Good evening house. How can I get fast response from Veritas Registrar? I did not receive the recently paid dividend from Zenith Bank. I submitted e-dividend mandate to them around September 2022 through Meristem securities and I think It was not adequately processed. I have contacted Meristem and I am yet to be updated about the complaint.
Submit e-mandate through your bank.
Send a follow up email after a week or put a call across to them. I did this and my DANGSUGAR dividend was paid within 3 weeks of submission of e-mandate

I am going to submit my e-dividend mandate for Dangote sugar, however i will like to know if there other ways to push to ensure it is paid.

CareerRe: How I Almost Died Working At A Construction Site by pizapato(m): 11:43pm On Jan 17, 2023
HeRulesMen:
I don't know if this is the right section to post this, if not, mod please take it to the right section.

My online brothers and sisters, help me thank God for preserving my life as I almost left this wicked world last Friday, 13th January, 2023. 13th January has become a day I will never forget in life. Since I graduated from the university, I am yet to get a job that is well-deserving of my status. I'm not talking about big jobs with heavy remuneration (not as though I won't grab it if I see one of such) but just something to earn a living from. The last salaried job I did was a contract job which lasted only 6 months. Since then, despite my efforts, applying to every nook and cranny to land a job, I have been unlucky. However, I still keep hope alive.

However, it makes me think Nigeria really need to redefine and re-axamine the value of education in the country and what it stands for. Does it stand for nation building or for frustration? That is something for another day BTW.

Back to the topic, so with a woman and two kids to take care of, I had to go do labourer job at a construction site to earn something. That Friday was my second day in the place. I never thought it would end in disaster but I thank God that even after falling from such a distance, I didn't die, neither the mason man that was on the scaffold.

The thing is that I was carrying mortar and blocks to the mason, climbing using ladder. You know this local scaffold builders use. That thing they nailed together as V 'abi' L, place them on the wall and put planks on top to stand on. I don't know what happened that the blocks put at one end to weigh its balance failed while I was already up there. Long story short, everything collapsed and that was how we landed on the ground from the finishing end of the building. It should be a distance of 12 feet or more.

What worsened the case was the mason. As the scaffold collapsed, he immediately and unconsciously grabbed the newly laid blocks in safety attempt, not remembering he just laid those blocks. You know that kind thing. Landing on ground, that was how those blocks came upon us in their number like some sort of blast. To top it all, I didn't earn a penny that day. The man is even blaming us for the collapse.

I sustained injuries but my waist especially seems to have dislocated as a result of hitting it on ground while landin. I have been feeling sharp pains from the inside since then.

Since that Friday, I have been down physically and psychologically. As I am reflecting on it today, I decided to write it down.

No matter how it has affected me, physically, psychologically, economically and health-wise, I still thank God for sparing my life and I want you to join me in thanking him.

Thank you for reading also.
Thank God for saving your life.

Labour job is no easy job. Since you are educated, at least find a teaching job in a secondary school near you and manage that while you keep finding a better job.

May God open ways for you

Realist12:
Lol, Obasanjo identifies that Obi is a boy that's why he's rooting for him . Recall he imposed Yar Adua and Goodluck Jonathan as soon as Jonathan started thinking independently he withdrew his support.
This is enough evidence for the gullible supporters to know Obi will be a puppet.

You can't expect Obasanjo to support Tinubu who fought against his oppressive stance as a governor in Lagos.
Even if he imposed Yaradua and Jonathan, anyone who is truthful to himself can attest that the economy was far better on both compared to what we have had in the last 8 years.

May be that's an indication that he supports those he can advise to make the country a better place for everyone

Same Obasanjo that endorsed Atiku in the 2019 general elections?
It was a case of choosing the lesser evil.

Since 2019, how has the economy fared under Buhari?
Only those who lie to themselves will claim things hasn't got worse since 2019.

No politician is a saint. For every election, there is always the choice to pick the lesser evil amongst the options available.

Nigerians need to get to a stage where politicians are voted out of office after the first term if they fail to perform. That should have been Buhari's case in 2019, because all indication pointed towards a disastrous second term after the first term

Might interest you to know there are more fatal crashes in North America than Germany.
Germans have proven time and again that they're just not into bullshit,
End of story.
My point is health care in Nigeria is not good enough for someone to be risking his life top speeding on poorly maintained roads.

