I love that she refused to allude growing popularity to Queen Bey. I mean, we knew Chimamanda of Purple Hibiscus and HOAYS already. We knew Chimamanda of the Tedtalk 'The dangers of a single story'. So why should the western world make assertions that Bey drove her into limelight when she didn't?

The best celebrities can do for each other is to 'recommend' the other's work by using it to further enhance their own work. And that's what Beyoncé did. In a sense they did something good for each other's career.

So screw all these white supremacists trying to make our home girl feel like she was nothing before the Queen grin I feel your pain. And I'm glad you refused to tolerate it.
After all Taylor Swift refused to tolerate the Kanye factor taking credit for her success tongue

omohayek:
Now, this is what a competent official sounds like! It's clear that Kachikwu fully understands the problems affecting fuel supply in Nigeria, as well as the solutions required to deal with the issue once and for all.

Unfortunately, it's also clear that the policy preferences of his boss (aka the Minister of Petroleum, aka the Junketer in Chief) have made what was already a bad situation even worse: Buhari is to blame for cancelling the contract with Tompolo which has led to an upsurge in vandalism, Buhari is to blame for a ridiculous FX policy which has brought domestic business to its knees, and Buhari is to blame for refusing to listen to Kachikwu when he first suggested privatizing and deregulating several months ago.

And just for the record, I say all of the above as neither an APC nor a PDP supporter. Jonathan's regime was rife with corruption, and his lack of decisiveness allowed Boko Haram to grow from a local nuisance into a huge menace; as such, it's perfectly understandable why the majority of voters should have wanted him out of office. The pity for Nigeria is that the only alternative to Jonathan was a stubborn old economic illiterate who is convinced that he can run an entire country's economy along the same 'command and control' lines he learned in the army.

If Buhari persists in his current course of action, he risks turning the country into another Venezuela or Zimbabwe, and those who are currently crying "bring back corruption" will start to sound all too reasonable to the majority of Nigerians.
Nice post! Devoid of biased sentiment

Christianity EtcThe Broken Home Of The Northern Family by POLICECAP(op): 11:08am On Mar 30, 2016
The broken home of the northern family. In effortless ceremony, a man got hitched to his wife and swiftly a family setting begun. In no time, Allah bless them with a boy and joy raided the air. Just as the boy clocks three years, he is escorted by the father into the city to learn the Quran. Yes, a three year old is forcefully pulled away from his mother to God knows where! The father returns home to the embrace of his wife in kulle. Putus -another baby is on the way as the first one is left forgotten. The mallam in his wisdom has been blessed by Allah and using his economic dexterity, he sends the poor child into the street to ask for arms. In the harshest of the street, the 3 years old boy learns survival instincts. He battles ruggedly against unexpected elements. In no time, he becomes a champion of the street. Unfortunately, he is cut off from the affinity of family bonds, he has no relations to share feelings with as this lad is left for the street to mould him into her dictates. He becomes vicious, angry and paranoid. To subdue his anger against his mallam, he is told never to question his conditions as it is Allah's will for him. He is told to hate those who don't belong to his religion and with unmitigated fury, he brews in anger against the people in the society. With age catching up with him, the street becomes uninhabitable for him. He can't longer beg because no one give alms to an able bodied man. He resorts to crime-from picking pockets to petty stealing and eventually to violent crimes. He is completely a nuisance to the society. The lucky ones amongst his peers are recruited into political thuggery and others brainwashed into religious fundamentalism. As the circle of the almajiri life continues, he is arrested for any of the crimes above and made to serve jail terms. After years in confinement, he comes out more bitter, frustrated and hopeless. With no task to do, he takes to selling water and ridding okada. Again, he continues his romance with the streets. Like a walking corpse, he moves around with fist of furry and stained mind of hate. He is quick to start a fight because he has nothing to lose. Because you are too sophisticated to him, you treat him with disdain and quick to pour verbal venom on him. In the blink of an eye, he draws out his pocket knife and press it to your fine body. While you writhe in pains, he flee into the streets because that is where he belongs. You learn a lesson never to engage the almajiri in a fight. Suppressed eventually by age, he become weak in the hustles of the streets and resort finally to begging as curtain of life draws on him. As he battles to bid farewell to his unfair life, he look back at the offspring of his groin -the next almajiris of his legacy. Tearfully musing
LiteratureI Got Flowers Today by POLICECAP(op): 10:26pm On Mar 17, 2016
I got flowers today! It isn't my birthday or any other special day. Last night we had another argument and he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt, I know he is sorry and didn't mean to say the things he said because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today! It isn't valentines day or any other special day. Last night he threw me into a wall and then started hitting me, it seemed unreal and I cried in pain from cuts and bruises all over me, but I know he is sorry because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today! It isn't our anniversary or any other special day, last night I didn't stop crying from painful scares on my body, scares that make-up and long sleeves would not hide, I'm afraid of him, but where would I go, how would I take care of my kids; but I know he is sorry because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today. It isn't mother's day or any other special day; last night he didn't stop beating me, he choked me and threatened to kill me. I'm too scared and dependent to leave him. Its seemed like a nightmare but people wake-up from nightmares- I know he is sorry because he sent me flowers today.

