ndu_chucks: Eze NL Gburugburu, Onlytruth, put a stop to this mess. As the Eze, you should be able to overrule anyone whose actions is blatantly unhelpful to NL Igbos. Allow Okija to contest and let him lose gracefully and if he wins, he'll be the choice of the people. The ugly situation is clearly a figment of your imagination. Okija_juju is in breach of the rules, he failed to appeal. There are many leading Igbos who satisfy the rule, why must we make exception for those who fail? Guy, stop shouting your voice hoarse, no one is moved by you false sense of concern. We remain strong and resolute. We must see the process through. In my opinion, Eze OnlyTruth or whoever succeed him can call for a review of the process. But as for now, we have election to run, and agent of confusion are advised to stand aside. Their opinion are as irrelevant as their presence. |
Okija_juju: Simple..OnlyTruth is a candidate in this election. If you wish to appeal to the Eze Ndi Igbo council, I am sure you can find his email address. The the illusion that an unbiased electoral officer like myself can be removed from his position, is akin to a dog wishing for a taste of lion's liver. Okija_juju, prepare very well for next election. Let me give you a tip - file a complaint at the the Parliamentary thread, asking for a review of the Electoral Rule. Perhaps that could help. But at the moment, the rules are what the are. That you were found wanting of very simple requirement is unfortunate. Again, better luck (read preparation) next year. You are disqualified, simple, and easy! |
Odunnu: Been waiting for one dude Chucky234 who is making some dubious moves, seems like i'll wait all nite.Good nite my dearest Odunnu, a woman of substance. Sleep tight! |
Further announcement, The election is billed to start as soon we have another candidate accepting his nomination or at the expiration of the extended nomination deadline, whichever comes first. If at the expiration of the deadline, and no other candidate step forward, the election will be held between the incumbent and challenger - may the best man win. Volunteers to organise the cultural section handover are still sought. We are moving full steam ahead. |
MOD kindly clean up this thread. Too many swear and vulgar words flying around. https://www.nairaland.com/1075822/eze-ndi-igbo-online-election/35#12661941 |
Ada Nri1: Biko nu, I've been following this thread even though i initially didn't want to comment, however we all know that onu umuada is not ignored. I would like to appeal to . Okija_juju and the electoral body to find a way to resolve this issue as soon as possible to avoid any negative outcome. lota kwanu na igbo nwe ilo. infact, ilo erika and they are ready to gloat at our discord. please pointB and Okija should reach a compromise sooner than later.Okija_juju is advised to prepare for the next election. Pay no heed to his rambling. There is nothing to worry about in noisy losers! |
Umu Igbo, Kindly exercise maximum restraint with the frustrated troll. Ignoring them seems to work best. Our election is going on as planned. Kindly turn your attention towards nominating our beautiful and intelligent women for the newly created but illustrious position of Eze Nwayi. Meanwhile, I would also like volunteers for the Cultural inauguration of the Eze and Eze Nwayi at the culture sections. Our presence must be roundly felt. Those who are versed in the fine art of Igbo culture , especially those connected to Ichi Eze (coronation) should please come our rescue. Our Eze Ndi Igbo election should be one big cultural celebration. Let's do it, together, in unity! |
Charles.nerd:lol, What do you expect of hired thugs, mostly of 'Rascals' ![]() |

abouzaid: @pointb, can u send a private message to our top nominees. It seem's many igbo veterans have stopped visiting nairaland cos of d moderators tribalistic lean. Very few of this old men can this for long.I don't think I can do that. Those who nominated them should do them the honour. It's look much better that way. |

PointB: Let's not forget we are also taking nomination for the Eze Nwayi position. |
ogugua88: I've nominated Odumchi.Your nomination of Odumchi is very much noted. It will reflect in the next update. |
PointB: Let's not forget we are also taking nomination for the Eze Nwayi position. |
ogugua88: I haven't done anything. I'm not holding a grudge. I'm pleading on Okija's case, not my own.You are pleading Okija case, by remembering my past sins against you, even though unlike PointB, you dont hold grudges. How interesting. Anyway, we have gone past Okija_juju issue. I will take all the insult, assault, and criticism, and indeed full responsibility after the election. If there is and inquest, trust I would be there to answer to the people. But as for this election, RULES ARE RULES. We can't bend them on the basis of emotion, and crocodile tears. That is not how principled people behave. Principled people don't flip-flop! They stand in what they believe in! Let's shed no more tears for the fallen, let's move forward - isn't that what you preach? |
Let's not forget we are also taking nomination for the Eze Nwayi position. The Eze Nwayi position is reserved for the female council member of the Eze Ndi Nairaland. While their roles and responsibility will further be discuss in the council, it is important we also nominate our choice female for the position. The current runners are: Female Nominees for Eze Nwayi/Lolo Position Ifyalways 2 Ogugua 2 Berem - 1 (Declined Nominations) Please let's nominate two guys for Eze Ndi Igbo, and a Female for Eze Nwayi. |
Imanuelle: I love and respect chief ojukwu, even to d grave! You haven't thrown the kitchen sink yet, how can you ask your such question of me? Does it look like I'm quaking? Is my 'voice' shaking? Am I freaking out? Am I not as cool as cucumber? Does my questions answer your request? |
ogugua88: Shout out to Ifyalways. I admire your courage on this thread.lol. And you have just done the same to me. How ironic! ![]() Anyway, I dropped it as quickly as I raised it, cos I was just been logical at that point in time. And the moment you explain, that was it for me. Fair? |
