ritzz: I want to search for channels on Eutelsat7 WA but it's not among the satellites on my Strong 69x decoder.
Anyone in the house know how I can add it to my decoder.

If you are not on motorised you can use any satellite that is already set as KU (to avoid some problems). Just blind scan on that sat and you are done!

Bro, that machine which you just bought is massive! Strong SRT 4930 HD will do wonders for you and leave you perplexed, bamboozled, commingled, etc if you know what you are doing. One of the best HD receivers so far for Africa at a very reasonable price for us Africans ( not those receivers that cost US$500 or above!)

MENA now home to 143 pay TV channels

The four satellite TV platforms providing subscription-based services to the Arab world together host 143 channels across various genres, according to Jordan-based consultancy Arab Advisors Group.

Three of these operators, Dubai-based OSN, Qatar's Al Jazeera Sports, and Abu Dhabi Sports also provide high definition (HD) channels. The fourth, Al Majd, which is owned by Saudi businessman Abdur-Rahman Ashmeri, offers four free to air channels and nine encrypted channels.

Of the four, Al Jazeera Sports+ offers the greatest amount of premium sporting channels, says the new report, 'Satellite Pay TV operators in the Arab World 2012'. Rival broadcaster Abu Dhabi Sports, operated by Abu Dhabi Media, however currently holds the much sought after football broadcast rights to the English Premier League.

"By February 2012, the four pay TV providers offered 143 channels. OSN had the highest number with 100 channels (including the three pay-per-view channels and on demand channel), Abu Dhabi Sports came in second with 18 channels, while Al Jazeera Sports+ provided 16 channels dedicated for all sorts of sports events. Al Majd TV provided 9 encoded channels," said Zaid Abawi, research analyst, Arab Advisors Group.

'Despite the promotions of pay TV operators, most of the Arab World remains tuned to free-to-air (FTA) satellite TV channels. Economically, many viewers seem to favour the free content of FTA channels rather than paying for TV content," he added.

Man Utd/Man City telecast sets records in US

Last week's 'Manchester Derby' Premier League soccer showdown between Manchester City and Manchester United drew an unprecedented 1.033 million average viewership (832,000 television homes) in the US, making it the most-watched Premiership telecast on US cable TV.

The match, a deserved 1-0 home win for Manchester City, far surpassed the previous high, an ESPN2 telecast of Arsenal vs Chelsea, seen by an average of 610,000 viewers on Monday 27 December 2010, according to Nielsen.

The story was the same on ESPN Deportes, the Spanish-language sports network which began featuring EPL matches in August 2010. The match earned a 4.0 Hispanic coverage rating, representing 205,000 Hispanic households (273,000 Hispanic viewers). The previous high on ESPN Deportes delivered 127,000 households, (183,000 Hispanic viewers) for Blackburn vs Man United on 2 April 2012.

On ESPN3 and WatchESPN, an average-minute audience of nearly 87,200 people watched the Manchester Derby via computers, smartphones, tablets and Xbox, and logging a total of 13.1 million minutes across platforms.

Mavella: thax for info and i getting siruis 4 on same lnb at 4.8e how about etv feed when to track this feed.

Usually when you combine w3a and sirius on the same LNB it's hard to get the etv feed. To get it you need to get a very high signal level on Sirius 4 which is not the case with the combination. Try tracking it when there is a football match on.

If your tv has the component jack you can use that. If not, use the a/v splitter so that you can have 2 outputs from the receiver.

I need to report to colleagues using SRT 4930 HD about the latest software update. Previously there was an outcry that the software updates using boot version 5.40 were bringing dead tps when you blind scan. This time although maintaning boot version 5.40 as opposesd to Mytv's 6.0, the dead tp issue seems to have been rectified. I did a blind scan on Arabsat 5c and it was ok. Someone should try on any KU band sat to complete the test. There are several updates too that I have noted so far.