I got flowers today. It is a special day, it is the day of my funeral, I didn't wake from my nightmare, last night he killed me. If only I gathered the courage and strength to leave him I would have received help and live but I know he is sorry because I got flowers today and for the last time.

I have heard this for so long, it now sounds like a
broken karaoke.

Ladies will quickly jump on the offer of money, but scream foul and act victimized when payback is demanded. I mean it's not like you're 2years old or something, no man invests where he doesn't plan to reap.

So It makes me wonder if it's the anger of a failed deception or the sorrows of victimization that drives women to raise their voice in condemnation of their male counterparts.

It's a shame when Girls call men dogs when they demand sex on the first date.... After they have demanded money long before a date.... If a
man have to pay to have your presence, don't
complain when your total unclothed presence is
thrown into the foray.

It's also a total embarassment on feminity when a guy tasks his brain to engage in a tete-a-tete with a woman and all she has on offer is stupidity and her body- The lower part of it that is. Since the upper part seems to be full of dried saw dust-

Ladies take this simple advice. If all you have on offer is your body, Shut up and indulge a guy
when all he has to offer is Money!!! Or simply smile,
say thanks and politely refuse the money.... If you're

Nairaland GeneralAn Open Letter To LIB Fans, Fans Of Celebrities, Celebrities And Linda Ikeji by POLICECAP(op): 7:43pm On Feb 24, 2016
AN open letter to LIB fans, fans of celebrities,
celebrities and linda Ikeji

To LIB fans and fans of celebrities:
I am instigated to write this because of some recent outburst of some fans towards some celebrities, and of course our popular blogger Linda Ikeji for purchasing some personal items.

I really admire the reasoning and attitude of an
average Nigerian fan. We see ourselves as inferior
to celebrities. For me, the word FAN has two
acronyms- "Friends AssociatioN" and "Followers
AssociatioN" but unfortunately, most of us feel cozy
with the latter.

Our strong membership in the Followers
AssociatioN isn't doing us much good. It has made
us blind to reality, jealous, hypocritical, seeking the
downfall of celebrities at any possible opportunity
and having the "let's bring him down" attitude. We forget that celebrities are mere humans... like us.

We are always monitoring to castigate in detail
every step they make. We cloth ourselves with
jealousy and blind fold our minds with hate, ever
ready to taint them with our obscene speeches.
Among the things some said days back after Linda
indulged herself with expensive personal items was
that "she should have immersed her resources in
charity", attached with insults as usual. One can't
help but wonder what kind of mentality infiltrates
our present society, left for me, she can bag all her
money, ditch it into the lagoon and watch it till it
sinks to the sea bed, she owes me nothing. Its her
sweat, its her life, whatever consequences or
blessings that follows it, is between her and her
Maker.

In this country, most times we chase shadows
leaving the real image, we forget that the only
persons obligated to help us are our parents and
government officials who are sustained by tax
payers money. Others are voluntary and haven't
committed any offense if they deem it fit not to help.

Sometime in the dim past, the wife of a government official had on her a jewel worth the amount of a cozy bungalow in banana island, I expected eyes to flicker and dust raised by the public because these are the class of people we should focus our halogen lamp on and scrutinize their every activity. But instead, we closed our eyes, swept the dust under the carpet and sang her adulation.

Hypocrisy makes us feel justified to push the
responsibility of giving or helping, to only the rich
and celebrities, forgetting that giving out of our little
resource is more appreciated than giving out of
surplus.

For those of us who throw ill conceived jabs at celebrities on their relationship status is one criticism that's beyond logic..... Because same us will be the first to drag their names through the mud in the case of divorce. Tying the knot is an act that requires care, let's encourage them.

I'll urge a reasonable number of us to adopt the
former acronym for FAN- Friends AssociatioN-
because we all are celebrities of some sorts,
whether in our family, street, Estate, Local
government, National or International arena, so we
can make constructive meaningful criticisms, so we
can talk and they'll see the need to reply us, so that
Karma won't pay us back in tainted coins. And above
all, lead a better simple life, mature in thoughts and
in a more
reasonable society.

To Celebrities and Linda:, As its the manner of
business in the entertainment industry, there must
exist different manners of persons for market to
sell. How we choose to deal with them speaks
volumes about us than it does about them.

Not all followers are well wishers. Some have
clutched tight the pull down rope and won't let go,
some are out to simply overthrow and begin the
same pattern of obnoxiousness.

When pained by their piercing words, if you have no
golden silence left in your shelve, try as much as you
can to drive home your point using constructive
sarcasm.

Becoming a celebrity is not where the big work is,
the real work lies in staying a celebrity.

Take cognizance of all these, use discretion and act
with wisdom, stay focused and always pay homage
to your creator.

Not to turn a mere article into a moral instruction, I
will rest my wind and let the ink in my pen be.
God bless us all

CultureAre South-south People Actually as they Are Always Depicted by POLICECAP(op): 6:12pm On Jan 08, 2014
Like the igbo people are always depicted with any thing connecting to money, the south-south people are always depicted with arrogance, rudeness and the likes.
in nollywood home videos, arrogant, rugged, and bad scenes are always acted using their pigeon language and attitude. Even in real life, if one wants to show bad, rude attitude its "mostly" in their form.

So my question is, are they actually as they are always portrayed?
