything about you is unique. Apply that uniqueness to the way you prepare for this interview and other areas of your life that you have hidden the original person that you are...because, after this interview, your view about life may not remain the same.
Don't go to the embassy saying what someone that has been approved said. Do you know if you're being interviewed by the same VO? Those who are close to me from this thread knows I don't entertain copycatting or numbing passion as a result of fear.
The ONLY reason I encourage interview transcript is that the method used by the US embassy for its interviews is the same used during a 2-minute professional pitch. If you have ever pitched an idea to someone who only has 3 minutes to wait and listen, you'd know what I mean. Have you wondered why the US embassy prefers interview to documentations? Because they want you to convince them with your own month, your own reasons, not by papers that can be packaged and take forever to verify. During a 2-minute pitch, you have to drive home salient points as soon as you are given the chance to talk. Now, if you know you are pitching to someone tomorrow, would you not prepare what you want to say based on who you are, what you do, what you want to do and achieve, and what you want to sell and convince the person to believe or buy? Of course!
The human mind cannot perform at its peak when there's fear in it. This is why some consular officers would tell the students to relax before/during the interview. They don't want you to be afraid so that you can speak/pitch to them. Where interview transcript has been used to articulate what you plan to pitch, this fear is subsided, you feel more confident--knowing that your proposed answers are based on your profile and things that interest you about the school, course, funding, etc.
Don't forget the God and time factor too. But if anybody tells you that you are not supposed to fail at something or receive disappointment if you have done the right thing or did your best, ask them to tell you why Abraham Lincoln failed many times during his life despite being one of the best Americans around during his time. You can't dissect or understand the twist and turns of life; you can only try your best and keep trying until you win in the things you lay your hands. All the best |

are you within the 60 days resumption bracket bro, and when did you pay ur sevis fee. wahabaa: I applied for an emergency date in Lagos and was denied on Monday. However, I still saw the emergency date option on my page so I applied for emergency again but didn't get a reply. I cancelled my Lagos appointment this afternoon and choose Abuja with same MRV. Scheduled January 6th. Then I applied for an emergency date again and was approved in less than an hour. Now I have scheduled Dec 9th.
I know that was strange to have used emergency request 3 times with same MRV, but this was simply God's grace to me. |

okk thanks bro. . someone also said I have to wait for 3 days after the payment of my sevis fee before i can apply for emergency interview. please could this be true.? Bellaluve: They don't work weekends, so I don't think they're included. To be on the safe side, wait till Thursday. Also, in addition to the i-120 and sevis receipt, also upload your admission letter and offer letter(like someone did somewhere above). And compose the mail well. Make sure you're within 60 days of resumption. To avoid denial |

yes it is. is it also true i can only apply for emergency 3 days after my sevis fee payment? Ftos: Does the option still remain on your dashboard? |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Phori: 6:11pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
if this is true, Does the three days include weekends please, cos i submitted my DS160 on friday donno if I can apply for emergency already. Ftos: We're you within 60 days to the start of your program when you requested for DS160? I think it takes 3 days after submission of DS160 and 3 days after sevis fee payment for it can reflect on there system. |

Do you have an idea why ur Emergency appointment was denied first before you apply to abj to avoid making same mistake. did u attach the neccesary doc like the i-20 ans sevis fee? tumie95: Please I was denied an emergency appointment in Lagos. And would like to try Abuja and then request for an emergency appointment. Would this lead to the forfeiture of my current mrv fee? As I would first have to cancel my appointment in Lagos. Because trying to reschedule only shows me farther available dates in Lagos. What do I do? |

my question tho is the 60 days the time to start of class or what. because for me i am suppose to be on ground at least 2 weeks to the start of class, so which date will be my 60days thedsl: Hi guys. I picked the April date and requested emergency appointment. Uploaded my I-20 and Sevis fee receipt but wasn’t within the 60 days they stated. They denied me the emergency appointment and I’m wondering if it’s the time factor that’s the reason.
For those who were denied too, what’s the way forward? Do I send an email and are they likely to respond? Or we just keep checking for available dates so we can reschedule? |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Phori: 2:34pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
have you applied for emergency interview before now? Lete: Hellos bro, I hope u are a guy....anyways, I have the same issue. I booked April and then requested for an emergency date. I was denied today, so I called them, the lady that picked said emergency appointment chances are only once, if u are denied u can’t reapply. And secondly the MRV can be used twice, so don’t bother about the warning.
Then she said nothing can be done now, the only thing now is for me to keep checking for earliest available dates as some will be announced soon.
So as e be now Na God hand person Dey. Except u want to pay another $160 and start ur reapplication.
Na prayer I Dey like this. But I believe God will finish what He has started.
Cheers |
