ba7man: This set of people still holding grudges against a civil-war that occured over 40yrs ago should pls move on and not let their hatred for each other to transcend generations. I don't care who ordered what....they are dead and it wasn't me that was offended neither is it their children around me that carried out these atrocities.
You don't care. Others do, and deserves the right to be heard. So you bave the choice to ignore threads like this. No one is going to forget the death on over 2 million people simple because folks like you don't care!
PoliticsRe: Why Do People Hate Bola Tinubu? by PointB:
Let me state a few people who hate Tinubu.
1. HID Awololo
2. Pastor Tunde Bakare
3. Late Gani Fawehinm
4. Nuhu Ribadu

I know there are more. Perhaps others will add to the list. They don't like him for various reasons;

Gani believe Tinubu is a certificate forger and pursued this until his death. Pastor Tunde Bakare claimed that Tinubu is a bastard and an usurper who is trying to steal the Yoruba leadership. Nuhu Ribadu confirmed that Tinubu's criminality is of international proportion.

As for the ordinary man on the street, Tinubu is a big fraud, and clog in the will of progress. A thief in corridor of power. Some call him Emperor Tinubu, but majority call him Tinubu.

PoliticsRe: Civil War: We’ve No Cause To Regret What We Did – Gowon by PointB: 2:23pm On Oct 15, 2012
dBard: I don't see y ppl wnt let sleeping dogs lie in peace. there's no excuse f genocide, but war is not s game of soccer,it isn't n has never bin fair n u try t win as best as u can.not justifying nothin tho. this controversy ,like d war, is ill timed esp not now deyr advocating f an Igbo presidency. it really won't help d chances of dat happening..
Igbos are not desperate for the presidency to such extent that we cannot speak the truth or express our grouse. If Nigeria presidency belongs to liars, hypocrites and cold bloody murderers, we want no part in it.

There should be no time set aside for confronting the truth! Achebe's Memoir is perfectly timed.

@topic
I hope Gowon have no regret to what his one Nigeria has turned his homeland. I hope he has no regret with the tit for tat butchery of innocent people between Berom and fulani. He stood aside when soldiers and civilians commit mass murders against Igbos, today he hides in some far corner of the world as similar thing goes on in his backyard. Nigeria will go up in a puff sooner or later. But this time Igbos will not fire any shot to save any region that descends into chaos!

NE are tearing themselves apart, NW is bracing for its turn. Gowon has no regret!
PoliticsRe: Biafra Drags Nigeria To Court by PointB: 2:01pm On Oct 15, 2012
If CyberG represent the average Yoruba man, I won't blame them. Their whole survival strategy in hinged on access to a generous dose of Niger Delta oil and Igboman enterprise in their backyard. A situation that will rapidly change once any region from the South successfully pull out of the union. I can feel their palpitation, but we (Igbos) and cultural/religiously similar group must work towards pulling out of this unworkable union or restructure it for efficiency. Fact is that a big change must happen!
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is "Worst Performer" Among Major African Countries In Ibrahim's Index by PointB: 1:45pm On Oct 15, 2012
The way I understand this index is that Country A might drop in rank not because it performed poor relative to the last ranking but because Country B and C performed much more better than A.

Put in this way.
If Country A score 3 previous year and was rank higher than country B which score 2 and C which score 1.

Assume Country A score 4 this year an improvement of 1 point over last year, Country B and C will overtake country A if the score 4 and 5 and 6 respectively. The improvement of country A obviously become insignificant if one merely read the rankings.

More details is therefore require as to why Nigeria slipped.
PoliticsRe: Review North-East Budget Or Face Insurgency - Ex-Yobe Governor To GEJ by PointB: 1:20pm On Oct 15, 2012
I think the FG has shown it's readiness to handle whatever the BH insurgent group can throw at them. So perhaps Buka and his boys should continue the war path 'insha allah' rather than use what is allocated to directly impact their population who strongly desire peace.

If any region deserves great attention, it the the neglected Niger Delta area and the grossly marginalised SE Zone. The Niger Delta deserves a new city in the mould of Abuja or even better judging from the fact that the produce the golden egg. The dilapidated infrastructure and lack of Federal presence the SE need to be seriously redressed for better national integration and cohesion. I therefore suggest that any tinkering of the budget that must be done should deliberately target infrastructural and development gaps in the SS and SE where incidentally the national wealth is derived!
PoliticsRe: Biafra Drags Nigeria To Court by PointB: 10:36am On Oct 15, 2012
Not sure where to start biting the Bilie proposal from. Perhaps I should start by commending their foresight and forthrightness in compiling the grouse of the Igboman into a document for the court to decide on. Indeed most of the issues raised by them will be of immense benifit to all concerned - including those who choose to sink with Nigeria.