odumchi: Oha ndi Igbo ekele m unu niile ozo,The Electoral Commissioner, on behalf of the Electoral Team, and the generality of Ndi Igbo and their allies welcome the decision of Odumchi to accept his nomination. We hope he set example for other to step forward and pick the gauntlet. Again you are welcome. |
Let me remind us once more why we are at this stage. Nomination was extended to enable better coverage and time for us to identify and nominate those to stand against the incumbent - Eze OnlyTruth is a general election. On that basis, we are urging those nominated so far to step forward and accept their nomination. If they meet up with the guideline i.e poll enough nominations or default in case nominees will larger number fail to step-up, they will be polled. I urge that we use the time dutifully in indicating our nominees. The rules were set to guide us, if it is deemed that they are not sufficient, there will be time and opportunity for us to amend it. But that time is not now; we cannot change the rules in the middle of the game. This time is for nomination. I fervently urge that we Umu Igbo focus on the task at hand. May God guide and bless us all. |
Let me assure those who made valid nominations after the re-opening, that their nominations will be reflected in the next update. The nomination will close GMT 23.59 on Thursday, and further extension may not be granted. We are enjoined to nominate our favourite candidates before the time elapses. Thank you all for your maximun co-operation! |
orufe: THANK YOU OKIJA. Please wait for next year. This election is for Ndigbo. Your inclusion will mean that those who hate Ojukwu and enemies of Ndigbo will come in and vote.Thank you orufe for putting it succinctly, I believe Okija_juju will listen to you, call off his dogs, and go and start preparing for next year's election. |
coogar: you're a tool - the biggest unrepentant charlatan!I agree to all you have said about me. Is there anything more you wish to add? ![]() |
rafindo: i hereby move the motion that 9_i_hail step down as a member of the tribunal with the these reasons.1-conflict of interest.2-dependent mindset.3-bias,nepotism,favourtism with dede 1.Point b we appreciate ur effort but it is high u stepdown nd be a member of the tribunal. with an independent mindset like ndu chucks, dede 1, lord naya.Kindly remind me after the winner has been announced. |
coogar: i will single-handedly derail the process.....Just a brief response to you, coogar. I am veteran cyber campaigner. I cut my teeth online while you were still a suckling. I need not say more than this. |
Dede1: I had mixed feelings toward the recent turn of events with respect to electioneering process of Eze Ndigbo NL. Granted it is very innocuous exercise, it is very educative while uncovering the reasons Africans are a step behind the curve. It is very unfortunate to read that already closed nomination has been reopened. Rules, when adopted by a group of people, shall be followed to dot and respected even when such rule does not favor an individual.Your opinion is highly respected. But I must confess, your ill-timed decision to lead the charge from the trenches is partly responsible for the extension of the nomination time. We must necessarily find capable replacement for the very critical rearguard, when men of war decides that the vanguard is their preferred corner. Nevertheless, the nomination rules has not been tampered with so far, as no specific time frame was given in the rules for nomination. Rather, it was stated that the completion of one event will necessary lead to the next. In anycase, once the top contenders (including you) accept their nomination. It will be needless to continue with the nominations. As for Okija_juju, his duplicity is obvious. I won't be surprised if and when he comes back next year to shed another crocodile's tears. Perhaps we may finally have our own Buhari in him, at this rate! |
I like to thank all dissenting voices for helping strengthen democracy and rule of laws. It is indeed truism that no law is perfect, even though laws are meant to achieve specific purpose. Our Eze Ndi Igbo electoral laws aim to identify Igbos who are proud sons of the soil, who are true to other Igbo states, and don't go about mocking, or denigrating people of our sister states. We are very proud of what we have achieved so far with this rules. All, especially none Igbos, who are critical of the process are advised to expend their energy in other fruitful venture. The electoral team noticed the attempt to derail the process. But, of course, we know they have failed even before they started. No amount of vituperation, castigation, aspersion, or even crocodile tears will sway the electoral team from completing the task at hand. Again, for the avoidance of doubt, and for the sake of emphasis, Okija_juju is disqualified, and he stands disqualified. He is advised to spend his time building bridges among brothers, rather that leading a group of brigands to disrupt a process endorsed by the generality of his brothers. Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland, is not, and will not be for divisive characters. I am very optimistic that this electoral rules is in the best interest of Ndi Igbo of the current dispensation. And it will serve us well in future. Okija_juju, and all who wish to toe his line, should know there is consequences, when you mock people from sister states, or exposed them to ridicules. We call on proud Igbos, who are their brother's keepers, and passionate about Alaigbo to nominate capable to contest the position of Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland. Please send in you nominations. |
We are still accepting nominations. Let not the troll worry you. We have made alot of progress so far. And the election is assuredly one of the most organized e-election anywhere in Africa. |
one.east:There is no point nominating Chino, I doubt he will scale the rule. Okija_juje is already disqualified. Kindly pick any other two nominees. |
Imanuelle: Assist doesn't say u should disqualify anybody.I disqualified him, based on the rules. And he refused to appeal. |
