Great news. I hope they hold tight to this one. Grill him, drill him, get all the useful information from him, and then reward him with a bullet to the skull. The only good terrorist is a dead one! |
Nyako’s security aides were withdrawn at about 1pm shortly after his impeachment. This bit sound nonsensical to me. Why didn't they effect his arrest with the withdrawn security aides? Are they not members of security force any longer? While withdraw those who could have easily arrested him, only to send another batch of security agents? Seems to me they wanted him on the run for maximum stunt! |
Myopic suggestion by Tambuwal if you asked me. If you negociate with the murderous group, and secure the release of the girls. What stop them from kidnapping another set of girls tomorrow? Will you negotiate again? |
Gboliwe: Where is the funds to service this coming from? So, the Kano state government sponsors a group and the emir sponsors another? Nnaaaaaa, na wa!Good question. I really like to know what they produce in the Emir's palace that warranted tripling of salaries and these other substantial benefits! In the absence of this, something tells me money laundry is at work here. Looted funds is being systematically reintroduced into the system, in a way only a top banker can conceive! Shame!! |
This aregeberascal guy is too cheap. First there was a If the Ekiti election was won through stomach infrastructure, what do we call this recharge card for vote? Na wa oo supporter of APC politics is just to damn sophisticated ! ![]() |
Good riddance! |
vedd: The "butchering of citizens" with impunity that you rightly pointed out is as a result of the politicisation of the security agencies and presidential pardons due to political affiliations.Recent events, you say? How about the past events that set the dangerous precedence? Are the butchering in the 50's, 60's not as important as the ones happening now? Precedence, friend, precedence, that's the cause of recent impunity! |
tchidi: Noooo!!! Leave our madcow1 for us....lol, We'll keep that one. At last he has entertainment value. ![]() |
vedd: I condemned that incident when it happened and hoped the perpetrators face the maximum consequences for their savage crimes, but we have a govt that does nothing after series of investigations. How about the butchering of innocent people in Nigeria before this government, and before the government, before the government ... I can go on and on, and the period where butchering of citizens at the whims and caprices of fellow citizens with impunity will keep changing. That is at the heart of the matter. This butchering with impunity is what is making Nigeria ungovernable! |
But they will accept such impunity and rascality if it is coming from APC? ![]() |
@Op, Just wondering why the writer choose to colour this bigoted essay with a generous dose of Igbos and Ojukwu? When will you cone-heads learn to keep Igbos out of your miseries and pettiness? How about Obasanjo, who masterminded the PDP takeover of the whole of Yorubaland bar Lagos? Was he Igbo too? The same Obasanjo denied Lagos of funds and wage relentless political strife against Asi-waju, the then Governor of Lagos. Why wasn't he not brought into the discourse, and appropriate blame apportioned to him for his role in the current state of Yoruba political fortune? And while the blame game continue, have you coneheads, ever sat and imagine what trajectory the politics of Nigeria would have taken if the much maligned GEJ/PDP had succeeded in making a Yoruba the speaker of House of Representatives? Was it not the same Asi-waju, this writer sought to praise, that fired the first salvo in Yoruba political decimation when he conspired to sell the Yoruba to his Northern ally, to selfishly cement his place as the Asin-waju of whatever in Yoruba politics? Before this writer, and indeed, any Yoruba begin to blame GEJ, PDP, Ojukwu, Igbos, etc for their political ill-fortune, they should ensure the Asiwaju of such blames is placed at the foot of the Asi-waju of Bourdillion. Keep Igbos off your miseries and rants, we have our own peculiar challenges to deal with. |
Anger Abdullali, how about we start now! Take your desert, your mad cows, and blood thirsty herdsmen and depart! We will not miss you, not even one bit! |
vedd: It started with using presidential might to force Gov Rotimi Amaechi out of office with 5 lawmakers amongst a house of 31 members. How about starting with the butchering of our innocent, dynamic, and hardworking Youth Corpers, whose major offense was serving their country during and election. But we know it didn't start there, nor did it start with the disdain and hatred for the son of a fisherman, whose crime was trekking to school without shoes. |
Asiwaju of what? Of looted Lagos funds? ![]() |
jmaine: Cleverless Dunce, why are emmiting rare strain of stupidity tonite ?Classic! ![]() |
@op, Impeachment is a formal process in which an official is accused of unlawful activity, the outcome of which, depending on the country, may include the removal of that offiial from office as well as criminal or civil punishment. - WikipediaImpeach him on what charge? |
Clueless in action! I fitn't laff!! Continue calling him clueless. |
sandijey: Is it possible to arrest 7000 northerners wiv out people knowing. It is not a matter of living in denial. It is a matter of logic. How is it possible. In a city of 12 million people, what is systematic arrest of paltry 7,000 migrant abokis? Who will even know they are missing, unless the very informed? I wont be surprised if they turn up in one of Fashola's numerous detention camps! |
I wonder when our journalist will ever use terminologies properly. It's this same country that detonate is generously used when the correct word should be defused in case of deactivated bombs. [s]The other day Punch even used the word 'impoverished explosive device' [/s] ![]() Now to today's matter: Impeachment is a formal process in which an official is accused of unlawful activity, the outcome of which, depending on the country, may include the removal of that official from office as well as criminal or civil punishment. - Wikipedia For example Bill Clinton was impeached, but he was acquitted of all charges. Nyarko has already been impeached. We are only waiting for the outcome of the impeachment!! |