My main concerned though is that pushing everything to the Nigerian judicial system known for various sort of corruption, ethnicism and nepotism will not bring forth a fair conclusion.

What Bilie need to do is to break down the tasks into multy prong, and prosecute it from different courts as suggested by some posters here. Some of the items can be decided by the Nigeria court, some by the ICJ and indeed some should be sent to the criminal court in Hague.

I dont know about the resources at the disposal of Bilie, but reaching serious agreement with Igbos in the SS and in the NC is also critical in respresenting at the various stages of the process. Serious awareness need to be done here and relying on the very bias press especially those controlled by those who dont ally with their cause may not suffice. I have no doubt that alot of Igbos in the SE/SS are tired of our cursed country - Nigeria, and would like to leave at the shortest notice. They are the one that should be targeted during the referendum in a massive publicity campaign. Igbos outside the old Eastern region should start preparing for the probable desolution of the entity - Nigeria. Igbos can live with or without our brothers and cousins in the South South if they choose to pitch their camp with Nigeria. If Nigeria has become a slave camp for mindless tribalists, it's time those with sense of honour got out. This time through the court and ballot paper as against cannons and bulltets.

I endorse this Bilie move despite the fact that it will affect me in many ways. For the future of our unborns, Igbos and men of honour from the old eastern region, let us give our today! Nigeria is a sinking ship, it's time to bale out. Better we part peacefully as friends than blow it up in pieces. Good Evening Nigeria!

Awoists can rant and rave from now till enternity in their bid to defend their genocidal mentor, the fact remain that Awo knew what he was saying when he stated: 'All is fair in war! And starvation is a weapon of war' Obafemi Awolowo indeed know what he was doing by stopping the transfer of food to the Biafran enclave insisting the the civilain will suffer less than soldiers. Awo had confessed to his crimes before his death, and his master Gowon has stated he has no regrets for what they did, so why are many clowns wasting so much bandwith defending these two criminals and mass murderers?

PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by PointB: 7:04pm On Oct 12, 2012
Sadly, the Mod (Jarus) has turn his noble idea into an opportunity to (in his mind) cut PointB to size. Rather than address simple objection on why a questionable character (coogar) was chosen ahead of more mature people, the MOD felt the best way to deal with the situation was to flex his muscle, and exercise his power in one on the most arrogant and tasteless display of power. What a shame! Whatever he gleefully banned me for, was obviously a figment of his imagination, as I have no idea.

I'll leave him and his debate. But not without insisting that choosing the foul-mouthed, well known anti-establishment bigoted - Coogar ahead of more mature edo_girl, HNOsegbe, Northsharp et al who got more favorable endorsements from majority indicate foul play. Jarus, has shown he is incapable of rising beyond his prejudice, and like his mentor Sanusi - the same stubbornness and unnecessary entrenchment of position. Whether he has ultimately ruin his noble idea by forcing his favorite down the throat of neutrals is yet to be seen. But impartial observer will still like to know how coogar got the nod ahead of various others on the larger list!

But I will not be participating further in this process, in the interest of peace!

Happy debating all of you!
PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by PointB: 12:01pm On Oct 12, 2012
@Jarus,
You claim that majority agreed that folks like Coogar were agreed by the majority. That sir, is a BIG LIE.

Most who nominated coogar wrote - not sure of him, or simply ok. There were others categorically marked as great choice by the majority. How did some immature and very vile creature, with foul tongue like coogar made it to your list, while more mature and sensible posters were ignored? At least those folks deserves some explanation. Did you deliberately pick coogar ahead of better candidates for malicious and selfish reasons or you picked him for other reason.

The original list is listed below.

1, PointB
2, Eziachi
3, Max siollun
4, Pukkah -
5, e-Geurilla -
6, Ajanlekoko -
7, Paddy Lo -
8, Northsap -
9, Ufeolohun -
10, Kilode -
11, Rossik -
12,Sagamite -
13, Mikeansy -
14, Akanbi Edu -
15, Haka nai -
16, HNOsegbe -
17, Ballabriggs -
18, Jason123 -
19,Edo girl -
20, Sisi-skills -
21, Coogar -
22, Jomogbomo -
23, Kobojunkie -
24, Ogugua88 -
25, Odunnu -

Despite her her tendency for boring repetitiveness, is Kobojunkie not more mature than Coogar? What is the rationale for choosing coogar who had lover votes than say Edo_girl, HNOsegbe, and Northsharp ?

#drop coogar!

Jarus: From this point, any comment that contains hate/hard words will be hidden and the poster banned for 5 hours. You can protest or defend yourself without using strong words.

