When I was young,I always wanted to be a medical doctor. Growing up, I decided I wanted to a commercial student,this time with no particular career in mind. My love for Economics was the force driving me to get going. I wrote my SSCE (WAEC & NECO) with the aim of studying Economics. My father denied me the opportunity of studying this course. Why??
His reason was because Economics isn't as professional as Accounting. That year,I was devastated because I hated Accounting. All I was doing was because I needed it to graduate from my secondary school.
Long story short, I am not practicing what I studied in the university. I am ,now, a freelance copywriter and a fashion designer.

Your parents are desperately hoping that you rescue them from chaos. They won't tell you directly because it will signify failure on their own part since they probably failed to rescue their own parents as well. As they grow older, their most desired wishes would be for you to take care of them as they've done to you at the very least, but it far transcends that. It is to build upon what they've built and carry the responsibility to strengthen the family and resurrect them from struggles that they couldn't defeat. The more successful and sophisticated a person you become, the happier they will be since their fulfillment is tied to your success. Don't disappoint them.

Life taught me to follow my instincts & not those around me who ever they may be. We know ourselves better than everyone else but God. We are made differently so that there can be changes. Grow towards your direction.

" I remember growing up as a child, i thought life is just six years in primary school, six in secondary, the following year for jamb, next is to gain admission into the universty, spend another 4 or 5 years in the universty, look for job, get the money, build my house and buy the latest car in town, and then look for a wife.

But while growing up, i find out that life is not what i thought it is. Six years in secondary turned 8 years rather.

I know of my childhood friend who told me he would become a lawyer, but haven repeatedly written jamb for 5 times without a break through, he was force to start learning a mechanic work.

Sometimes, i ask myself; what is the purpose of living, why is living a life so difficult..

At this point in time, my lesson is that nothing good comes easy; and to be happy, you have to make others happy too.

Nevertheless, I advice you stay with your first job. Plan to harness some monies to start doing something (self employed biz) but you must first remove your ego or pride. I advice you go into livestock.

I just read the story of a woman who couldn't rent a house because the landlord said he didn't like single women renting rooms in his house.

I'm asking because where I live, people would rather rent their boys quarters to women and girls than men and boys. Because they think men are more violent and prone to cause trouble than women due to incidents that have happened in the past.

So, could the reason be misogyny or something else like maybe past encounters with single women renting their rooms

Y'all be chasing jobs just to upgrade your CV. By the time real job and real salary will come, you're no longer in need of such opportunities. You end up spending most of your time on earth chasing wind, at the end no comfort. There's no sense in being educated in these western ways if it doesn't bring about daily life changes.

My current employer pays me N50k monthly with accommodation & transport benefits. Now, I have a new job offer of N80k salary with no accommodation. And the monthly estimation of transport fare for the new job would be N36k (from the N80k). But the only thing I am considering now is the new position I am offered, which would be of great value to my career pursuit. The new pay is nothing to write about, I am only considering the value the new position would add to my CV. Actually, our agreement during the interview was N80k for the three months' probationary period & there would be increment with satisfactory performance. The first offer letter they sent had N60k pay for the probation & N20k increment afterwards, which I rejected. The new offer letter has N80k pay with no increment after the probation. And, I would sign a year contract with them. I doubt surviving in Lagos with the salary. My current job is not in Lagos.

Kindly advise me on what to do. I have just 24hrs to accept or reject the offer.

8. Shoe cobblers. As simple as u may think the job is, it involves strenght and skills. It is not as easy as u may think
