I think the problem is basically Islam and its intolerance. Someone quoted, in the earlier pages, some verses in the Qur'an confirming the intolerance of Islam. If every religion and believe system were to be as intolerant as Islam is, I doubt if there would be any human being surviving on earth.

Muslims and Christians openly condemn idol worshippers, ifa priests etc., even though in this part of the world theirs is the most threatened "religion", yet they do not react by fighting physically back; most of the time, they resort to their gods to do the fighting. I wonder why Islam teaches violence and assault on "unbelievers".

May the God that Seun Bunmi Adegunsoye believes in save her from this trouble she put herself into.

Thieving Pastor could be worse or not but which affects the people (masses) the most?

Let God judge theiving pastors (at least, until they are convicted of a crime) because they steal in the name of God and let us judge politicians because they steal in the guise of serving the people.

@Tudor: God is God; He can choose to reveal it to Pastor Adeboye or not. You should not be too conclusive; If Pastor Adeboye is a thief (you cannot even call him that until he is proven to be), let God judge him and you are in no position to crucify him. One question I would love to ask all you people that want Rev. Okotie to face his pastoral business: would you have him resign as a Pastor before he contests for President? You cannot justify a wrong with another wrong. Sugar daddies sleeping with under-age girls does not justify marriage to an under-age just like the remedy of a headache is not by cutting the head.

Christianity is about accepting God's mercy and following the Truth, which is Jesus Christ. That Abraham lied or Isaac and Joseph married children (wrong assumptions, though) in the bible does not make it acceptable by God. Jesus is the way (the only way) that we follow. All those "christians" (pastors, nuns etc) you cited could have done all that but it's not acceptable by God. They've sinned against God and they cannot hide under religion.

We are governed by the Nigerian constitution and not sharia. According to our constitution, this act is criminal.

For a moment, let us put aside the cloak of religion (brainwashing). Is it natural for children to be married, whether to each other or to adults? No! Children, especially young girls are not biologically, emotionally, and even spiritually mature enough to bear the responsibilities of a marriage. It is not just fair. Mind you, these women and children are equally human beings as you are and they have the right to have their will.

@Airdig: Ok, you abhor Yerima's act, but you sounded as if you were defending him (as the islamic group is) by citing, wrongfully though, Isaac's marriage to Rebecca in the bible as similar.

The bible does not teach this act or any similar inhuman act. Religion should guide our natural way of thinking and not confuse it.

The argument (if there is one) is not about whether Christianity or Islam is right or wrong. It is about denouncing marriage to children (or any other similar evil acts) wrong. Any religion that supports it is wrong.

The OT is not dead; it is just some practices that have been abolished by the NT (new covenant). The bible cannot be complete without the OT because it must start from the beginning, the origin.

This is not the point of this thread, though. The point is: marraige to children is wrong. If Yerima should search his conscience (that is if he has one) and he is true to himself, he will find guilt there. It is absolutely wrong.

Your reference in the old testament is wrong. Mind you, most of the practices in the old testament have been abolished by the the new testament.
