I met a guy in school, we were friends for 4 years. I started dating him when I came back from NYSC. Whenever I visited him, I will stay in his room for hours before going. He never made any sexual move even though he had asked me out and I refused. We dated for a year and I sensed we were not meant for each other so we went back to our friendship mode.
We are both married and we are still good friends.
I met lots of decent guys. The decent guys i have met are few and far in between. |

kevinberry: We both wants the same thing, you want people to stop blaming the girl, and I want people to stop calling the man a rapist..fair,so what is my crime here that should warrant insults The man said he had sex with her. If he was a decent man will he sleep with a girl that was entrusted to him? He is older and wiser than the girl and should be more responsible. The fact that you can't even see his wrong doing here is what necessitated the insult because I know if you entrust your younger sister or maybe future daughter to someone you trust you will be dissapointed if he ends up sleeping with her regardless. |

I AM IN NO WAY CONDONING RAPE, But let's not get hyped on something no one was present when it happened. If the man should be found guilty he should face the law, but not without due process being followed Who is saying due process will not be followed? What the OP is saying is that people should stop surporting accused rapists until they are proven not guilty. |

Franzeez: Hi Nairaland, my name is Francis, I am a Lawyer who graduated from University of Ilorin with a First Class in law, I proceeded to law school in Lagos and upon finishing I moved to the Harvard Law School in the US. I am presently in Australia where I work as an International political diplomat and international human right Lawyer.
My mind has been baffled for years with the emergence of Negative Journalism which has spearheaded the Nigerian Media championed by Sahara Reporters, I have Keenly observed the manner and approach of their broadcast and publications on YouTube and all their platforms and i think that is not Journalism, that is a campaign to Violence and war. The content and interpretation of the messages of this media house can set a nation on fire. I am fully aware of the international laws that guides Journalism and I think Sahara Reporters has gone past their limit. For me what the Instigate is hate and rancor, it is a destructive media.
My dear friends I have decided to pursue a lawsuit against them and I am willing to fight it to the highest court in the world. Ibhave posted this on my Facebook, and got thousands of reaction, I am preparing to get it on YouTube and other media platforms. I think this kind of Journalism is bad for Nigeria and am preparing my evidence and facts to challenge this case in court. I will pray that the court brings down Sahara reporters from the web and block their passage to dissemination of this violence culpable reporting.
Barr.(Dr) Francis Oloruntoba Sydney, Australia. God bless you. The other day this same reporters insulted GEJ, please stop them from ridiculing our country. |

Truckpusher: Does the same patriarchal society you live in remove your right to education?
The only time you start failing is when you begin to blame others for your shortcomings .
Take responsibilities for your actions and start making changes . Are you trying to say that the society doesn't affect the way people behave. I agree that many females are now given the opportunity to go to school, but be sincere what do people expect of us? It takes a couragious lady to break free from the limitations placed before her. Do you know that in some cultures in this country women were not allowed to contribute to discursions in gatherings of men? Women have been bullied by our patriachal culture for so long my brother, haven't you heard sayings like "A woman should be seen and not heard?". There are changes but time will make them more visible. That said, I have noticed a good number of ladies on here will take on any guy in intellectual discussions, so things are looking good. |
Romance › Re: Most Nigerian Ladies Are Scared Of Intelligent Discussions by Pidggin(f): 7:06pm On Aug 07, 2015 |
Rapmoney: Please, read patiently...
Guys, when was the last time you had an intelligent discussion with a young Nigerian woman that centered on career, politics, work, study, astronomy, engineering/construction or science and technology? I bet you, some intelligent Nigerian brothers are seriously bothered like I am on why most of our young ladies quickly run away from intelligent discussions and from guys who initiate such topics in conversations!!! . You can easily be seen as boring or uninteresting by them. If you are a Nigerian guy and you happen to be a Nerd, sorry your own dor finnish be that! Konji go must wound you front and back!
This post is not in any way positing that all young ladies in Nigeria cannot discuss intelligently but to say the fact that majority (in fact, 98 out of every 100!!!) of our young ladies are just 'walking toys' with no capacity to exhibit or express intelligence when you communicate with them!
It would have been normal if the case was different in our higher institutions! Our Ivory Towers that are suppose to be a grooming ground for intelligence? Most young ladies in Nigerian higher institutions run away from intelligent discussions, yet they are still referred to as 'students'; some studying Political Science know little or nothing about politics...others studying Banking and Finance don't even know who the CBN Governor is talk more of having knowledge about policies and practices in the banking sector! She might graduate with a 2.1 but we all know how such grades are gotten
I am not the type of guy that adores a woman for her beauty alone but for what she has upstairs too!!! If am dating you and we cannot communicate on certain intelligent issues other than trivial and ordinary things all the time, then I would definitely see nothing in you.
Most of our girls have been overtaken by material things. Their entire life revolves around costly artificial hairs, big phones that they can't even operate efficiently, Asian and South American soap operas and dramas, artificial nails and eye-lashes, etc!
*I adore a woman who can advise me wisely on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in order to make gains. Not the one that will use our daughter's WAEC fee to purchase Brazilian hair!
*I adore a woman that would educate me on legal matters when I have an issue. Not the one that would pester me for subscription, artificial nails and Iphone6!
*I adore the woman that would educate me on climatic changes and envirnmental hazards because that's her field. Not the one that has only sex to offer!!!
*I adore the woman that would educate me on the pros and cons of government policies and how these policies can affect lives. Not the one whose major hobby is to visit an eatery and order for things indiscriminately and place the bills on me!
God bless Nigerian ladies! You have said the truth no lies here, but don't blame us, blame the patriachal society we live in. |

Jaxera: A woman shouldn't do something like this, it doesn't seem right at all. There are jobs that women should do, and I don't think being a conductor in a commercial bus, especially in a city like lagos is the one of them.
Most times when I see things like this I ask myself, doesn't this woman have children or a husband?....I mean, I can never allow my own mum do something like this.
Well, the woman wants to make sure she isn't being duped by the driver. So, she should 'enjoy' herself. It doesn't seem right because you are not aware that women are drivers and bus conductors in some other countries and they are training their children with the money they make. |
