JustDamsel: Last weekend, i visited my aunty and while we are all spending time together, she came up with this argument with the husband: Is it right for a wife to pick up some petty cash from the husband's wallet to buy little items for household use without telling him first? The other day, while oga was present in the house, the wife picked N200 to buy some ingredients to cook and only told him after she had done so. Days after that, she did the same, to buy soap to wash cloths for the house. And the hubby insisted she should always tell him about that beforehand , once he's at home. If he's not, that 'd be a different thing. And that, it is not as if he would ask her not to, but it is a matter of respect. The wife on the other hand, refused to accept, arguing that nothing is wrong taking small change from her 'HUSBAND' to take care of little things without first telling him. Please, who do you think is being unreasonable here? Regards all

sweetcheecks: The Op mentioned Nigerian man in her clip unless you did not view it. I think you are the only lucky human being who can test sincerety, I guess your heart has never been broken and will never be broken becouse you chose to love someone. Lucky you, hence I am saying give more advice on how to avoid such. I am just saying blame portioning is out of place. I am sorry too if you do not get my issues with your blame statement.

Lerin: Thanks. I already discussed working for free with my hubby @ least to gain experience but he disapproved it saying that it is penny wise pound foolish, that I will be taking transportation, sacrifice welfare of my family and @ the end of the month no returns,as per professional course, when he was disturbing me about it,I went to make enquiry and gave him the details, after then the whole issue entered voicemail, the church I attend is still developing to have workers to place on salary and hubby said he has no money now to set me up that is why am selling pure water with the compound I stay and also supply eggs.
Good. try and continue on your efforts
I used church because some churches have offices where you volunteer in thechurch
You may also consider even working in a school or teaching

Take heart

Interesting ...

So fathers and daughters are now cat and dog

Everyman wants to poke his own daughter

How many cases of inzest have you seen before you made that diabolical conclusion

Na wa..

Ama28: For me, I wouldn't really blame her as a mother. Its normal to try and defend your kids!
But since he was not caught in the act and there were no evidence of such, she would have handled the matter in-house. Moreover the case didn't go to court so why the publicity.

Mothers should not leave their daughters in the custody of their father alone.

Its wrong, yes this man didn't do this but we have seen worse cases than this!

They just need to sort the father out and keep begging for forgiveness!
Poor man!

Interesting spin on this thread

There's a more recent brouhaha..

Tawana Brawley

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tawana_Brawley_rape_allegations

Tawana Glenda Brawley (born 1972) is an African-American woman from Wappingers Falls, New York, who gained notoriety in 1987–88 for falsely accusing six white men of having raped her. The charges received widespread national attention because of her age (15), the persons accused (including police officers and a prosecuting attorney), and the shocking state in which Brawley was found after the rape (in a trash bag, with racial slurs written on her body and covered in feces). Brawley's accusations were given widespread media attention in part from the involvement of her advisers, including the Reverend Al Sharpton and attorneys Alton H. Maddox and C. Vernon Mason.[1] After hearing evidence, a grand jury concluded in October 1988 that Brawley had not been the victim of a forcible sexual assault and that she herself may have created the appearance of an attack.[2] The New York prosecutor whom Brawley had accused as one of her alleged assailants successfully sued Brawley and her three advisers for defamation.[3]

Brawley initially received considerable support from the African-American community.[4] Some scholars suggested that Brawley was victimized by biased reporting that adhered to racial stereotypes.[5][6] The mainstream media's coverage drew heated criticism from the African-American press and leaders for its treatment of the teenager.[7] The grand jury's conclusions decreased support for Brawley and her advisers. Brawley's family has maintained that the allegations were true..

Hmm.. Firstly you have to be positive or else you will be swallowed in unhappiness

Be thankful for everything around you

On the job search, you have already done well by putting yourself out there

Also don't believe everything is immamadu.. All my jobs have been even though I knew no one

I'm sure there are people too who know no one

Secondly, In your field you may need to further and get professionally qualified either ACCA or ICAN...

Also to get experience, you may need to beat the street or cold call offices even if it means working for free.
Employers always value new employees who already has a job or possesses verifiable referees.

you will need to discuss with your hubby esecially as it will lead to changes
But you may need to be firm

Also consider working in your church office.
An aunt of mine did this and through that she met people nd got better jobs

As i said, be positive and take it one day at a time

It is well

Its sad considering what you went through.. but if as you said there is nothing new with visa marriage fraud, why did you still get involved

You are and were aware afrikans may be coming from a less financially endowed situation so some unscrupulous ones will do anything to get residence in the west.

Sorry you got played but how is this different from women who serially marry millionaires so they can a good payday when they are divorced
