The fallacy is yours, olabowale. There is no such thing in the Bible as "3 godheads"; nor does the Bible teach the idea of "son of godhead". When Jesus prayed for His disciples, it does not mean the Gospel should not be preached unto the world. Find out what His prayers for His disciples are about - and then see if that is the same thing as preaching to the world.

I'm waiting to see how you go round the verse I offered you about the fact that the Gospel was for the whole world (Matthew 24:14). Do you mind discussing why you read Matthew 15 but are too scared to read Matthew 24:14? grin

@babs747
This is what i think
If Jesus did die on the cross for the sins of men,and if it was true that he was God, then the whole process was stage acting, for God could not really surfer the tortures, and his death meant nothing to him, for actually he did not die, being God. The whole rocedure takes the form of outrageos cheating. And if the exercise was predestined, and Jesus knew it as we were made to believe, and it was in fulfillment of prophecies and the mission of Jesus, then those who inflicted punishment on him and killed him shuuld be hailed as benefactors of mankind and the beloved of God for their fulfilling to the letter Gods own desires. sad
When you address issues on the convictions of other people, seek to demonstrate some reasonable courtesy towards them. When Muslims jest about Christian convictions, it shows two things:

~ that Muslims are not interested in a genuine discussion or sincere answers;

~ that the Muslim truly has a restless soul because he feels insecure in Islam.

If you are secure, you would not always and every time seek to start out by jesting at other people's convictions, even if you don't believe in them. Intelligence is not the same thing as taunts and the illiterate remarks you guys often post.

One more thing:

Muslim slurring of other religions is only inviting a derision of Islam - the same thing that you guys cannot endure. If you cannot endure the derogatory remarks you cast at other religions, why do you make so much effort to even begin? Imagine how reduced you would feel if people express their candid opinions about Islam, Muhammad and 'Allah' in derogatory remarks, even though what they say are true?

If you truly want to know anything, seek to invite an enabling atmosphere for discussion/dialogue. This is the one thing I have often offered Muslims and others in my discussions. I am very secure in my faith in Christ - and that is why I take the time and effort to buttress my views with clear pointers and facts from the Bible, Qur'an, Hadiths and other sources! Are you so scared of discovering the real gist about Islam that you would rather stoop so low for cheap applause and derogatory remarks against Christianity?

Lol. . . let me know when you have done your home work and are ready for a discussion. Then you will read things the mullahs never told you heretofore, nor are they able to muster the courage to reveal to you if you'd ask them! I can understand the dread of your scholars - they are too scared to admit their folly.

Probably because the poster has a more profound kowledge of the Bible and the rest of us are apostates! Afterall, the apostates are the ones who do not "kill" but instead preach about "love" much more than anything.

People that can afford to pay you are multinational companies, all you would need to do is go to their website and apply for a job role there are always vacancies especially for people like you with this level of qualifications and experience. I repeat do not listen to any individual asking you to send your cv, the next thing they will be asking you for is a processing fee and all sort. My dear watch out for what we call 419, it just simply means frauding innocent people mostly using the white collar job industry as a disguise but definately not connected to the organisation.
try this for starters got to www.mtnonline.com    go to the career page and register you would see some opportunities that fits your qualifications. also try www.celtel.com and select Nigeria you will find some vacancies. You would find alot of opportunities in Nigeria, its a fertile country that needs professionals like you. Good luck

@JeSoul: So what you boldly asked? My sister, don't be silly. This is about your Soul, which you seem to no to seriously care about. To say the Bible still stands strong, begs the sincerity of the questions asked? What is it that the Bible stands strong against?
My dear sir, would you just stop being such a retard piece of rag? You cannot advance your illiterate arguments to call someone silly when you have no clues about what the Qur'an has been able to defend. How many questions have you personally sought to address coherently as to the abrogated Qur'an? What was 'Allah' observing when he was busy "abrogating" his own Qur'an just to bend backwards to please Muhammad?

You really need to go and wipe your diapers before you seek to engage people on the Forum.

olabowale:
Stands strong compared to what? Which Bible are we talking about here? KJV ? And what happened to the standing or the swaggering of the Bible(s) before it?
The Bible has been attacked from all sides - Christians have not drawn any sowrd to slice the belly or throats of the attackers. That should speak volumes already to those who pretend to be looking the other way as if 'Allah' knows any love or peace.

Whether it is the KJV or any other, the love of God is still standing strong with the bold message of love - go figure. Against all the puerile attacks of the Bible being this, that or the other, YOU can still live peacefully among Christians - no knives, no slitting your throats. It does not matter if those Christians are reading only the KJV of the Bible - they are no threat to your restless soul!