C0llynzO2: No chance of the hypocrites saying anything man.I believe such hypocrisy can only be a product of years of cowering in cowardice! Too bad |
I also like to listen to Yorubas condemn this massive arrest as ethnic profiling of Northerners the same way they branded the arrest conducted by the security agencies in Abia. I want to see their vociferous condemnation of their leaders for this barbaric arrest of innocent Northerners who happen to reside in Yorubad land! |
EmeeNaka: Imo state govt wanted to register Northerners and not every residents of Imo state. Registration of residents is one good way to dealing with this BH terrorism.I understand the need for identification. Nevertheless, I believe strongly that the best form of identification is a plural society like Nigeria is the national one. If every state begin to issue identification card, the confusion is better imagine. Both Lagos and Imo States should find other ways to identify and isolate mischief makers, and terrorists! |
Controversy: It is a welcome development that Arewa leaders in Lagos have risen in condemnation of BH.The war against terror is everybody’s business and should be tackled headlong. But then something puzzles me.Why did the Arewa condemn residents’ registration in Imọ only to embrace the same policy in Lagos? Is it the case of IGBOPHOBIA?Not sure if the Imo State proposed registration of none indigene was real or ruse, but good point nonetheless. If Lagos goes ahead with the registration, so should Imo State, and other states that so desire. What is sauce for goose is sauce for gander! Good point fair lady. |
Arewa will not tolerate terrorism in Lagos State, that's good news. But does that mean they will tolerate it in other part of the country? |
dgitrader: the north got it wrong right from the inception by going in to scuttle any fundermental structural changes, while their sw, se, and ss counterparts were well intended and prepared for changes. the north brought nothing to the table, rather came on the full defensive. its pathetic.(Un)fortunately that's the case. When a team (Core North) set out mainly to defend, while another (South) prepare for both attack and defence, the one that set out to attack may eventually score a goal or two. Being being perpetually on the defensible in this national conference, the Core North will definitely lose a lot of grounds, and that's what's happened! Chinks in their amours have been brutally exposed, Nigeria will never be the same again! |
Someone apparently retrieved the line. |
ImperialYoruba: if petrol tanker was a blueprint of bokoharam plot we should have seen it happened by now in NorthEast. Not only that, has bokoharam ever shied away from claiming ownership of an assault? Never!Congratulation then, since you know all the current and future blue print of mass murderers - boko haram. I wont be surprised if you are a recruit; I won't be surprised if Boko Haram use inside man (folks like you) to do inside jobs. If your votes can be bought with a bowl of rice, how much are you coneheads worth these days. I truly fear for South West? In the meantime, keep shouting Igbos, rather than pay attention to the gathering storm! |
One other thing I learnt from Boko Haram story is the need to stay on the right side of Karma - she is a bitch and will come back to bite you! When the killings started in the North, many of their leaders didn't deem it fit to call their children (the perpetrator) to order. The fact that they were barely affected in the bloodshed makes it kind of 'cool' for them. Those who were arrested by security agents (even folks like Sanusi if the story is true) were simply given a slap on the wrist. To them killing 'infidels' was fair way of expressing their grievance. The 'infidel' bore it patiently, while also becoming amorphous. Now, having tasted blood, to the admiration of their leaders, it has become their way of live, they can barely live without a taste of blood. Unfortunately, their leaders now lack the moral justification to call them to order, having urged them on and protected them in the past. The bitch karma is descend for her blood! Things fall apart! Now as it with brute violence, so will it be with 'brain' violence! Karma is a bitch and she will come to bite you - sooner or later. I only urge Igbos to stay on the path of justice, fair-play; and continue to be their brothers' keepers, even if they have to be 'silly'! |
Francis5: PointB, do I really need anyone's sympathy on this issue? That being said, have you read the write-up and if so, what is your opinion regarding its content?Let me take a bite with this parable, especially since you have slightly modified the topic. Francis5 was driving to work in his car. Apparently he was in a hurry to get to his destination, as evident by his continuous overtaking and changing of lanes. Pissed at the way Francis5 was driving, GPA5 decided to frustrate him. GPA5 decided that the best way to do that was to slow down in front of Francis, and generally find other way to frustrate Francis from speeding and overtaking. Fortunately, Francis5 was either oblivious of GPA5 scheming, or was working out countermeasures. But one certain in the episode was Francis' determination to move ahead without let or hindrance to his destination. While, GPA5 was using his "brain" to frustrate Francis5, little did he realize that by slowing down and trying to frustrate Francis5, he had left plenty of loopholes in the road for Francis5 to exploit. In no time, Francis5 was ahead of GPA5, who belatedly started racing ahead to catch-up! Moral of the story: Be as amorphous as Francis5, pay more attention to your destination, and those who try to stop will only be wasting their time. Some of those 'silly' Igbos are simply behaving like Francis5 - Singleness of purpose! NB: The traffic story is true-life, names have only been changed to protect the innocent! |
@op, Starting a topic by asking if your kinsmen are 'silly' isn't going to win you a lot of sympathy. I suggest you find a better way to invite your kinsmen to a feast! |
