There no different between computer language and programming languages. This actually a debate that has gone on for sometime if html is a programming language. Html is not Turing complete therefore you cant use it to do anything like a mobile design.

one of the difference is the fact that programming languages constitute the logic of a computer program(html being a language the computer understand but cannot be used to write the logic of a program).

Html might not be Turing complete (which is a quality of most programming languages) but it orders the computer around which is what a programming language is. A language used to instruct the computer, it tells the computer through the browser how to render a html page.

HTML is no doubt a computer language but not a programming language,however a markup language. Whatever qualifies html as a programming language automatically makes CSS a programming language.
I have asked the OP to implement a facade or factory pattern in html or write a simple algorithm that prints 1 through 5 in html. your assumptions are not correct!china's industrial growth is largely due to European and american companies moving production into china.
goods might be produced in china but not china's intellectual properties.cheap labor and an initial friendly economic policies made many industries move production to china.China in turn in spying and copying these products.china does not really have much in terms of technology.
China is also no match for Western powers in any way,even though it relies on massive military,intelligence is one of chinas main weakness.

The fact Javascript , php have control structure does not mean it can be used to create machine software.

@aitoehigie,this is the challenge i took years ago,to be original in my creation,solve problems(technology,business and otherwise) that are specific to our environment and economy in this part of the world(Africa).i have been on that journey for sometime now and it has been challenging, exciting and interesting,as someone said,"challenges are what make life interesting, solving them is what make life meaningful."
It is a life time learning and practice,as such I do not call myself a web developer or engineer(although I do all of those and I am well grounded in these things).It is even beyond web or mobile development many are touting.
Today I write plenty of problem-solution requirement and elicitation.
Many applications and business models around us today are copied without any modification because those behind it only care about the money not the mission.

There is nothing wrong in being self taught, I am tutoring myself in multiple cs courses like OS development, Internet architecture, linear algebra, physics (for the sake of gameplay programming) and System Architecture (this is very good for programmers and CS students in order to spit out code that makes optimising compilers look like dumbos). I want to also continue on Calculus (edx tutors make this stuff seem like cake, shame on Nigerian lecturers and teachers) and some others. It just depends on how you see yourself, some see it as some stupid achievement that makes them smart like Tesla while I see it as a necessity. Even college students should do it.

man,i love your comment.You had part of what i wanted to say in mind! I have key things to say on this subject but no time to type. I am both side of the equation,self taught and Mathematics/CS. Our country and educational system is a major problem. I just went the way of self learning but the knowledge of CS theories is important if your looking beyond application development.Things like OS development,hardware,robotics,etc.
Like you,am also self studying on subjects like robotics,advance mathematics,etc. There are oppotunities i see beyond app. development in africa and the world at large,but i am a die hard software engineer. i program in JAVA,PHP,JS(stacks include: MERN,MEVN),PYTHON,SQL,NOSQL,neo4J,etc. I also do lots of software analysis and UX/UI design using Agile methodology.This field is wide don't limit your self!