On the other hand, how many versions of the Qur'an have stood strong in the face of the same examination? Is it Yusuf Ali? Hilali-Khan? Muhammad Asad? Sarwar? Or Shakir? All these fellows are saying different things altogether in their MUSLIM translations of the meaningless Qur'an - and your nightmare seems to be the KJV! You must be living in a chicken pen!

olabowale:
They are also standing or falling? What happened to the Douwy that the Grand daddy of the Protestants, the catholic uses? That One is standing strong, too? Get a grip on reality and get of the fairy tale train Express.
Yes, the Douay (not "Douwy"wink is standing strong - at least it does not deny the love of God in John 3:16; nor does it deny that God is known as FATHER; nor does it deny that Jesus is the SON of God!

Go pick up any version of the meaningless Qur'an - whatever is left from what version 'Allah' had abrogated! Meaningless as it is, you will always find how Muhammad denied the revelations of the Biblical prophets - and we didn't have to wait until the 20th century to discover that he was a false prophet after the Jews exposed his career!

olabowale:
The Central theme of religion, is who is deserved to be worship; The Bible fails in that.
Really? Go find out what Jesus said about true worshippers in John 4 - those who worship the FATHER in spirit and truth.

olabowale:
One one hand it says God is One, Check out Mark 12 Verse 29 and Deut. 6 Verse 4. Then on the other hand the New Testament opposes itsself and the Old Testament, by presenting ideas, conjectures, inuendos, yet never having the WORD, "TRINITY." ever written anywhere!
Lol. . . keep fighting your belly botton on the Trinity. Muhammad denied what he had no revelation about, and thus qualified himself as the false prophet that he was! That is why Muslims will constant seek to attack those who know God as FATHER - whether they be Jews or Christians.

olabowale:
This is what you call strong and a singly themed Book? Dear sister, the same way you can not justify the position of Jesus, except by BLIND FAITH, is what is leading you to be postulating that if one rejects the multiple heads god you are trying to make us ingest, we will perish in terrible wrath!
The same way that you cannot justify your Muslim lies for 'Allah' except by blind faith, is the reason why I rejected Islam for good. The many tales that Muhammad engineered and passed of as the Qur'an, nonethless did not survive until some parts of it were abrogated and substituted! And you have the temerity to speak about blind faith! grin

olabowale:
Which of the godheads is going to inact this; the son god, or the passive holy ghost! Go think about it! Every time you associate something with God, eg your usurping Gods responsibility to Jesus, is as if you are an Idol worshipper! You might as well have a structure, or object of worship in front of you!
Your allegations do not hold any substance - in as amuch as you keep deceiving yourself with a plurality of godheads which is not stated anywhere in the Bible.

olabowale:
We in Islam say, There is no god except The God. He is the ONLY OBJECT of OUR WORSHIP. We negate everything else.
Oh, please dump that re-edited and abrogated noise! Whatever happened to the three daughters of Allah that came out of Muhammad's mouth?

RichyBlacK:
@Gamine,

I see you point and I agree.

Though sex is worship, the Being being worshiped may be either that of Light (the Almighty) or that of Darkness (the Fallen Angel).

*Sex is worship
*Worship can bring praise to God
*Worship can bring praise to Lucifer.

Can one distinguish between using sex to give praise to God or to Lucifer?
Gamine:
When it is done rightfully

that is within marriage, God is Glorified

Without Marriage, Satan is glorified
I see your point.

We had a group discussion on this (obviously, the lady who proposed this for the "sister's evening discussion" must have spied into this thread - for some of the things she pointed out seem to have been posted here already!).

Anyways, in the discussion, several of us extended the idea of "worship" to include our entire being - the total man submitted to God in loving response to the revelation of His power, love and redeeming grace!

As we took them in turn to highlight how this could be observed in practical ways, we agreed again that "worship" is not limited to 'Church activities' - but transcends it altogether. In Church, we have the opportunity to collectively express our worship to God. However, we can demonstrate that we count as those who worship Him - in our offices, neighbourhood, . . . and in our homes. Some of these highlights include:

~ We "worship" God when we refuse to seek ungodly gain in our dealings.

~ We "worship" God when we seek the welfare of our communities.

~ We "worship" God when we make relationships at home count!

Now, before you begin to whet your appetite, waka small-small. . . grin

Making relationships at home count as a way of worshipping to God would entail that we respect, value and foster healthy communication.

<<(tape fast-forwarded)>>

. . . so it is in marriage. When we submit ourselves to our spouses within the relationships of marriage, we glorify God. A man would not use sex as a weapon - to either cheat, hurt, or dishearten his spouse; nor would a godly woman seek to use sex as a punishing tool - depriving her spouse due to some misunderstanding.

