MORNDEW: okonjo iweala was made minister of finance. Have u also asked y.
Ribadu was competent for the job nd he was ofered it. He was never a politician den.
Ribadu was not the only competent for the job, and similar point can be made in the Okonjo case. In Rabadu's case, it even more so because his superiors were not in total support of his appointment, as he wasn't the best qualified.

If at this point you don't see how PDP had a hand in making Ribadu, don't be surprised if I stop responding to you.
PoliticsRe: An Open Letter To Nuhu Ribadu. by PointB: 11:17am On Aug 18, 2014
MORNDEW: hw did Pdp discover him nd how did dey make him. Was he a member of pdp?
You don't have to be a PDP member to be discovered by PDP. Ribadu was appointed Head of EFCC when others could have been appointed? Have you tried to ask why?

MORNDEW: was he a politician den nd what evidence do u hv dat he was in Pdp.
Put it this way, and it help you understand better:

PDP discovered him, PDP made him
APC used him, APC betrayed him
He's dumped APC, he's back to basics!

PoliticsRe: “You Are Subjecting Ndigbo To Perpetual Beggarly Status”–APC Blasts Igbo Leaders by PointB: 10:58am On Aug 18, 2014
egift: So you are supporting PDP? - the party you acknowledge is "killing Nigerians and is looting everything".
You didn't understand what I wrote.

I simply argue that there is no empirical evidence to call PDP 'killer party", just is there is no emperical evidence to call APC "jihadist party with supporter of APC ideology". These terminologies are simply products of reactive politics - POLITIC 101.

APC and PDP are same, none is better than the other. But PDP are simply bigger, more organized, and are incumbent!

To put my answer to your question in context, I supported Oshiomole (APC), Obiano (APGA), Rochas (APGA), Fashola (APC), Mimiko (Labour). I did not support neither Aregbesola ('the jihadist') (APC) nor Omisore ('the prison rigger') (PDP).

To answer your question directly - I DO NOT SUPPORT POLITICAL PARTIES. I am not a card carrying member of any political party!
PoliticsRe: An Open Letter To Nuhu Ribadu. by PointB: 10:28am On Aug 18, 2014
Ribadu is free from the supporters of APC and their ideology of deception, betrayal, and propaganda. That I believe is all that matters to him. Every other thing is secondary!
PoliticsRe: “You Are Subjecting Ndigbo To Perpetual Beggarly Status”–APC Blasts Igbo Leaders by PointB: 10:05am On Aug 18, 2014
egift: I agree with you. But you still did not pass the opportunity to embrace PDP (one political option) and call APC "these jihadists with their supporter of APC ideology" (your other political option).

Any many of us from Aligbo and Nigeria at large, do not worry much - Once APC is in power, majority of Ndigbo will migrate to APC with a very colourful slogan "in politics, there is no permanent enemy".

APC...Nigeria...Progress!
Calling APC "jihadists with supporter of APC ideology" is akin to calling PDP "killer party, with corrupt members", it doesn't have to be founded on empirical evidence, it simply - POLITICS 101. If you don't want your party to be tagged with bad names, don't go around tagging another party with such. What's sauce for goose, is sauce for gander!

By the way, not all Igbos tag APC with such name, but mostly those who are sympathetic to PDP (fortunately they are in huge number). These Igbos (as well as other Nigerians) are bound to do what they have to support their party - even if it means damaging the image of the other party. Again, that's Politics 101.

If APC survives the trial by fire, and thrives, it will simply be because, it indeed provided a real alternative to PDP not because of it's childish petty propaganda. And when the party proves itself, progressive Nigerians (which of course include Igbos) will embrace them, only then will they come to power. But we all know this will not happen until the jihadists Janjaweedian ideology is completely uprooted from the party! There is no short-cut!

PoliticsRe: “You Are Subjecting Ndigbo To Perpetual Beggarly Status”–APC Blasts Igbo Leaders by PointB: 8:15am On Aug 18, 2014
We didn't put all our Eggs in one basket, we have people like Ogbonnaya Onu, Chris Ngige, Rochas, Amaechi etc in APC. Even here in Nairaland, folks like Berem, Egift, Cleverly, etc ably represent Igbo interest in APC Nairaland.

Or is it until all of Igbo join APC sheepishly, that these jihadists with their supporter of APC ideology will be happy? Anyway, that's not gonna happen anytime soon. APC has not proved itself to the Igbo nations, I don't see why we Igbos should embrace it without restraint.

By the way, 'keeping' the Nigerian presidency away from Igbos will continue to spur us on to greater height. If in doubt ask those who have had the presidency the longer "How far?"
PoliticsRe: Professor Viola Onwuliri On Okorocha & The Iriji Maise new Yam Festival by PointB: 8:00am On Aug 18, 2014
Rochas missed the opportunity when he turned Father Christmas in Imo State with his educational policy, among others. A state that churn out huge number of graduate, and ranked as one of the state with very high literate female does not need pittance (100 naira, free this, free that) to encourage children to go to school. There was no point declaring bogus free education at all level, which was not well thought out. Those money could have been used to improve the infrastructure of the state, and improve the business climate of the state.

