Do the channels you people are referring to have a footprint in my region huh You talk of badr because you have coverage in your area, check how many satellites that have a footprint in Southern Africa have the channels you are talking about.

I thought this might be interesting:

Al-Jazeera outscores Canal+ for French international football TV rights
International TV rights of France’s football championship has been acquired by pan-Arabic channel Al-Jazeera after French Professional League LFP, gave preference to the Qatar channel instead and not to Canal+.

Up to now, French championship TV rights have always been owned by Canal+ subsidiary Canal+ Events, which commercialised them abroad.

The new deal, thought to be in the region of €195 million, is viewed as unfair by Canal+ Events under whose management revenues tripled. The contract also coincides with the launch of the call for tenders for League 1 French TV rights.

Al-Jazeera has already bought rights to the French championship for the season 2012-2016. Explaining why it made its decision, LFP’s President Frédéric Thiriez said: “Al-Jazeera grants us a worldwide exposure and its acquisition bid was much higher than the two others received.”

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by Pidzo(m): 8:34am On May 31, 2011
«Damma : Yesterday at 03:08:39 PM »

The rate of people asking 4 cardsharing info nd dongle is becoming alarming,i guess we gonna drop fta 4 it in d future.
We receive the worst in terms of TV here in Africa. Look at what is available for FREE in Europe, Asia, South America and you will see what I mean. Our friends watch History, Fox, Sky, National Geographic, and other good channels and not waste time on these national broadcasters that fill our day as FTA. The service providers are pushing us into a corner. Look at this, during the time DSTV deliberately left a few channels open (Mnet, ETV, Vuzu etc) on W7 was there talk of cardsharing or dongles in this forum? At least we were just busy sharing ideas on how to watch those channels but nowadays people are busy sharpening skills on how to watch the channels they don't want us to see freely. I believe they are to lose. In cardsharing people watch all their channels, nothing is left while if they 'release' a few good channels people are stuck with those. Lets move on with this cardsharing thing, what else can we do?  So I agree with you Damma shocked
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Did Arsenal Play Better Than Manchester United Against Barcelona? by Pidzo(m): 8:11am On May 31, 2011
Arsenal is the best in terms of what? Losing? Arsenal fans are just good at talking about how other teams fail to win in competitions that they themselves fail to progress each and every year. You say Arsenal played better, did you progress? Looking at how noisy Arsenal fans are I don't know what would have happened if Arsenal was any where near Tottenham (obviously Tottenham is far much better than Arsenal in everythingcry cry)
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by Pidzo(m): 8:07pm On May 27, 2011
Currently there has been a big silence regarding the much talked about New Dawn from Intelsat. Their last press release regarding this satellite was on 3 May when they announced the reflector problem. Looks like our hopes are dashed for now. May be we should look at Yahsat Y1 which was launched together with New Dawn. Read the quote below:
" Yahsat Y1, the first satellite to be operated by the United Arab Emirates' Al Yah Satellite Communications company, was released 27 minutes into the flight. The Astrium-built satellite carries a mixture of Ku-band and C-band transponders and will operate out of an orbital slot of 52.5 degrees east. With a coverage footprint across the Middle East, Africa, and Southwest Asia, Yahsat Y1A will support Abu Dhabi's efforts to become a media broadcasting and telecommunications hub, delivering services for government, commercial, and consumer satellite communications capabilities."
PS: What I dont understand is why do they still put satellites up there when there are plenty which are under utilised like Rascom 1r, Nss 5, Nss 7, Intelsat 906, etc. Some satellites don't even have a working channel (check on Lyngsat)
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by Pidzo(m): 7:29pm On May 27, 2011
I agree with Swordswifter about the errors in software updates nowadays. Its amazing that the same kind of bug is carried on to the next version. May be we should understand the software writers as they are looking at different models of receivers at the same time.  I was hoping that this latest version of 4930 would also carry picture in picture as the 4669x just as they introduced internet connectivity to the 4669x.
One thing which I also hate about these software is when you go to Blind scanning. You select a satellite by pressing ok. It just highlights the selected satellite and you need to press the volume key to move it to the proper menu. I thought it was supposed to go directly there the moment you hit Ok just like in Fortecstar and other receivers. Just thinking aloud grin

This is also a great puzzle to me. All those that got theirs from MyTv Malawi (who get all their supplies from MyTv Zambia) say its not authentic huh huh Really?

@Sholatech
I would advise you to buy a bigger usb harddrive (say 500Gb) if you can manage, then connect it. U wont have to transfer your recordings or movies to and from PC.

Sorry if I have posted it more than once but my thinking was that on 23 May I posted something to do with Srt 4900 and Srt 4910 while today's posting was about Srt 4930HD and Srt 4902. If it is a duplicated post tell me. huh huh

I am VERY HAPPY that you Nairaland members are trying to do what is truly right - call a spade SPADE. When somebody has done something not acceptable lets tell him/her so. There are people who defend the indefensible. Shame. We have sections that deal with specific issues. You tell a person to post in a particular section someone comes in and says he has all the RIGHT to post anywhere, really?
How many times have we advised people to read and research before postinghuh? A million times. I bet you, next week someone will surely come here to ask for RDV key and how to insert the key or how to track Nilesat 201 or if he can track W4/7 with a 60cm dish! my foot!!! And I can assure you, try to advise the poster, he will have a LAWYER at hand to answer on his/ her behalf huh huh huh

Its a VERY big surprise indeed. When Geman apologised but said he is not sure about the posts being useless I agreed to an extent and I rested my case only to see someone trying to push him on. I looked at Geman's response as coming from someone who is 'Very Mature and Understanding.' Thanks Sensicut that we see things from the same view point, and I am not a trouble maker toogrin grin grin grin grin grin

A lot of people seem to be interested in CS (cardsharing). This topic was tackled in detail sometime back in this forum. Here is where you can read it: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-200327.0.html
I hope this clears the air.

@Zobo I zee
Srt4930 doesnt come with a built in Lan port just like 4669x and 4669xii. There is an adaptor that turns the RS232 port into a lan port. Using this software and all necessary connections and other software emulators plus internet connection you have CS. grin grin

You gain knowledge from listening to what people are discussing, visit and join different forums (dont just be a member of Nairaland, yes this is a good forum but not all is discussed here though), dont forget to google around. Most people will tell you more if discuss with them privately (i know you know this) and no matter how simple a discussion is you will at least gain something. grin grin grin
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 5 - The Final Part) by Pidzo(m): 5:18pm On May 17, 2011
For sure I know it works on Strong 4930, 4669x, 4669xII, 4669z and those receivers that have their software updated to include internet connectivity. I loaded my 4930 months ago with an earlier version module that was meant for another model but there was no problem in the test i conducted, so what more with a version which the owners say will work for all Strong receivers? Thats it bro. grin grin
