I like your spirit..

May your efforts and labour of love not be in vain

How long have you been out of the house

Has he come to beg you to return home

judii: @ Pickabeau1, thanks a lot. I am not one 2 give up easily. Most times, I get confused when the insults start coming because the issues are usually very petty things. I have a job(even before I married) so I'm not in any way totally dependent on him financially, infact there were times I even had 2 step in 4 him financially which I don't nag about. I married a man that grew up in a very large house and I later got 2 know through his siblings that abuse was no big deal. I'm finding it a very big deal because my upbringing was different. The painful part is that he doesn't see any thing wrong with what he's doing @ all. I have sat him down 2beg him 2 please stop d abusive words and still, no improvement. Right now I'm @ my parents' because I believe the earlier I handle this, the bettr 4 me before it gets physical. I do pray a lot about it as he's now completely different from the same man I courted and married. Na so marriage be ni?

Judii..

Thanks for sharing..you will enjoy not endure your marriage......please dont give up yet.....my humble opinion... it may help

- take a time out and review your relationship

- take note of strengths and weaknesses of both of you

- think of any consistent feedbacks your man may have been giving that it may seem you may not have taken heed to

- think of any circumstances that may have occured that may have led to this behavior- financial, work or health etc

- Try a sitdown with your man telling him how you feel when he says hurtful words(I dont want to believe it will be a consequence of a deliberate breakdown of his wife's psyche; if it is deliberate then that is abuse n really terrible)

- you may need to take a small break or weekend off family n work,

- talk... give feedback also lovingly on how you want him to be expressing himself both good n bad to you

- a small action point will be helpful that BOTH of you will follow when issues arise

Lets hope this helps

- I hope you also have a means of income and dont forget the place of God in the home.

it is well....

coogar: the truth about abuse is more ambiguous -while it's true that men abuse young children sëxually at a greater rate than women, women sëxally abuse older boys (12-17 years old) 11 times greater than men in cases of unforced rapë.
Another dimension...really a twisted world

Tinkybabe: Your comment as rule of generalisation is wrong. .
What's wrong in fathers taking care of their little girls? Not all Nigerian men are shameless perverts, you know .

@ topic, great tips! I think father-daughter bond comes naturally though . Girls are oftentimes closer to their fathers hence the relationship is usually smooth. Well, provided the father is loving.
Thank you....

For me If kanwulia's assertions are true, all naija women (mothers who let perverts ravage their daughters n the ravaged daughters) are condemned....

Franz is a genius damn......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Beckenbauer

On his return to Germany, Beckenbauer was appointed manager of the West German national team to replace Jupp Derwall. He took the team all the way to the final of the 1986 World Cup, where they lost to Argentina.
In 1990, before the German reunification, Beckenbauer managed the last German team without East German players in a World Cup, winning the final 1–0, against Argentina, in a rematch of the previous World Cup final. Beckenbauer is one of two men (with Mario Zagallo) to have won the Cup as player and as coach, and he is the only man to have won the title as team captain as well as coach.
Beckenbauer then moved into club management, and accepted a job with Olympique de Marseille in 1990 but left the club within 4 months. Marseille eventually won the 1990–91 French championship and ended runner-up of the 1990–91 European Cup.
From 28 December 1993 until 30 June 1994, and then from 29 April 1996 until 30 June of the same year, he coached Bayern Munich. His brief spells in charge saw him collect two further honours – the Bundesliga title in 1994 and the UEFA Cup in 1996.
In 1994, he took on the role of club president at Bayern, and much of the Munich giants' success in the following years has been credited to his astute management. Following the club's decision to change from an association to a limited company, he has been chairman of the advisory board since the beginning of 2002.
In 1998, he became vice-president of the DFB. At the end of the 1990s, Beckenbauer headed the successful bid by Germany to organize the FIFA World Cup 2006. He chaired the organizational committee for the World Cup and was a commentator for the Bild-Zeitung.

There are perverted people everywhere in the world...ariel castro is not nigerian

I do not accept the generalization that naija males molest thier daughters

Cautioning for care where girls are concerned is very good and I support that but to spout ill words of all men is too far
Except there is something that happened to you personally you are not saying...