Now Rochas is very deep in politics of succession/second term to even contemplate this. And he seems to enjoy politics more than actually working for the state. Imo State is very important, and quite strategic in Igboland to be left to a bumbling governor. I say Rochas quickly retrace his steps or be bundled out in the next election. Imo State cannot, and should not be left behind in the gale of positive development blowing from Onitsha to Uyo!

Rochas should stand-out or bow-out!

Interesting hard time for APC.

Tis a very bitter to swallow, but they must swallow it! Losing Ribadu to PDP is indeed a major blow
PoliticsRe: FG Sacks 16,000 Resident Doctors by PointB: 1:42pm On Aug 15, 2014
Sacking doctors who aren't working will not affect the ebola (and other health) situation negatively. FG should recruit doctors who are willing to work. I find it difficult that doctors are willing to allow patients die (in hospitals and at home) just to prove a point! I hold no sympathy for them!
PoliticsRe: Defecting To PDP Would Be Ribadu’s Worst Mistake In Life— Kwankwaso by PointB: 1:24pm On Aug 15, 2014
Principled people have no business with an unprincipled party like APC! Ribadu is right to want out of this Associations of Power Contractors which is primarily fueled by anger and pain.

Pray, say, apart from propaganda, what else is APC good for?

It's up to him.

PDP is ridding itself of many of it's bad eggs. People like Ribadu will make big difference in Adamawa, and of course Nigeria. I only hope he's sincere, as this particular cross-carpeting is fraught with a lot of suspicion.

Point is rescuing the girls from Sambisa forest from these bomb cuddling, blood lusting, dastard butchers could result in massive causality of the kidnapped girls; only a surgical operation when a good opportunity presents itself will suffice. It's not a matter of ultimatums and deadlines!

Now the question is, what have these 'Northern Elders' done to help?

collynzov5: The market is big enough for everyone.
No matter how comperitive their price is it won't be as cheap as their second hand imported vehicles.
How can you be sure of this?

collynzov5: Whether Nissan and the likes hit town or not does not change anything.
Nigerians have been buying Nissan and Toyota cars long before Innoson came up.
It's does change things a lot.

If Nissan and Toyota start manufacturing their cars in Nigeria and offer competitive price, Innoson will have to double up on all fronts. Swamping the market with his product much earlier would have given him enough head start. The best time for him to have acted was yesterday, next best time is now!

collynzov5: But the facilities are not in place, that is the point.
You guys should let him concenterate on expansion of his plants which is and should be his priority right now.
We are saying, he's moving too slowly! He should strike now that the iron is hot! Can he compete with the like of Nissan, and other big auto company when the hit town?

Innoson needs aggressive growth; it's in his interest!
Car TalkRe: INNOSON: Flying The Flag by PointB: 5:03pm On Aug 08, 2014
kettykin: after a very successful test of the new sedan/saloon models , Innosson should endeavour to come to the stock market to diffuse the ownership of his company so that states , other companies, individuals can buy shares , he should do a public offer and raise the much needed capital to build a Mega car manufacturing and assembly plant that will serve the whole Africa and Middle East + Asia.

An example is the states in the east buying into the company in return for 100% patronage and high profile eastern individuals who have money but dont know what to do with , rather than go and buy and develop useless landed property in Mowe, Ikorodu,Aja,Epe,Ibafo in lagos and Karu,Kubwa, gwagwalada, dutse, lafia, keffi, akwanga, suleja and the boko haram regions should be able to invest into the company for themselves and their offspring

Generally this would help him break into the 100,000 per annum range and enable him to attract top automobile designers , engineers , sales men, after sales support for the whole of Africa and and make the core components of the cars in Nnewi while outsourcing some to Asia and Europe .

Innosson has the capacity to do this but should not delay as competition might come and things would change and become more competitive in the automobile manufacturing business in Nigeria.

Also partnership with banks, insurance companies to bank finanance the aquisition of these models an insure them will make individuals risk the ownership and grow the market.
You've nailed it with the bolded!

collynzov5: That is a dangerous route to follow.
Cars are not biscuits that can be manufactured overnight.
There is absolutely bo sense in spending money in glamorious adverts when you are yet to meet the current demands.
Well, if he advertises bullishly, and is able to meet demand, it is win! In any cars can be 'manufactured overnight' if right facilities are in place.

Although individual times for each production process vary depending on the factory and type of vehicle, on one line at the Takaoka Plant, welding takes about two hours and painting about 11 hours, with assembly and inspections taking about six and a half hours.
-
google search result for "how long does it take to manufacture a car"

2 + 11+ 6.5 = 19.5 hrs

That's pretty much overnight for me.
