Any laptop should power on without a hard disk drive installed. If it is not coming on despite being plugged to the charger then something is wrong with it and not because an HDD is absent from it. The battery might require replacement. See a technician for proper troubleshooting.

I didn't consider your answer an answer to the question where I asked whether you've tested the sensor's output because you can't just snap the same picture with different cameras and place them side by side then expect me to conclude that the cameras are similar since the images appear the same. That's why I used the word 'ANALYSE' in the prev post. Even GSM arena has their standard test for testing even cameras with the same mp.

Nice device. However, it is quite unfortunate how Transsion has made MTK P22 very popular. Now even novices who does not know jack about phones will be screaming " it is P22 therefore it is crap" all because they want to sound techy.

Their Elitebooks are rugged but they aren't budget friendly and none of their mobile workstation is budget friendly for those who can only afford a regular pc without those extra features. HP has models for the low end budget market. I was actually comparing their lines of affordable laptops to DELL's. I feel dell offers more value for money in terms of durable builds and features than HP.

I have changed cases and cables yet anytime i plug my HD into a computer it asks me to format it.

A recovery is possible after formatting it but that will come at a price.

You should run a chkdsk command on it.

Most times, mounting the HD in a linux environment will help you to copy out your files before formatting it.
