Let's keep them rolling. Even thought it not stated in the rule I would rather the members of Election Tribunal not nominate. We don't want conflict of interest.

Keep the nominations coming.

Thank you Afam for re-affirming your position as member of the Election Tribunal. Thank you even more for answering the call to determine how to proceed on the re-election qualification of Eze OnlyTruth.

My sixth sense tells me that 9ja_I_hail the, third member of the Tribunal will agree with you and Ujchief that Eze OnlyTruth should not be subjected to nomination process. In any case we have a majority decision of 2 out of 3 at the moment, which suffices. Eze Onlytruth will therefore be polled without further need for nominations, as decided by the Election Tribunal.

I shall in due course unveil the nomination guidelines.

Again thank you Afam.

Musiwa,
Tinubu does not have popular name, in fact I am sure you can see from the satellite picture that he stole his name from someone.

Musiwa,
You are the most famous Nigerian, the only Nigerian who has seen the satellite pictures. The man who will rescue Western Niger from Nigeria. Indeed you are more famous than Tinubu. But I think Mimiko is more famous than you, no?

Thank you all for your comment and show of support.

Thank you Ujchief for accepting the role and also for stating your position on the issue raise concerning the Eze re-election modality.

We await Afam and 9ja_I_hail to state their position on the issue as to enable us reach a decision. We are still open for any inspired FBI -Full Blooded Igboman (to borrow Boicc acronym) to compliment Eze OnlyTruth speech on 'Why Igbo need online leadership'. The Eze's speech powerfully articulate the need for Igbos to drop victim mentality while at the same time 'shinning their eyes.' There are various learning points for every FBI to pick from.

Again thank you Ujchief,
Afam, 9ja_I_hail, the people await you.

PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Online Election 2012 - Nomination in progress by PointB(op): 2:51am On Oct 17, 2012
Wow, that's some food for thought interspersed in the the tenure report powerfully delivered by Eze OnlyTruth.

Umu Igbo, the ball is in our court. I believed his report indeed encroached and decisively dealt with the second stage of this process:
- Eze Ndi Igbo Online Leadership: The need for leadership - By any Inspired Igboman.

To this end, any Igboman/woman still inspired to give another rousing commentary on need of Igbo Online Leadership is welcome to do so. In the absence of such, Eze OnlyTruth submission above, amply qualifies.

It is necessary to at this point clarify the point raised by Eze OnlyTruth on tenure and term of the Eze. Indeed the term is for a year and the tenure ends Dec 31st, 2012. Nevertheless, the rule currently allows for limitless re-election of the serving Eze. In other words, Eze OnlyTruth qualifies and can stand for re-election, alongside any other individuals, baring those playing any role in the election itself. I will however leave the Electoral Tribunal to decide if by qualifying for re-election, the Eze can be exempted from passing through nomination process. Personally, I would prefer the Eze to pass through the Nomination Process, for re-affirmation of the people confidence.

However, to fast track this clarification, I shall pend the nomination guideline, unveil the members of the Electoral Tribunal, and urge them to clarify this for us the move forward.

deor03: I am not Igbo, But if i was in Ojukwu's shoes in 1967. I will do almost thesame, maybe with a slightly different approach.

Do you know the number of Igbo that were massacred from July 1966 till the declaration of the WAR?

Nigerians need to read wide and understand the mood in the country in 1966. That year , was a year with BLOOD written over it.

Ojukwu as the most senior officer then ( mind you senior to Gowon) , he had to protect his own.

As bad as things were Ojukwu could not come to Lagos for Federal Executive meetings( That was why Aburi in Ghana became meeting points )

Ofcourse, Zik was abroad and not under any threat.
Good talk! Every sensible leader will act to protect his people and defend them. That's exactly what Ojukwu did.

Ndu_chucks, there is your answer,
By the way, OnlyTruth would also frown at any manipulation geared at returning him unopposed. If Onlytruth is to returned unopposed, then I expect him to be the only person nominated by the process. That will be a very clear indication of the people's choice. In any case no one is afraid of Onlytruth returning to his post, there is absolutely no basis for that. Besides, the rule is that the Eze leads for one year and can renew his mandate as often as he could by re-election. I only need to worry if qualifying from re-election implies not going through the formal nomination process.