It doesn't matter if Germany has low accident rate than the US, you cannot compare health services available in both to what is obtainable in Nigeria.

The poster has a point. You are more or less dead if involved in any crash on top speed in Nigeria.

You can't compare emergency response in Germany to Nigeria.
I was in Harz mountain one time when a biker had a crash on top speed. The emergency response team came to pick up the guy with a helicopter.

Yes, you are right. But then, payment for school fees is just a small percentage compared to other factors draining our foreign exchange. What majorly contributes to depreciation of the naira are the constant demand for foreign exchange to import crude oil products. Think of the amount of dollars needed to import fuel on a yearly basis and you will know that we are our enemy. Another one is the demand for foreign exchange by manufacturers to procure raw materials abroad, not to talk about high cost of operations largely due to energy to power their factory. As we speak, diesel is around N800.

The question is: do we have any business at all importing fuel? The answer is NO. About 80% of funds expended to build Dangote Refinery were loans obtained from consortium of banks. So, this same government that has been borrowing to build rail lines cannot borrow to build refinery under 7 years, rather they prefer to spend trillions on subsidy every year. This subsidy payment comes in million of dollars and it is a huge drain on our national reserve.
If the goverment invest in a refinery such that it is a joint venture between goverment and a private firm, it can work.
However, if it is solely owned by goverment, it will be grounded in few years. Saboteurs will find a way to keep the refinery grounded.

Dangote refinery will work because it is a private business and the owner will do everything possible to prevent sabotage.

First, I do not agree with Rabbi's first call that dollar will crash to Naira. I will only begin to take naira serious:
1. when fuel subsidy is removed (then you have a serious economy)
2. Or oil exports is increased to more than 1.5M barrels daily
3. Or when the CBN stops printing new money for the FG to spend (Over 700 billion new nairas in September alone)
4. Dangote refinery is another factor I am looking at that may help the country

For a country that has about $500M Eurobond due in July and has no option but to debit foreign reserves. How can Naira appreciate long term?
The above was what I meant when I said I've not seen any significant changes in the financial book of the country. For naira to appreciate all or most of the above must be achieved.

By the way make we leave dollar naira matter, na stock carry us reach here.

Be like accumulation of zenith is going on

It might get there. Believe it or not, dangote refinery and a change in the country's economic team could make a lot of difference. I will love to see the impact of that refinery on fx supply.
God keep us alive, I will be here to remind you.

For me I don't see it going below #600. The next goverment will likely try to find a balance between the official and black market rates, which will necessitate further devaluation of the official rate.

If APC win the election, expect the rate to go over #1000.

Guys, Nigeria is our country and majority of us want a better future for the country. However, with the ongoing hypes about just a week appreciation on Naira is a hoax to say the least. You see government agencies threatening arrest and all that are not the solution.

The charts are all saying the same thing that Naira-Dollar is experiencing minor pullbacks and nothing more. A re-test of recent high is highly possible coming weeks... That's the reality!
grin grin grin grin grin
I just dey laugh with all the motivational talks of Naira appreciating and rates getting to 415.

It is my prayer it goes down so I can buy more $$ with my dividend early next year.
Nothing has changed in the financial book of the country that suggest dollar will be stable.

Who ever bought ~#550 should not have any worry. They've moved the official rate from #315 to #440 in the last 2 years.

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by pizapato(m):
Biakwa:
What if that same dollar nosedive to 720 what song will you be singing?
That's nothing to worry about, anybody buying dollar should be doing it for long term.

I believe CBN is trying to mop us cash before trying to stabilizing the exchange rate. However, expect rates to continue to rise in the near future. Even if $1 crashes to 500 today on the black market, do you think it will stay at the same rate in 2-3 years time.

The current CBN administration and the government messed up big time.

In 2015, dollar was 180. Today it is #440 officially (devalued by 144%). Even if you kept dollar since then and did not invest at all, you might be better off those that have been investing in fixed income even when they compound every kobo.

In the same time frame On the black market side, it has moved from #200 to #770, that's almost 300% loss of value.

Stocks seems to be the only naira based investment capable of beating devaluation overtime, however the current rate of devaluation is so much that it might even be difficult for stocks to beat devaluation.

I am afraid and really hope we don't go the Lebanon way.
