Politics / Atiku Insists That Nigeria Is Broke by pingu2k5(m): 12:22pm On Dec 09, 2010
"I am rich enough and ready, if voted in come 2011, to fund Nigeria personally because Nigeria is broke" -Atku

Former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar said yesterday that unless the federal government’s current policy of ‘uncontrolled spending spree’, the country risks going broke sooner than envisaged.
Mr Abubakar, in a statement from his campaign group in Abuja, said he had often alerted the presidency on the state of the economy but regretted that rather than taking his warnings seriously, the Goodluck Jonathan administration continued to pretend that the situation is not dire.
“But rather than take heed of the alerts, the Jonathan administration has continued to play the ostrich and live in denial of the true state of the Nigerian economy.” He added the managing director of the World Bank, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Chukwuma Soludo and the Brettonwood institutions, have also urged urgent interventions to stem the slide of the economy.
The presidential aspirant also added that the Minister of Finance, Olusegun Aganga and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi Lamido have acknowledged that indeed all is not well with the nation’s economy with their recent utterances on government expenditure.
Aganga and animal farm
Mr Abubakar noted that with inflation currently at 14% in Nigeria compared to the BRIC countries’ (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) 7-8% and sub-Saharan Africa’s 7%, “Nigeria may not attain the 2020 target of being one of the leading 20 economies.” According to him, the current situation is also being exacerbated by the rapid depletion of the external reserves with not much to show for it in terms of infrastructure and economic development. He dismissed Mr Aganga’s claim that Nigeria is currently one of the top 10 economies of the world. The former Vice-President who presided over the nation’s economic council stated that Mr Aganga’s claim is reminiscent of George Orwell’s Animal Farm which presumed economic growth is only visible from pronouncements of government officials.

He said that in the first eight months of this year alone, the foreign reserves have decreased by $8 billion with its attendant impact on rising inflation, adding that the CBN’s intervention in raising the MRR (minimum rediscount rate) by 25 basis points has not helped the situation. He said since rates were raised, another $2.7 billion have gone from the reserves.

Mr Abubakar lamented that what is most worrisome is the depletion of the Excess Crude Account from $22 billion to $470 million with no corresponding projects associated with the spending just as he regretted that most of the expenditure has gone into recurrent spending.

He argued that the fact that the Jonathan administration is relapsing into the habit of foreign borrowing is a clear indication that something is wrong with the way the economy is being run. He also said as desirable as borrowing is to the development of the economy, the funds so borrowed must be targeted at critical sectors, else the nation will be returning to a regime of debt overhang.

Politics / Mark And Bankole To Buy Official Residences by pingu2k5(m): 10:59am On Dec 05, 2010
Jonathan employs Nigerians to show love to both friends and foes through sharing and giving this festive season as that is what the season represents. He says, "As an exemplary leader and contrary to what some people think, I am giving the leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives their official residences because of the reason for the season, "

He didn't say the above but it probably might be his explanation for his generous gifts to Mark and co.

Jokes Etc / Jonathan Commends Pep Guardiola by pingu2k5(m): 12:47am On Nov 30, 2010
Goodluck Jonathan commends Pep Guardiola for his incredible feat over the mouthy Mourinho. He warns Nigerians to be wary of anybody that calls himself the "Special One (consensus candidate)" as he will fail to deliver when it matters. He says, "Though I am a Man U fan, Barca is king".

I think first of all the little girl did not say it properly in pidin and that is the reason for all this confusion. the proper way to say it is: I don't like this bedsheet beacause it use to scratch me, (as in: that thing they scratch me for body). So to correct her, she should say: I don't like that bedsheet beacuse it itches,

Translating the pidgin word "Chook" to English, depending on the context, it would be: prick, penetrate, poke, and maybe to have sex,

Politics / Should Nigeria Split... by pingu2k5(m): 12:13pm On Oct 21, 2010
I'm just wondering, should Nigeria split according to tribes (God forbid) which region would be the hottest? I'm thinking it would be the yoruba region because we have peeps like Dbanj, BankyW, Seun (Nairaland), Asa, Obj, , , and my humble self wink

I don't intend this to be a tribal clash, I just want us to showcase our individual strengths as tribes and also the weaknesses that would impede each tribal region's progress should Nigeria split.