Pls.
Well, I know you intend to silence opposition to your attempt to rig the debate.

You are yet to justify why forumers of coogar ilk are allowed in the panel, while much more moderate people are dropped. Rather than address the issue, you are threatening people with ban. Is coogar your inside man?
PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by PointB: 11:38am On Oct 12, 2012
Jarus: No, we are not saying they are neutral. We (and majority other forumers agree) see them as 1, not having extreme opinion 2, capable of dropping their sentiments. Even as a coordinator, I have my personal views. Even Seun, the forum owner, has his sentiments. But it is easy for us to drop them.
And who are these majority? Or are now into making claims that cannot be substantiated. You noted you wanted judges acceptable to all. Now it is has been established that Coogar was an over-sight.

Rather than drop him, you are now saying that is doesn't matter whether judges are neutral or not. Why use such duality to ruin a process, rather than saving the process by dropping one man who integrity, neutrality, and maturity is called to question. Why is so difficult for u to play by your own rules. Do you have special interest in coogar?
PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by PointB: 11:22am On Oct 12, 2012
@Jarus
In what way is Coogar different from DayoOponu, Eko-Ile, and Demdem?

Perhaps you owe us explanation as per why you picked him ahead of the other guys. I need no provide any further evidence, as it appears your mind is made up - to torpedo your own process. Or you think neutrals will applaud you for having such questionable character on your panel. Get real, oga!
PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by PointB: 11:16am On Oct 12, 2012
Jarus: grin

You need credible, independent seconders before we can at least revisit the choice. In addition, the fact that he criticized GEJ is not a ground for disqualification. Bring better arguments.
So the fact that he is calling everybody including myself and Afam all sort of name is not enough. And the fact that others have joined in asking that he be dropped does apply? Same people who nominated a few on judges on your list. What evidence did you use to drop those on the initial list?

Judge Coogar - caught in the dangerous act of ethnic baiting...

coogar: the victims of the christmas day bombing are mostly igbos.
i cannot believe the igbos have not lifted a finger since the incident. what are the igbo youths doing to defend the igbo nation?
what happened to bakassi boys and their ilk?

Replace him with ifeci or berem. Coogaq, can participate in the actual debate, together with gbawe and co.
Yet another voice confirming the unsuitable of the thug - Coogar.

Replace it with Ifeci, Berem, Isale_eko (any of them will do just fine)

jmaine: Always knew the thread will boil cos of the texture of the Judges list cheesy . . . . Most can be seen to be strictly Anti Government first before objectivity is imported. But i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt to do a fair job at least . . .

In order to clear all doubt . . . .I hereby suggest that during the debating process . . .All the judges score card should be fully on display on the board to enable spectators guage their ratings for fairness and competence

This should act as a double check for scores collation and overall calculation of averages
. . .

The seeming texture of the Judges means no known supporter of the Admin might never win any debate, regardless of contents dished out with an already prejudiced judge siting boldly in the arena grin
Well, we can start by getting rid of the obviously very bad eggs like Coogar, then we can put the rest on the microscope.

Jarus: So you think all the over 100 million Nigerians that were against fuel subsidy are doing so because of their political leaning or facts before them?

My mentor, SLS, was a leading voice for fuel subsidy removal while I protested against it. This is someone I am on first name term with. That is rising above affiliation. Yet, when his house was touched in Kano by subsidy protesters, I was one of the first people that sent 'sorry' message to him. All these agreements and disagreements that shape our political value are based on facts avaialable to everyone and our interpretation. It is very unfortunate that because someone opposed fuel subsidy, then he is anti-GEJ. You now go ahead and bring a quote that is critical of establishment from the judges. In fact, that should qualify them more. It is puppetry and inability to whold their own to endorse everything the government does without scrutiny. And none of these guys are known as a rabid GEJ hater, spamming the forum with anti-GEJ posts. They chipped in their comments where necessary.

In any case, this debate is about Nigeria, not about GEJ or any political personality!
No, I don't think so. But I thought you wanted fairness, and balance in the judges. In other words, those whose political-economy leaning cannot be pinpointed. In the case of the fuel subsidy, those who oppose it probably have a thing or two against the establishment, while those who supported it are most likely supporter of the regime. The fact that is is debatable cast doubt on the neutrality of the judges.

Now how about Coogar?
Without doubt Coogar has no place on that list. Even if you make exception for the others, Coogar should be dropped without further preponderance. I also think Talina has no place in the list. Being foreigner is not enough, we are yet to see the international flavour she adds to the dynamics. Her posting are restricted to the Romance Section, and that say alot about her.

I formally drop my objection to Ogugua and Sisi_kill membership of the panel. But for Coogar, well you may have to ban me for disturbance, if you don't drop him!