Sagamite: Honestly, I don't think there is anything like 'tourney experience' that can have negative impact for any major European team.

And there are Managers that have done well without prior glories before.
Not sure...at this level....

Last 5 world cups

Brazil mario zagallo n scolari------ experienced

Italy -------- trappatoni ----- experience

Viscount del bosque ------ experience

Beckenbauer ---- experience

Sagamite: Lets not deceive ourselves. If Neymar is removed from the Brazil equation, Brazil would still be able to beat virtually any national team.
Hmmm.... not sure.. without neymar this team is just like the 2010 team....we all saw how it panned out.

.belgium..imo the jury is out.... marc wilmots was in the 90 team right?

@Sagamite the problem with the Belgian team imo is the lack of a tactically superior coach who will compensate for their lack of tourney experience
Sports › Re: Dangerous National Teams That Might Be Under-rated At Brazil 2014! by pickabeau1: 6:01pm On Sep 23, 2013
Good points but i have my doubts about Brazil's mental strength and thier seeming over reliance on neymar to provide the magick

Scolari willgo dirty

Argentina seems to be getting some spine where it matters now - at the bACK

wayodude: Like we saw in the confed cup,it will take something more than special to beat Brazil when playing at home. The further they get in the tournament the harder it would be to knock them out.

Not many teams manage to beat Spain 3 nil in a competitive game.

Argentina while having a very good team will have almost zero neutral support in Brazil so that may be a factor too. Imagine Nigeria hosting a World Cup, i am sure not many Nigerians 'neutrals' will be cheering Cameroun when they take to the field. Forget all the talk about one africa lol

I was in Nigeria during Nigeria 99 World Youth Tournament and I was in the stadium in Bauchi to see the USA v Cameroun group match. All the Camerounians got were boos from 'us' me inclusive! cheesy

They lost 3-1 or something like that LoL

nora544: Praying is very good but only praying will not help to make a better nigeria, what nigeria need is that the poor stand up against all the money loveing people.

Pastors have to stop to preach about miracles and that when some one sow seed that he will get more, when this will stop than nigeria can become a better country, because from praying alone we didnot have what we have now a good social life.

God is not a money printing machine and all this pastors preach about prosperty but this is the wrong way.

Well put....
debosky: I agree, but also equally unfortunate is the behaviour on some of the pro-tithing camp, who insist that tithing is mandatory or 'belongs' to God. Surely you cannot say this - in effect saying non-tithers (different from anti-tithers cheesy) are robbing God - and expect non-tithers to accept this? If more pro-tithers would accept that not tithing is not a sin, then we would have fewer of these discussions.

I have asked Ola a question and he has either intentionally/unintentionally avoided it - this exemplifies what I think is the main issue.

I agree with you 100%
Exactly what tell my friends

Do not take kids to the large camps

They really just go and sleep - suffer suffer

I hope this girl is found..

I expected a nationwide campaign, bulletin boards, facebook etc

You should see bulletin boards at walmart malls - they take disappearing kids serious even to the extent of digitised and extrapolated pics of what the missing child will look like.

taryour: Asides from the risk involved, the stress is way too much for kids. In camp you see kids sleeping on bare floor while service is going on,you see then litter about crying in dirty cloths and you just wonder where on earth is her/his mother. Abeg na by force to carry children go camphuh You see pple praying like heaven will fall crying and asking for divine protection fron God YET expose their kids to grave danger.
After service, you see some S T U P I D mothers dragging a sleepy child @ 3/4 am in the morning to rush for bus back to their houses. For God sake why suffer the child in the name of going to the HOLY groundhuh

Or else na derailment...

Already the pendulum is going the way of naija males being natural control-freaks

justplainpaul: Thats the problem with some of u women. you demand equality with men. which is not right and will never happen. two captains cannot rule a ship just like a country cannot have two presidents. there will be lots of problems when this happen. when two he-goats drink water in the same bucket, they are bound to lock horns and fight. what am trying to say is that women should understand that God did not create them equal with men but created them to be submisive and helpful. now a wise woman will be submisive and helpful and at the same time use her FEMININE WISDOM to dissuade him from using his advantage to ride roughshod over her.