As far as I am concerned Darwin is not an authority. He was as human as I am.
Romance / Re: How Should Men Overcome Womanizing? by pingu2k5(m): 7:44pm On Oct 18, 2010
It is a lie (self-deceit) when we say men have the in-built urge to be polygamous or to womanise. It is an excuse we give to answer our guilt.
From my observations, women enjoy sex more than men and most women don't get satisfaction from sex (depending on how their partners can perform) yet they don't see this as enough reason to see other men; they remain faithful to their partners inspite of this. If men are born womanisers then women should be born worse "manisers".
I think most women are able to deny themselves by sticking to a partner (despite not getting satisfying sex) because our society correctly makes them believe it is wrong to have multiple partners while most men find it difficult because our society WRONGLY makes us believe it is ok.
Anybody that truly wants to stop womanising should first accept that it is wrong; that it is a lie that men are polygamous. Then love your partner and be faithful to her. Prayer works too.
Life is beyond sex and man can do without sex.

2. When it comes to national development, I believe he's better qualified than most of the rogues on the presidential race.

What some Nigerians don't understand is that when the President said MEND had nothing to do with IBB (Independence Bomb Blasts), he meant that what MEND stands for is contrary to what the perpatrators of the blasts are/were trying to achieve with the blasts. If Okah is linked to the blasts, he is not representing MEND or the Niger Delta on this deed but rather his selfish and criminal interest while using MEND as a cover.

@Elrazur: what is logic? What is illogical? It seems it is only what you agree with that is logical. Paedophilia, incest, homosexuality are all un-natural and disgusting and should make you sick. There is nothing like logic; there is only the laws of the creator of everything.

@Elrazur: You do not understand Gudfolk's point. He is saying there cannot be congenital birth when the incestuous couple decide not to give birth by controlling it. You know the harm homosexuality causes the society, it depletes it instead of multiplying it.

@Gudfolk: do you really believe incest is right? Incest is a sin against God.
Foreign Affairs / Re: A Nigerian Male(25) To Marry A Male Vicar(65) - This Is Just Crazy! by pingu2k5(m): 10:04am On Aug 24, 2010
I did not get to choose the tribe I was born into because I am not of my own, I am of God. God chose the tribe I was born into for His purpose. I as well as everyone and everything on earth was created for God's purpose. We have the choice to live His purpose or not. Not living its purpose has its consequences.

Nobody is born a homosexual! I did not create anybody so I cannot fix anybody. I am saying homosexuals should go to their creator to fix them.
Foreign Affairs / Re: A Nigerian Male(25) To Marry A Male Vicar(65) - This Is Just Crazy! by pingu2k5(m): 9:36am On Aug 24, 2010
Why do some people find it difficult to obey the laws of God and easily honour and obey the laws of man? Someone asked, "why should we blame everything on the devil", we should because he is the deceiver of man. And we should also blame ourselves for accepting his deceits. When you do not believe in God and His existence, you begin to believe every lie the devil tells you. I repeat, nobody is born a homosexual; it is a trait they pick up while growing up.

Another person said we should be enlightened. Since every man is equal, why should I allow any man to rule over me? Why should I let a man dictate what I can or cannot do? Why can't I have sex with my daughter If I want to because she is mine? Why can't I kill my son for rituals because he is my son? Why can't I do drugs and trade drugs? I cannot do all these things because there are man-made laws that put limits to what I can do. God, Himself, instituted the government and He instructs us to obey the laws of the land. Does enlightenment only entail disobeying the laws of God?

Someone said, "normality is relative". That is also a big lie from the devil. What defines normality is the laws of God. Anything that opposes the laws of God is not normal; it is that simple. Anything that opposes the laws of man is a crime. If normality is relative, can I also say crime is relative too?

Homosexuality is not inborn! Something is wrong with homosexuals; they should return to their creator to fix them.
Foreign Affairs / Re: A Nigerian Male(25) To Marry A Male Vicar(65) - This Is Just Crazy! by pingu2k5(m): 5:56pm On Aug 23, 2010
@Tudor, El razur and the rest that don't believe in God:

First, the devil veils your mind from believing in God by deceiving you; making you believe that you are very (will be) intelligent if you do not believe in God. He did the same thing with Adam and Eve (telling them lies that they'ld "know"wink and the result of their fall is this damned world.

