The wife should have told the husband. What is marriage if you keep that kinda stuff away from each other? People just don't learn. Otherwise, she'd have known that stuff like this could end the marriage.

I met my boss where I served a single man. I initially thought the wife was late or she was away in another country. He told me when we got closer why he became a single man again. The wife built a house and only told him when she was done, and she wanted them to move together. The man refused cause they were living in his own house too. That was how the marriage ended!

I don't expect that a man pays for whatever I need at that particular moment, at the point of our meeting. I had my things sorted out before anyway. However, if he offers to, I won't stop him. It has happened to me a couple of times when men I barely knew offered to do stuff - one insisted on paying for my shopping at the mall, another paid for my hair at the salon, and another one paid for my T.fare from Ondo State where I served to Lagos. A question for all the insensitive town planners and estate surveyors on this thread: the Makoko suburb goes as far as areas that are located fully on land, like the CCC headquarters in Makoko and also by extension to Adekunle, Sabo, Oyadiran, behind Alagomeji, Iwaya.....will those be demolished too? Then Tinubu's gonna be very busy!

This makoko shanty town is a security risk and not befitting for the area it occupies, so government is right in going into the area to open it up, but the settler's should be compensated, legitimate settlers or people who bought land/property legitimately through the local channels should be compensated. Government must act with a human face, housing is a big problem in Lagos, the government should be building low cost housing to rent, not sell, to help the working class and budding entrepreneurs who are a part of our buoyant economy and society.

Lagos State government please build low cost housing like the late Legend Sir Lateef Jakande of blessed memory did, this is a form of welfare which a rich state like Lagos should be doing.

Also please stop demolishing houses, unless a critical road need to pass through or for imminent environmental factors, otherwise it is not enough to demolish homes because people don't have governor consent or papers, those struggling legitimate people built those homes without mortgage with sweat and blood, please encourage the good and working class and entrepreneurs...wave costs off consent/regularisation of papers of properties in downtown, low-cost areas, most of the struggling people buy these lands from local families which is legitimate...goverment should focus on taxing properties in more affluent areas, like in Lekki Victoria Island, and high brow areas....let the people in downtown lake, ibeju Lekki, Epe breathe so they can build themselves and people who depend on them, these are struggling people. We need more houses demolition compounds the problems of housing in Lagos.