Actually, it is idiotic to suggest Things Fall Apart be banned, very moronic proposition. Seems that someone is thinking and talking with his downside. Let the keep the publicity coming by the way. I think both books will sell over 20 million copies in no time. I mean both proponent and opponent will now need to study it for informed comment. Interesting Achebe certainly didn't write for personal aggrandisement, he wrote to lend a hand to the truth as admitted by Awo viz Awo was instrumental to a policy of targeting innocent women and children with starvation, just to get at a handful of fighting men. Very sadist, and shameful.

Femi Robinson has invariably asked Nigerians to buy another copy of Thing Fall Apart for comparison with 'There was a country.' PoliticsEze Ndi Igbo Online Election 2012 - Nomination in progress by PointB(op):
Umunna n'Umunne
Friends and allies of Ndi Igbo

I greet you all.

Last year, we embarked upon a very unusual but critical journey by choosing one of us to 'lead' online (especially on Nairaland). In that historic election, Eze OnlyTruth was emphatically elected for a single year tenure.

Those who missed the epochal event or simply like to revisit it, should refer to the two threads below:
https://www.nairaland.com/816238/eze-ndi-igbo-nairaland
https://www.nairaland.com/819196/eze-ndi-igbo-nairaland-election

As we approach the end of another year, it has fallen upon us to choose another of us, or re-elect Eze OnlyTruth to continue the onerous task of unification of Igbo across different ideologies and worldview for the good of the land. It is also incumbent upon me to once again take the lead in this exercise. For the duration of this exercise, I shall assume the title and mantle of Electoral Officer.

The qualities expected of the Eze we need has not changed remarkable from last year. I will consequently lift those qualities from the one we identified last time.

Qualities and responsibilities expected Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland

The Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland is expected to be one who:

1 understands and listens to Ndi Igbo
2 enlightens Ndi Igbo
3 guides, but does not dictate to, Ndi Igbo
4 enables and empowers Ndi Igbo
5 motivate Ndi Igbo
6 inspires Ndi Igbo
7 credits Ndi Igbo
8 helps Ndi Igbo
9 leads Ndi Igbo by example.
10 serves Ndi Igbo

The above qualities served us well last time, and it should serve us again. The electoral process is not expected to last more than three week. To make the process easy to follow, we shall use the guideline below:

EZE NDI IGBO ONLINE ELECTION 2012 GUIDELINE:

1. Report of previous year premiership - By Eze OnlyTruth

2. Eze Ndi Igbo Online Leader ship: The need for leadership - Any inspired Igboman

3. Unvieling the Nomination Guideline - PointB

4. Announcing the Electoral Tribunal - PointB

5. Nominations Collators- PointB

6. Manifesto and Elections- PointB

7. Announcement of winner - PointB

8. Hand-Over Ceremony (on Culture Section, by someone regular in the section) - Open

The above will serve as a guide for this process. Time limit will not be imposed at this stage. One event shall lead to the next. Any one interested in helping out as Nomination Collator or be a part of the Election Tribunal (a three man team) should indicate interest.

WARNING:

It is needless to say that haters, bad belly people and fifth columnists will do whatever they can to derail this thread, I urge every Igboman and ally to exercise maximum restraint on this thread to enable the process go peacefully. We must be not pander to their whims, at least not on this thread!

APPEAL:
I urge the Mods to use their discretion in aiding this process, especially in publicity and keeping predators and troublemakers at bay. We hope that ultimately these elections will be beneficial to all concerned.

Umunna, Umu Igbo
This process kick starts as soon as we have devoured the report of our Premier Eze - Eze OnlyTruth.

CyberG: And how will SE have a chance if they alienate and burn all the bridges to the same people who are supposed to help elect a president of the SE? How will any Nigerians elect a people who are only hell bent on division, secession, break-ups, etc? Who will trust Nigeria with ibos who are tribalists and destroyed Nigeria's regionalism when they fell out with their superiors, the Hausas and Yorubas? This is why no one trusts iboz again. But iboz are not even trying to unite and gain the trust of other Nigerians and there you have it.
Lol,

Yorubas are number one tribalists. Your forebear (Awo) killed over 2 million people to illustrate that. As for Presidency, Igbo stands better chance of getting it than Yorubas. But off course, because you are mentally incapable of deciphering that, that is why you wallow in ignorance. Nigerians accept Igbos for our forthrightness and sincerity. But if a Yoruba greet you good afternoon, you have to look-up to confirm the sun is shinning. When 2015 come, we will put all these postulation into test. Until them, keep wallowing in your ignorance and hatred. Very pathetic!
