Ask them if Abraham was threatened with devourer for not tithing the second time, or if Abram's tithe is included in Abrahamic covenant, they have no answer. Ask them, if we tithe ONCE following the example of Abraham, can it be said we have tithe AFTER the example of Abraham, they don't have answers.

Why do you quote Malachi to argue Abraham's tithe? Know ye not that Malachi's mention of tithe was 'according to the LAW' and what Jesus referenced is tithe 'according to the LAW'. The Law tithing doesn't change - crops and animals. When it is to converted to money, you use the money to BUY WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRE AND EAT. How do you eat a thing if it was originally money? The Old Covenant is ABOLISHED and we are under the New Covenant of Christ. Tithe is inclusive in the Old Covenant. What Christians are encouraged to do is GIVE, as you have, not by force or being threatened with a curse or devourer. And we don't give BECAUSE we want blessings, we give BECAUSE we're already blessed. That's the difference between the Old and the New. Under the Old, you do SOMETHING, bring tithe and God in RETURN will open the windows of heaven. Under the New, heaven is opened to every believer BECAUSE of what Christ did NOT BECAUSE of OUR DOINGS as those under the law or the Old Covenant. God is never going to send a devourer to a Christian for not tithing, that was for the Law people and under the Old Covenant. That's the BETTER Covenant right there!!!

Father will beat mother mercilessly, mother will beat children, I was reading Damiso's experience and it was mind blowing. Mother/ children will beat househelps, police will beat the same people they are supposed to defend, soldier will beat police, national assembly members will beat each other. It is endless. The problem we have is that violence is acceptable in our society.

The only reason most women dont beat their husbands is because they cannot beat him physically. So they start beating him with their mouth and the man will in turn beat her physically. Even on this thread, lots of people cannot pass a message without insulting someone else. It is all part of verbal abuse. This is not a male only problem, it is a societal problem. Its just that in most marriages the women are weaker so they are at the receiving end, but some of these same women will nearly kill househelps so they are equally guilty of violence.

To your point of accepting beating to receive gifts. It is very true. Lots of women would willingly accept beatings to be called Mrs or to wear a wedding band. Most women in abusive marriages had clear signs before marriage if they are to be truthful, but they just went ahead into it. Someone shared earlier how her boyfriend was abusive and now her husband is also abusive. I was only wandering why she keeps attractive abusive men. Some of our women even find it acceptable and would take the beatings so that they can sit in a car and be called big girl. Truth!

judii: Thanks, dear. Amen! I have been out 4 some months now. His people are so nice and have been begging and also praying with me 4 things 2 return 2 normal. On his part, he's not coming out straight 2 say sorry but his action says his sorry and full of regrets. @ least, now, when we talk on phone and when he comes around, he no longer insults me @ the slightest provocation. I think the manner with which I handled the matter really got 2him as I made it public to both families what has been happening and he's so ashamed and sober now. He's doing very well 4 himself and this makes a lot of people look up 2 him as a complete gentle man so letting out details of what happens with us behind closed doors really makes him ashamed.
