In this video, we're going to talk about the dirty politics behind the Second Niger Bridge. This bridge is a vital piece of infrastructure that connects the eastern part of Nigeria to the west, and it's been in the works for years. But now there's controversy surrounding the project, and we need to know what's really going on. The Second Niger Bridge is one of the most critical project not just for the Igbos or people of the south east but for Nigeria as a whole. It is the answer to the frequent gridlocks experienced on the old Niger bridge. This critical bridge has been politicized for more than half a century. Now that the bridge is almost completed and opened to the public. This video comprehensively breaks down the history of this bridge, why It took so long, the politicians involved, The specifications of the bridge and why tolling is inevitable on this bridge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtGBFaTKjS4 Nlfpmod Lalasticlala Mynd44 Seun

Smithkafors:No sense... Even in Dubai or UK..a train can't stop that instant to avoid the crash.. The lady committed suicide.. |

Melonsmasher:Note that it is not just any bridge ... .that bridge cost more than 1 billion dollars as at 2018..when it began construction by JB...you call that mediocre.... JB is a full fledge and registered Nigerian company..there is nothing wrong in hiring them.. don't be naive and dumb.. Inshort most of Julius berger operations and investment are in Nigeria .. with the profit they have made from handling huge projects such as this bridge..they have reinvested many into building training centres, multiple yards in Abuja , Lagos , port Harcourt, warri.. a new cashew processing plant in Lagos, an aluminum plant in Ibadan .. their key investments are in Nigeria.. they also own a glass manufacturing plant in the same Nigeria.. Building such key project..no sane government will compromise it by giving it to a company without capacity even though it is owned by a Nigerian.. there are a lot of local contractors but they don't have such capacity.. China handles key projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai , eygpt, Saudi Arabia..why not go and blast those countries.. Eygpt new capital is handled by Chinese firms.. South Korea companies build key infrastructure in the US and UK..why not insult Biden for that..you sound like an illiterate So because JB originated from Germany they should be denied contracts . ITB is a Lebanon owned company but it is this same company behind eko Atlantic in Lagos..so because it origin is Lebanon.. government should deny them contracts and specifically look for the ones of Nigerian origin... Tomorrow you will complain why foreign investors don't flock to Nigeria or the little 9kes are leaving Just say you are pained.. |
TristanX:What is the standard or bridge in other countries..that makes you think this is an exception...ewu.. Asthetics isn't key...the fact is that the bridge serves it full purpose and can withstand whatever it can be prone to in any environment ...that is what is important.. |
Nazgul:Are you a dunce ..Appointment is not an achievement... If he appointed igbos to head the navy and army .what did they do...is the former chief of army staff better than Buratai ..the answer is no.. you can't compare the arsenals added to the army in buratai time to that of the Igbo chief... Plus.. GEJ never introduced any innoson technology.. The military signed an agreement with innoson same thing they did with many other private groups in line with technology to assist the military in capacity building..it isn't exclusive to innoson..and you can call that an achievement because it doesn't affect the masses.. building infrastructure is what brings impact.. something GEJ did nothing... The main civil construction of the 2nd Niger bridge began in 2018 |
Nazgul:The only rail project by this government is Lagos Ibadan.. warri itakpe and Kaduna to Kano which is ongoing..there is no such thing as a rail to Niger republic..it is a lie.. Otherwise post pictures of the project let Nairalanders see..how come we always say updates on every rail project except the non existing one to Niger |
Tokskob2008:Bole |
AsomughaChuks05:Should Gov. Ugwuanyi drag the people out to work? |
HazardAwka:That is not the solution to ending UGM |
DevilSignature:But when government sent out troops to orlu and the other places to deal with Ipob...may of you sympathized with IPOB... At this point we should all accept that this is exclusively in the hands of the SE people they caused every bit of it with their support...even when troops try to get rid of these bandits ...we despise their effort... It is a family affairs let the SE face it |
yahoodetector:Rubbish...if the governor sends the army and there is a clash.. you hypocrite and confused dunce blame the governor Let all the SE leaders rest and allow the Igbos destroy themselves..we cannot be waiting for government to think for ourselves |
jimcaddy:Lol.. If they do such . Won't you still wail against them.. so CBN orders politicians to reveal hidden money and the politicians will just open up like that? |
lrman:You should be able to pay with your card if the business owners have POS machines.. Inshort with this new policy..every average retailer will order for one to make transactions easier. The rural areas will be the worst hit along with POS operators..but trust Nigerians a few months after everyone will adjust |
Hearing Northern Nigeria, one will quickly picture insecurities, infrastructure decay, poverty and so on. The truth is the north has been stepping up it's game in recent times. From remarkable infrastructure embarked upon by state governments across the 19 northern states with that of Kano, Kaduna and Borno making headlines to the discovery of oil in the north. There are a lot of silent projects undertaken in the north that is expected to change the whole economy of that region. Many of these projects are rarely discussed online unlike projects in the south (2nd Niger bridge, Lagos light rail, Lagos Ibadan expressway etc.) which we tend to see a lot of updates about. Most mega projects in the north are rarely reported. The recent discovery of oil is an example. Very few people knew there were oil explorations going on in the north not until it was completed. The video below helps highlights some of northern Nigeria's biggest investment and infrastructure project which are on track to change the phase of the region. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf7it24WPzs |
sanya4good:God bless you for this... If Dangote had be allowed to take over pH refinery..trust me by now..import of fuel would have been history... He would have completely rehabilitated and expanded it..and probably bought more moribund refineries.. Just look at how he bought and transformed Obajana cement plants and benue cement company..all were moribund under government |
SirJerrie:You did not understand what you quoted.. Nigeria being a major oil producer or not. She doesn't control the price of crude..if we had working refineries fuel prices will still be close to what we have today . excluding the inflation attached to it due to scarcity |
BlackMan6969:So #2600 when diesel was around #280 per liter isn't cheap.. Today diesel is over #750..you still want NRC to charge #2600.. If tomorrow you hear things like train stoping half way cuz of fuel management or the whole system collapsing cuz of lack of money for maintenance..you will go around wailing... It is you that don't have vision Your consign shouldnt be to charge at the cheapest price..but at the price convenient to run the system and ensure proper maintenance.. |
Manny21:How did mismanagement cause diesel to rise.. Seems you are not current |
Bridget95:If you think Obi's government will reverse this situation..then you must be deluded and a joker ![]() Shockingly people think voting obi means prices goes back to normal..lol None the less vote him... |
Zenzu01:Why should there be a governor's lodge in ebonyi state when there is a government house there ![]() The governor's lodge built in Abuja to enable every governor or top state government officials to have a convenient place to stay while in Abuja for official duties. Every state has a lodge or house where their governor or state government officials stays when they have meetings and businesses with the federal government In Abuja.. they are not to lodge in hotels during regular visits to the capital. |
Who be Ortom? ![]() |
muykem:The government performed poorly in economy. if the government prioritized the rehabilitation of the three refineries. we won't be suffering the effect of fuel scarcity and the rapid devaluation of the currency. Fuel scarcity contributed to inflations.. Flight tickets rose up mainly due to Jet A1 scarcity. also the continuous import of fuel played another key role. If those refineries were fixed before anything. the effect of Covid, Russia Ukraine war and oil dip in 2014 would have be minimal or atleast no gotten to this level. |