<<(grumbling among sistas)>>

. . . "what's d matter?" (group leader asks)

. . . pilgrim.1 was feeling shy, so she just jeje maintain! Another no-nonsense sista quipped:

"Look, if my hubby shakara me anyhow without paying me due attention, I know how to discipline him - he must beg before he touch me. Worship includes discipline as well, you know!"

Need I say anymore? undecided

You don't have to keep "wondering" - this is what He has clearly stated:

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Not even Muhammad could make such a claim - and please don't gee me that redundant Muslim calim of he was only a slave!  grin

Except that He is father to no one, but God and Lord and Creator of everyone, include the slave/servant Jesus, son of Virgin Mary!
He is FATHER to no one, abi?

Moses and Isaiah called Him by the very revelation you deny:

Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise?
is not he thy FATHER that hath bought thee?
hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD, thou art our FATHER; we are the clay,

Hi @dafidixone,

grin
Lol, good heed I'll give to that. . . except for one small thing: that is precisely what Muslims who have lost all their arguments against Jews and Christians would like to do - become the virus of every thread! It is not only on this Forum they do that - you should see what their restless spirits do in many other Fora! undecided

Not that they are even remotely interested in knowing anything - and to "ignore" them is the one thing that would sooooo sooo gladden their hearts. WHY? Because that is HOW the Devil thrives in his sinister games. See how the Lord pointed this out directly for our instruction:

Matthew 13:25
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat,
and went his way.

The day I saw that in new light, it has never been the same for me!

Yes, indeed - there are times when we say nothing, regardless the accusations, taunts, curses, castigations, vitriol, ridicule, etc! It does not mean that there are no sensible answers - but often times, our silence demonstrates that those who have sold their hearts to the restlessness of the Devil are going about seeking to cause restlessness to others. You can imagine when someone's motive is to make another FALL and BRUISE the face! grin It is not as if he is interested in a genuine dialogue - for that sinister game of a diabolic spirit is what he carries in his restless soul!

Stop deceiving yourself! face reality. You can sing all the songs you want, from the point of death, you will find that it has no use with the One who Judges and all decisions depends on HIM! Jesus is not it. He has his own burden(s) as well and he will not be concerned with yours. Afterall, he did not ask you to worship him!
Your desperate state of mind and restless soul is further being manifested here. You may try to deny all you can from now till Muhammad sends you on Jihad, but your restlessness will not change the facts on ground.

Contrary to your summations about judgement and divine decisions as well as worship, all rest on Jesus now. Read just two verses you never took time to examine for yourself:

John 5:22 & 23
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that
honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Jesus asked those who believed in Him to pay Him the same homage (worship) that any man could ascribe to the Father; as well He made clear that judgement is in His hand! Where would you be when you face Him on that day on the excuse that Muhammad had misled you into denying all that the Biblical prophets had taught?

It will do you a world of good to stop using fallacies to argue your points - it would only continue to damage your lies for Islam. Haba! grin
Christianity Etc › Re: Trinity by pilgrim1(f): 2:26pm On Jan 30, 2008
@olabowale,

olabowale:
If father and holy spirit dwelt inside Jesus, then when Jesus died, crucified on the cross, according to the Bible (and of course, the Muslims do not believe it), the enties that dwelt in him (father and holy ghost), must have died with him, or did they escape the cruxifixion, leaving Jesus alone to bear the brunt of the all thing? You have a lot to explain or this should open your eye!
This is typical Muslim reasoning - just linear and unable to grasp simple concepts. No worries, because when I was a Muslim, I thought the same way as well - to no fruit or benefit to me as a Muslim.

But here is something that snapped that cord from my life and helped me to understand the Trinity and acknowledge that it is true:

In Islam, there is a belief that those who die are not necessarily dead! They have simply departed this world, but are still "alive" in a spiritual realm. This is exactly what was explicated in explicated in the cancelled verse of the Qur'an where those who died were said to have sent a message through Gabriel (Jibril):

Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 52, Num. 57:

Gabriel informed the Prophet that they (i.e the martyrs) met their Lord,
and He was pleased with them and made them pleased. We used to recite,
"Inform our people that we have met our Lord, He is pleased with us and
He has made
us pleased" Later on this Quranic Verse was cancelled.

Of course, if these people have simply ceased to exist, how could they have been speaking of "we", "our" and "us" while they are dead? Please notice two things here:

~ the source is a SAHIH Hadith - meaning that it is regarded as authentic among Muslims

~ the verse that was cancelled was a Qur'anic verse! It means that it does not appear in the present Qur'an read by Muslims around the world, even though the Sahih Hadith clearly acknowledges the fact!