Second, he doesn't just stop there. He continues by making you believe and do everything that is against God; in other words, you join him in his revolt against God. The fate of the devil and his followers (both fallen angels and fallen men) is eternal destruction.

No wonder you do not see anything wrong with homosexuality. You do not believe in God; you do not believe in the natural order of things. It is a lie from the devil that some are born homosexuals. The God that created all things created everything for a purpose.

Believe it or not, God created you and everything. And His creation is for a purpose.

Don't you ever think you are a genius because you do not believe in God; it is just foolishness.
Religion / Re: Christian Student Disrupts Jumuat Service At UI by pingu2k5(m): 10:13am On Aug 23, 2010
The Qur'an, considered by Muslims to be God's final and authoritative revelation to humankind, mentions Jesus twenty-five times. It states that Jesus was born to Mary (Arabic: Maryam) as the result of virginal conception, a miraculous event which occurred by the decree of God (Arabic: Allah). To aid in his ministry to the Jewish people, Jesus was given the ability to perform miracles, all by the permission of God rather than his own power. According to Islamic texts, Jesus was neither killed nor crucified, but rather he was raised alive up to heaven. The Qur’an states that he will return to Earth near the day of judgment to restore justice and defeat al-Masīḥ ad-Dajjāl ("the false messiah", also known as the Antichrist) along with Imam Mahdi.

I read this somewhere, is this truly in the Koran?

@Sagamite: Christianity is not just a religion, it is a way of life. The way of life is following the truth. Jesus is God; He came to the world, like another Adam, to set the truth that we have all deviated from as a result of the sin of Adam. Jesus, the second Adam, came to correct the error the first Adam made that led humanity and the world in general to the damn state it is. He is coming a second time to separate the wheat from the shafts; those on the path of truth from those still being deceived by the mighty serpent. The shafts also include pastors, bishops, GOs etc that do not follow the example Jesus, who is the Truth, has laid down.

I thank God for you, Sagamite, that you, at least, believe that there must be some God somewhere. I want you to know today that this present world started with Jesus and it will end with Him.

Not believing in the existence of God is not some genius, it is outright foolishness.

read another report of the incident, you'll see it was reported that she was beaten mercilessly and it took the intervention of the VC. It might not have been all the muslims in the mosque that beat but i guess those that didnt were either far from her or could not reach her because there were already more that enough people giving her the beating of her life.

Christians would not keep mute. They might report the incident to the school authority but definitely they wouldnt beat the girl mercilessly as the muslims did.

Why is violence the first reaction of muslims to any utterance or action that they perceive is against their god and religion? If their god is not man-made then I presume he/she/it is greater than man. So why fight for or defend him/her/it? I need answers from muslims. Any god that I will need to fight for or defend instead of being the other way round does not worth being my god.

rasheebuk:

They seem to inconvinient one with their silly preaching.Even if you are a full ijabite, they would still come to you Its like they are always looking for trouble later they would now say muslims are terrorists

If a salesman comes to you to sell his goods and he's persistent about it to your dislike, what do you do? Turn him down and tell him never to come to you again OR beat the hell out of him and even go to the extent of killing him?

Even the most persistent "preaching Christians", the Jehovah's witnesses; if you tell them never to come to you again to preach, they will stop.

If Islam is not violent, then their leaders are deluding the followers by teaching them to be violent or why is it that the first reaction of a muslim to a slight provocation is violence? Muslims are NOT the only people in the world and they should learn how to resolve conflicts other than through violence.
Religion / Re: Christian Student Disrupts Jumuat Service At UI by pingu2k5(m): 10:43am On Aug 18, 2010
@Tudor
Mind you, I am not condemning Islam as a whole. I'm not even in the position to do so. I'm only condemning its support of violence, which is barbaric. And you don't have to believe in God or anything to know that killing people who do not agree with your believes is barbaric.

Christianity does not support violence. The new testament has annulled the practices of the old testament. The practice of Christianity under the new testament says: "turn your left cheek if your slapped on the right one". If any Christian does anything contrary to what is taught in the new testament, the Bible won't be used to defend such person.

I'm not in the position to judge that a religion is superior to another; I am just saying Islam is violent.
