I can relate. After graduating from the college of health in 2017, a senior colleague who lives in Ibadan called to ask me if I can work with WHO (World Health Organization), I was super excited that I’m going places in life, I mean who wouldn’t want to work with such reputable body. I started menial jobs and raised 15k which was paid. After the induction, it’s more than a month and no salary, I started suspecting the foul play. The boss opened up to us that we’ll buy product and market it, if you buy product of 34k, you can be lucky to sell it at 55k and that’s how you get promoted. I told my brother and he said “those people are GNLD that he only want me to learn the hard way before coming to my senses. I left Ibadan for good without notifying them.

I got there and first thing was interview, next day was aptitude test then individual presentation. I was like, 'Omo dis people get standard o'! If he had given them the 5K they'd now owe him, he can go there, that lady becomes his friend and motivator - all for 5k! He may even get contacts or develop skills or hear motivational talk that'll change his life! It is possible the very best use of that 5K would have been giving it to that lady!