In any case, what is important here is that "death " does not mean that the person no longer exists! When Jesus died as MAN on the Cross, that death in no way diminshed His deity, nor His power, nor His very essence. In the body, He experienced our pain, our sorrow, our fears - most of all, He experienced our humanity without sin! When He went to the Cross, He took our place - for He did not die for any sin that are accused upon Him; rather He died for our own sakes, so that we might live. For in dying, He destroyed the power of death, the power of fear, and the power of sin in the lives of those who receive Him as Lord and Saviour.

Those who mock on are doing just one thing, really: they are demonstrating that they do not know the glorious liberty of a life free from SIN and FEAR of divine judgement! That is the one reason they caricature everything about Christ. . . and it is clear that some of these Muslim propagandists have nothing better to offer than the shameless ridicule they have made of Him, while pretending at the same time that they "love and respect" Jesus in Islam!

The one reason why Islam hates Jews and Christians is because Muhammad was proven to be a FALSE prophet after he was exposed by the Jews! Above every other fault he may have sculpted against them, that was the one thing that made him curse the Jews and Christians until his last breath - curses which have only returned upon his own head!

For the Bible says that a curse that has no reason to be pronounced ("curse causless"wink shall NOT come --

Proverbs 26:2
As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying,
so the curse causeless shall not come.

I was meditating this morning and came across this verse in a fresh way:

Eccl. 12:9 - And moreover, because the preacher was wise,
he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed,
and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

Three things there:

(a) the wise preacher still taught them - doesn't matter whether the pay heed or not

(b) he was dilligent - seeking out, studying, giving good heed to the things of God

(c) he set in order many proverbs - sharing answers in seemingly difficult issues.

These are the principles which inspire and challenge me to share answers for others to learn and leave the restless souls to wallow in their deliberate ungodly adventures. Muhamad started his arguments against Jews and Christians, hating them until his last breath. It is no surprise that Muslims are filled with the same state of mind.

All is well. There is something I admire in your post:

OlowoTee:
@Olabowale
grin grin grin grin grin arguments isn't in my blood. I only answer sincere questions. grin tongue
True. That is why I have always said to people like olabowale and babs787 that I have long stopped entertaining their callous adventures in pretended scholarship that they clearly do not possess.

If they are seeking a genuine discussion, it will show in they way their approach the convictions of other people. The restlessness of their souls is the reason why the often demonstrate all the shakara they parade on the Forum - shakara that is as empty as ever! cheesy

God bless you o jare. . . and with you and dafidixone, keep up the good work. wink

@olabowale,

olabowale:
Mr. dafidixone, the poster, answer my inquiries, man.
You obviously were not looking for answers - afterall, your real intention was stated here:

olabowale:
I want you to fall and bruise your face, in your answer,
. . . and my answer was: you will fall into the pit you dig for others! grin

olabowale:
The seventh day rest thing: Was the christian God tired? Why did he need rest?
The Sabbath does not express "tiredness" - rather, it points to a blessing and establishing holiness for all He had made -

Genesis 2:3

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested from all his work which
God created and made.

Muslims who follow this idea of "rest" and stretc it to mean "tiredness" have been urged many times to go read the Hebrew word in any verse that they are not clear about. That word "rested" simply means "ceased" - it is the Hebrew word שׁבת (shâbath) and demonstrates the simple understanding that God "ceased" in His creative acts.

This word שׁבת (shâbath) is the same word that has been used in a number of other verses; for example:

2 Chron. 16:5
'And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building
of Ramah, and let his work cease [שׁבת (shâbath)].'

As you can see in the example above, it does not mean that the work is "tired", otherwise we would have been wondering if a work is "resting" out of tiredness! Rather, it points out the simple understanding that the work came to a stop - it "ceased" [שׁבת (shâbath)] to go on.

However, when God "rested/ceased" [שׁבת (shâbath)] from His work, it simply means that He stopped creating - He had perfected His creating work and thus did not continue to carry on that creation work!

This is the sense of the Hebrew context of that verse - Genesis 2:3, which is corroborated in the epistle to the Hebrews:

Hebrews 4:10
For he that is entered into his rest,
he also hath ceased from his own works,
as God did from his.

Here, Hebrews 4:12 makes it clear that the sense of the word "rest" in Genesis 2:3 is simply to "cease" from work - as God ceased from His work of creation. The result and crowning glory of that Sabbath on the seventh Day was that God both BLESSED that day and SANCTIFIED it!

That was a typology of what God had intended for humanity - for when His Son came into the world, we were ushered into the era of the true rest - the REST in the soul:

Matthew 11:28-29
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Do you know this rest in your soul, olabowale - or the restlessness of your soul is actually the reason why your mischief is seeking to cause another to "fall" and "bruise" his face?

May God have mercy on your soul. The restless of soul always seeks to cause trouble unto others - for the simple fact that he does not know the peace of God in his heart.

Trouble not your soul any longer, olabowale - Jesus gives true rest of heart!! cheesy
