Very similar to what I mentioned here a few weeks ago, the sharp decline with Naira is inevitable, looking at the prices of commodities now can only indicate what will happen in less than a year from now.

I am thinking moving all my Naira to a fixed asset like property which has shown tremendous increase in value from 2020 till now, but then the difficulty remains either buying an already built or buy and build, the more you wait, the more costs go up.

I might just find a reputable real estate company and mitigate the risks to them

The world will soon be done with dollar hegemony. Russia/Ukraine crisis has opened the eyes of many countries. China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, India and other nations are now concluding plans on how to trade with each other using their local currencie instead of using dollars as the only means of payment. It is only a matter of time before African countries follow suit, dollar is certainly still gonna dominate but it will definately lose lots of relevance on the international market.

It is only a matter of time... The pace to reduce the strength of dollar globally has already been set.... even IMF has seen the hand writing on the wall.

The dollar is also a moving target. If the current usd inflation rate of 7.5% continues, 100 usd today would be worth 50usd in 10 years. (rule of 70)

Sad enough, same dollar is still gaining 10% over the naira every year. i.e, it takes 7 years for the naira to lose 50% of its value against the dollar.

If you combine both, you see how much value the naira is sadly loosing in real terms.

Like you said, the real alpha for a Nigerian comes with investing to beat the inflation rate of the dollar. That way, one will be looking at at least 18% appreciation per annum in naira value of investments.

That is Nigeria stock market for you. Any company with good result and dividend payout plan should move the price upward. We are so much attached to dividend in this world. When company payout large proportion of profit as dividend, how will they grow? is it not better a company withholds entire profit and use the money for expansion of business? Investors can recoup their money through capital appreciation. Google and Tesla don't dividend but good results skyrocket the price

Recession in US and some EU states is inevitable. Emerging markets will only face hardship in various forms or another. I quite agree bro but let me shock you. In 2019, i was fed up of all this and i visited MFM on Lagos Ibadan express way. I was there for 3 days for the end of the year deliverance program. It was powerful and i believe that i will be free after the program, I was very optimistic and i was really thanking God because i felt something. Do you believe that when i got home after the 3 days prayer, my brother sent me some money (i think about 30k).m In my mind i was like yes this is it, a new life. Not up to 1 hour that i got home, i begin to cough again. Before i could blink i deposited my money into my Forex account and within 1 hour all the money is gone.
