napoleon77: So we should stop killing bush meat and the Japanese should stop killing whales for food? It seems you did not get the point. I really don't know what you mean by bush meat.? If you mean grasscutters, guinea fowl, rabbits etc, they are animals that can be reared and are in fact are in large numbers compared to the likes of Hippo's. Check your facts well, there is an international treaty on hunting of whales.(So the numbers and type the japanse hunt are actually limited). |

Samanza89: Our bill for February was #52,978.82.... Can you beat that?... Just for a single compound, Just my family, no tenant, no business of sort. Less electricity, if there is any agency to be probe by EFCC it's certainly this electricity companies.
What marvel me most is my neighbour, he was disconnected for a month and they still brought him bill. Is he paying for his SINS?... Outrageous bill allover Nigeria. The Discos are not giving out prepaid meters, yet the have the audacity to bring bills. I think it is high time people stopped paying bills to inefficient service providers. |

gonkin: Lalasticlala pls move to front page.
3hours of power in 24 hours isnt fair especially when this same town actually generates power.
If you receive 3hrs of powee in 24hrs for 31days and you get a bill of 9k to 35k per month what would you expect of the town's residents.
The most annoying thing is that the good for nothing leaders connected to the industrial line 33kv dont and never feel concerned. I think there should be a protest to remove the incompetent leaders too God bless you for your comments!!!. The people in authority and their policies are indeed clueless. |

The APC led FG is still (40,000 - 4652.70) i.e. 35,347.3MW shy of the 2019 mark they promised in 2015 though.
Hopefully they'll get there in the remainder two years. Hahaha!!! I hope they can sustain the 4,652 MW for the next 9 months without stories!!!! |

The most painful thing is that i still get estimated bills at the end of the month after spending almost a third of my salary servicing and fueling my generator. This present government has really failed in the promise the make a better life for the common Nigerian. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Power Output Climbs 4,000 MW – Fashola by pokipoki: 1:36pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
The government should look for alternate source of power generation if gas turbines are really the problem. Netherlands, a smaller country both in size and population generates about 1,450 MW from solar energy alone. That almost half of the 4,000 MW he is talking about. China currently does 77,420 MW from only solar energy. I expected Fashola to be more resourceful than all this type of stories!!! |

Yet govt are telling us they don't know the reason for the inflation...... We are really in trouble with this govt & their inept cabinet. Governance is not just about ruling, but about creating a favorable environment for citizens in the country to florish. The ruling government polices shows that really don't care about the citizens. The government increased the prices of everything necessary for production and left salaries alone. How on earth do they want the people to survive? |

I have two questions for you? First, what is the name of the road/ spot where the accident happened? (I really don't know roads in Auchi?) Secondly, you mentioned that the motorcyclist was coming from a lane from the polytechic, when he got to the junction, where do you think he was heading too? I want to believe that he was not heading towards the highway? Thank you. |

inourcare: Can We Stop The Importation By Not Buying It? People will die of hunger!! The local production cannot sustain the market, that why there is a demand for the imported garri. A way to reduce the demand for the imported garri is if we as a country up our garri production to fully meet local demand. The only way that can be done is by the government taking responsibility. We need good roads, electricity, fertilizers, and adequate security. (Especially with the Fulani herdsmen who go about terrorizing farmers and destroying their farmlands. Once the government take responsibility of the situation, i can assure that within 2 years, you will not see any Indian garri in Nigeria again. |

woodboi: I can't help but laff reading the comments here, you have to be a student, past student or have a vast knowledge about the school, b4 u can understand the reasons behind all these. That library is as good as none, the main Futo library is at "BUSHPATH", students keep paying for service they don't use (including ICT and Afrihub payment).
Mind! This is d first time i'm hearing Futoite pushing for their grievance dis far, you dare not try this in my dayz or stand to air your opinion, including d SUG excos ( That's how dey add 2 yrs 2 ur 5yrs or 6 if u did PD to make it 8yrs and if you are not lucky enough another 1yr waiting for service after sch). Secondly, If man 'o' war don't use you as their meal ticket for the rest of your stay or disgrace you in-front of hostel C.
As much as I like GloryLand, I can burn down d whole building for the insensitive ways d demigods called lecturers handle matters. It hurts, many graduates without the knowledge of their results from year 1 - 5, just a statement of result showing your grade when its all said and done, but for 4 to 5 years one can't actually have access to his/her performance, leaving students with heavy mindset and paranoia behaviour. I get that point. The truth is schools all over the world have ways of frustrating students. But I stilll beileve that there are other ways to settle grievance. Definitely not violence. Violence set people and communities backwards!!! |

I don't know exactly where the accident happened, but it seems you didnt get my point? My point is why should a motorcycle be on the highway? In as much as a truck has no right to kill the motorcyclist, the motorcycle has no right to be on highway. (if the accident happened there). That is the lawlessness I am talking about. |

Sometimes it's our lawlessness and disregard for written things that protects us, because if we strictly implemented all our agreements and conventions and trade "deals" , God knows¡¡¡¡¡ Trade deals or Trade agreement works when a country is operating optimally. We are currently been ravaged by hunger and extreme poverty!!!!. At the moment the government don't care about that. |

alongeemma: I am certain this guy is either not thinking, lacks understanding or is the perpetrator of this evil. How on earth did Indian Ga air find it's way here. This must be resisted. This must be stopped, the importer and sympathisers should be shamed before they wipe out the rest of our essence. It seems you are not aware of current economic realities. It is cheaper for importers to bring in garri now. Do you know why? Most farmers prefer to export semi processed cassava to earn FX than process garri for local consumption. Secondly business are collapsing due to the unfavorable business environment. Example, the epileptic power supply plus high cost of diesel. By the time you factor this cost into the production, the garri will be expensive. So until this trend is reversed, we will continue to see imported garri not only from India but other countries such as China, Pakistan and even Ghana. |
Agriculture › Re: Indian Garri Being Sold In Nigerian Supermarkets (Photos) by pokipoki: 11:37am On Feb 19, 2017 |
[quote author=world1 post=53843965]Alot is wrong with it. Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava. How on earth should we be importing gari into our market? We are not encouraging our industry to grow at all. Umudike and IITA should have better technologies for the processing of cassava into gari than importing from India.[/quote
The farmers make FX exporting the semi processed cassava than processing garri for local consumption. The government is not ready to encourage anyone. Besides how many companies are willing to start a processing plant where there is epileptic power supply, bad road network, double taxation from state and local government. By the time you factor all this cost to the garri, it will be very expensive. So imports are better alternative. |
