The thing about social networking is we need each other for a community to thrive, if all my friends are on WhatsApp I got to be on WhatsApp to connect with them, when I log into 2go and find nobody I'll leave, check them out on WhatsApp, after a while I stopped checking 2go, after a while I uninstalled the app

This is the same reason Telegram is not the default messaging app in Africa, people are used to WhatsApp, all our friends and family are on WhatsApp, bro you've got to give us free internet access for us to switch over, no kidding.

2go refused to pivot also, WhatsApp now has status, because without that people won't access the app unless they have messages, they want to keep you engaged, they want to give you a reason to open the app even when you haven't received a message notification. If only 2go had added a user feed, or a media status like that of WhatsApp, maybe it would have been a different story.

Would have made me feel good that my brothers from SA made a really popular social app.

Today all of Africa's social spaces are controlled by the western world, they know everything about us, even more than our government does. Yes, Facebook knows where you are now, your government doesn't even know where you currently live, they have no recent photo of you.

No, it does not. Customization and settings are retained even when you go back to the primary screen

You're welcome. I think you should try and fix the screen first. It's better even when you're certainly going to upgrade to a newer one.

After the screen is repaired, you could sell it to add up for a new one or give it for free to someone who would appreciate you for it.

There wasn't a problem, I just did this out of curiosity. And yes, my screen lights when the laptop is powered on.

Shut down the laptop, take out the battery and charger. Discharge laptop by pressing power button for few seconds.

Plug in your HDMI cable. (hope nothing is wrong with this as they are very prone to damage. Sometimes they just act up for no reason]

Insert battery or the charger or both. Power on the Pc and let it boot. Once you're sure boot is complete. Try using your shortcut key on the keyboard to switch display screen. If at this point it doesn't still work then something is wrong with:

1. Display drivers
2. HDMI cable
3. System isn't booting up (Maybe it's stuck on 'Diagnosing and Repairing process'

Or maybe you're pressing the wrong shortcut key for switching on your keyboard.

Your primary screen got cracked. Isn't it? Then it should be lit when the laptop is powered on. If all you have is a total black screen, you might have trouble telling whether the system is even booting at all or not.

SafeMode, as we know it, does not load non- system drivers and programs. This means that unsigned drivers as well as drivers that were not part of the window OS installation won't be loaded in SafeMode.

Most laptops do not have a functional display & HDMI driver until needed drivers are installed. Unfortunately, these drivers are not loaded in SafeMode. Hence for your secondary screen not displaying at SafeMoDE.

Since you can not see anything, just long press the power button to force shutdown and boot it up normally. (Have you tried this?)

Update your wifi driver.

If your wireless card is accessible at the back of the laptop like most fairly old laptops. Use screw driver to open the mini door and re insert the card.

You must run an office removal tool to clean and uninstalll previous 'One-click run' as well as other redundant files before starting a new installation.

Check google for such tools. KMSAuto has a very good collection that contains this removal tool.

Da explanation is not clear enough to Da reader. Are you saying da laptop has been on for 24hrs before Da sudden blackout or da laptop has been on da blackout for da past 24hrs despite being on?

Da blinking CapLock can give us da clue of what's wrong if you can tell us how many times da light blinked once powered on.

My guess is DAT DA laptop has DA fault with DA motherboard and you should visit a technician for a proper troubleshooting.

Your phone has problem with conflicting package names in your data partition.

Solution: The easiest is usually to uninstall the previous app and any other app bearing similar name.

Clearing data for playstore and uninstalling latest update on Google play services is another solution

You're mixing up the function of a transformer and a fuse. They are distinct things. A FUSE breaks a circuit as a means of protection while a TRANSFORMER does what you just described and it has nothing to do with the cable in question.

Theoretically it is possible as long as you bought an OEM batt, monitor charge and discharge cycles, Don't use your laptop more than 1hr daily and always reducing battery intensive tasks.

Technically, it is not possible. OEM can only guarantee a life span of 2yrs max that's if you are even lucky to get one.
Your daily usage will definitely not allow the battery that much service year.

Thanks, it was on vlc that I played it before and after the update, I downloaded a driver for it and it started working.
But I still have issue with my USB connection, anytime I connect it it refuses to show on the system but here's what shows in the drivers place.
It shows the name of the device but it keeps on telling me that driver is unavailable

Uninstall it and restart PC. I think that's an MTP driver for mtk devices. They often misbehave...

You can run a Driver Pack (DRP 20xx) while the phone is connected.

Another thing that sometimes work is getting other phone with mtk in it and connect. Once you can read the phone storage, disconnect and try yor phone again.

Try playing those videos on VLC. If they are not still playing and you're certain they played before the upgrade then get back here.
