ijescorner: this is rather harsh of Nigerian women (most as you say)

Just keep in mind that men can be just as scandalous. Have you never heard of stories where women also train/support their so-called partners who then turn around and leave? Or men who marry women into getting citizenship and then disappear?

I think an ungrateful person will always be an ungrateful person regardless of gender!
Please can you support with examples also..

Patience suported Jonathan.. he is still with her to all our consternation
Women marry men for papers ... even more ... they become harpies once they land yonder ...

Amhappy: SAD. I remember when i was a child(9 yrs) i stood between my uncle and his first wife during a fight. My uncle was holding a cutlass. After that fight my mum warned me seriously but her advice for that woman neva left me. A dead person doesn't talk nor can she stand in judgement. When i got married that same uncle of mine warned my husband never to lay his hands on me for any reason. RIP to the woman.
hahaha,,,, our inherent hypocrisy ....

angelhair: I've been married for about 5years. My husband and I have had many problems and many good times but it seems recently the bad times out weigh the good. He has been cheating on me since the first year of marriage. I had to move out of the house because he was very physically violent.

I recently reconnected with an ex after 10years.The chemistry between us has ALWAYS been sizzling and as you can imagine, we got busy. Very very busy. The crazy part is, I don't even feel bad. My husband has been begging for a while and I know I'm going to go back and that the affair with my ex will fizzle out soon but I'm just seriously enjoying it. The attention, the sex, oh the sex. He and I can never be together ( our bodi too hot), but I find that I'm still as attracted to him as I was all those years ago.

I know what I have to do, but the flesh is weak. huh

Dont get me wrong

I endorse your notion that a woman should acheieve her potential but I am saying some may see theirs as being a helper

I feel that is a valid call

Professions as you call it are a result of the Industrial Revolution

You get?>

bukatyne: Pickabeau1,

I was just turning your idea that a woman's 'dream' might be to 'help her husband'

For a man that is an average worker or let's even say the manager/executive director, please highlight how the wife wants to help that she will make it 'her dream'

It is well...

Who is helping the young woman with arrangements - end of benefits, coordination as she will not be in such a state but those things are important

It happened to a colleague's relative who had heart issues
His wife is pregnant

Do you have the Biggie Duets... tight ish

pro01: I knew my fellow Biggie disciples would consider that comparison somewhat 'sacrilegious'. . . .that's why I issued a caveat, lol. It's just a personal opinion, and I really believe Da Grin was THAT good. I was a late convert though, but that CEO album IS phenomenal.

If you'd forgive me for comparing Da Grin to Biggie, then I'd suggest that Olamide is more like Nigeria's Lupe Fiasco, at best.

Events › Re: Uganda's Bebe Cool Outshines D'banj At Zimbabwe Beer Festival by pickabeau1: 5:33pm On Nov 05, 2013
Dude,,, how can you call Life after Death and daGrin in the same statement

Haba now..

compare him to lupe fiasco

pro01: Well, this 'regional star' classification get as e be No be by language alone. If we apply very strict criteria, then you would find that only a few of the so-called stars in Nigeria today are truly national stars.

Apart from the likes of P Square, Tuface, D'Banj (especially the old D'Banj), Don Jazzy, and perhaps Wizkid, I don't think anyone else is truly national. Only these ones can claim to have solid brand recognition and sizable fan base in every state of the country - including the Sharia/Boko haram havens up north. The rest are merely Lagos/Abuja/Port Harcourt stars at best, and that includes Phyno, Olamide, and the late Da Grin.

That said, I should point out that I am a great fan of Da Grin (I understand Yoruba). Dude's album is definitely one of my personal all time classics in contemporary hip-hop. . . .almost as good as Biggie's Life After Death. That is not so surprising since I consider him almost as good a lyricist as the Notorious B.I.G (and I don't mean to be sacrilegious).

safarigirl: i like you, you're an undercover Kokomonster. Dear, it's D'banj that performed in Zim n got booed off, we were on Wizkid 2wks ago for his Abuja failure, so no one is 'singling out' D'banj, if Davido or D'prince f's up, we'll diss em too. Every eediot has his day
Though you are gettin too caustic at times... i dey gbadun your points here

@Abagworo, when u say musicians like P-Square n Dbanj have staying power, it tells u more about the quality of naija music undecided

Im listening to David Guetta... now that is music

Dbanj gets it right once a while but musically he is nothing without D Jazz
Just as he is nothing witout D banj

They needed each other

Family › Re: The Woman: Her Destiny, Her Dreams, Her Talents And Her Man by pickabeau1: 5:08pm On Nov 05, 2013
bukatyne: It was not explicit on roles of men either
I think it is.. Genesis says the earth would not yield with out struggle

The Isrealites were mostly farmers and shepherds
Some became craftsmen and musicians etc

This was so until the Industrial Age

Through the Feudal ages men worked, women stayed home

In that case.. The Bible is not explicit on the roles of the woman in modern times

That context has always been in the framework of the family

For me .. with modern realities, there are some bounds you have to abide with

- Dont be unemployed as times have changed. Have a business or source of income

- If you are a heiress, find something worthwhile to leave your legacy as an individual

- Strive to be the best in what you are doing rather than relying on your sexuality to get what you want
