I hope your second name na patience...those schools wey dey Birmingham BCU,Ulster etc are notoriously slow in issuing CAS ooo....the volume of students these schools are dealing with now is unprecedented...so you have to be mentally ready for this...all the best

Are you doing PHD or Master's? I doubt your visa duration is for 16months. Your vignette duration is for 90 days for Masters, this I know. For your dependant I think you need to input your own course start and end date at the visa validity period. I am not sure, please wait for others to make input.

2ndly, can 1 apply for visa without CAS?...ie he has started the CAS, but it is yet to be available

@yispa and all gurus in the house.... please my dependant (spouse) will apply soon ...my visa duration is for 16months....so by implication I will be paying £705?.... because I used the calculator on the UKVI website I was getting £940..

It's £470 per year. If you are applying for a year course, your BRP will actually last for more than a year (I think a year and four months or so). What this means is that the IHS fee to pay will be 1year+6months, which will be 470+235=£705. For a one year program you will pay £705. For 3 years program you will pay £470+£470+£470+£235=£1645

It may have been held for 28days but the balance in the 20th of May which wasn't given apart from the expected balance on that date the actual balance on that date may have been below the required balance...I also saw this attached refusal here on Nairaland....

But the gist is, i think this refusal you attached simply says the person did not hold the funds for 28days. if you have access to the statement, you can PM so we go through together.

I made my research very well and from the onset I suspected that this school will be very slow with things....for one they have one of the worst feedback system with enquires....they take forever to reply mails....so imagine how long it will take them to confirm payment, conduct pre-CAS interview and issue CAS this will take months....I just avoided the school like a plague...I already have my visa since first week of July for Sept session....

Good day house. Please i need the advice or should i say opinion of the elders on this.

My spouse just came through her CAS interview today. According to the interviewer, she performed excellently but the amount she quoted being in her account is low (12 m). Please note that she wasn't asked if she would be coming with her dependents. Though her responses were like one who would be going alone. She's feeling distraught at the remark made by the interviewer about the amount.
Also, apologies for me asking as i just stumbled on the group but is it ok to remove funds from the account of a visa applicant prior to or during visa application or processing?

That school is notoriously slow....you have to be patient...in your case it's just a week just have patience....

Right now, I know of about 18persons who didn't obey the rule and were denied post study visa.

Bro put your mind towards January I would say for that particular university...so many students have been complaining about their delay as regards CAS issuance...

Please I have a few pressing questions to ask.
I was offered an admission at Teesside University for September intake but the offer came on July 20.

1. Is it too late to start the process considering the 28days of account maturity before CAS and subsequently student visa application?

2. Can I apply for a deferral to January even though I have already accepted the offer?

3. If my deferral request is granted when is the appropriate time to start the process?

4. Must the POF be in my account for a period of 28days before I can apply for CAS? I already have the money in my account.

Send them a message that you waiting for the 25days to elapse...take note you will need at least a 28 days bank statement for your visa application...you can pay in small money to mark your day one and small money to mark your day 25 and day 28 cheers...

Thanks so much. but CAS gave me just 25days to send the POF to them. and the money will start counting on Monday because its a new account. can I send them message that I'm yet to meet the mandatory 28days or send the acct to them?

It Should be for 28 days...I understand you are kinda in a hurry ...if you don't do it rightly you will delay your CAS with your own hands....you are most likely going to use the same bank statement for the issuance of CAS and visa application...

I don't think this your information is correct...the rule is that the earliest you can apply is 3 months to your course start date ...so you can apply later than that.....infact some schools still issue CAS 2 weeks after resumption...in June I know students that applied for visa in the first week of July for school that resumed in mid June....

The instruction states that application for student visa should be made three month to the date one intend to be in UK. Which means you must have been granted CAS by the university.
We are already in the month of August so my advice stick all your energy towards January admission which is five month from now. Best of wishes

Just try making payments very early in the morning....between 4:00am and 6:00am... access and gtbank...my opinion though

If bank is not issuing then either you get it from the black market or if you have somebody over there the person can make the payment for you while you give him/her the naira equivalent in Nigeria....you can also find out if there are payment platforms which you can use,but may cost you more....

Goodday.....)there is a place for explanation in case you misplaced your refusal letter in your CAS shield and you cannot submit the CAS shield until this section is complete how did you handle this part?...did you just totally ignore the issue about the UK refusal because you lost the letter and you didn't give an explanation why you were refused?....nah you find trouble it's a simple comply or explain system...it's as if you have something to hide ..you made them more sceptical... anyways if you still have the reference number of the visa refusal on your old passport(assuming you have a new one ) draft a letter stating the reason for your refusal with the reference number send it to the e-mail that has QAHE...you will be fine...my opinion though

Great Minds here, I have been following this trend as a guest for some days now. I got an unconditional offer at Ulster university, made 50% payment, sent my TB cert but at the point of issuing my CAS, i was asked to send copies of my UK and US refusal letters, I have for US but my UK had been thrashed since i never knew it would be requested for at anypoint in my life.

I sent that of US but I was told to present that of UK even though I told them during CAS interview that I thrashed it long ago. Now I got a mail that CAS will not be issued without that.

Please I need assistance on how to get out of this quagmire. I need help right now. @justwise, Lagosismyhome and other great minds please help

That's not true....buy dollars from the aboki or if you can get it from any other means, pay into your dorm account, then transfer the funds to your card account immediately...you are good to go..
