Politics / Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Party: ANPP, CPC, ACN And APGA Finally Merged by politician(m): 8:34pm On Feb 06, 2013
Though i am still doubting the efficacy of this merger to dislodge PDP until i have an inkling into the base agreement,

the name of the party shows a very thorough and critical thinking to arrive at a name that all the political parties involved can identify with!!

ALL --- ANPP/APGA

PROGRESSIVES-- ACN (ideology) /APGA/CPC
(name)

CONGRESS ---- ACN /CPC

They have successfully crossed the first hurdle of branding and identification and it came so easily.

A product of very reflective and critical thinking--- something not common with PDP..

Though they may have internal problems with sharing formula, agreement , planted mole but PDP sef go hear am for body now!!....

It will be shared by Lagos state officials employed by LASU

Sorry sister but i need to clarify the LASU school fee to you pls!!

When tinubu was governor 1999-2007, lagos state indigenes virtually do not pay school fees!!

The school fee was within the range of 25k and the state bursary was 25k!! It is always paid towards the end of second semester so folks used it to pay for the next session!!

The lagos mega project, BRT, expanding public service and other projects does not give room for a subsidy of LASU fee!! So the school has to fund itself via IGR + school fee while the government pays the lecturers!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ am not making a case for ACN or tinubu but we all knew what Lasu was before and what it is now!!

To say that ACN increased school fee arbitrarily without recourse is quite untrue as the stallites then paid the old fee till they graduated!!

Thank you!

Politics / AKEREDOLU/ ACN Presents 46 Lawyers To Challenge MIMIKO by politician(m): 6:05pm On Jan 08, 2013
The Ondo State Chapter of the Action Congress of
Nigeria, ACN, and its Governorship Candidate,
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, have presented 46 lawyers
that will prosecute their petitions against Governor
Olusegun Mimiko at the Governorship Election
Tribunal.
The legal team, headed by Akin Olujinmi, has
concluded its physical inspection of the documents
used by Independent National Electoral Commission,
INEC, to conduct the October 20 Governorship Poll.

The findings are expected to be used at the trial of the
case.

Sources within the ACN alleged that the options being
exploited by the state governor and Labour Party
candidate, Olusegun Mimiko, and the Labour Party is
to kill the petition on technical grounds.
Many objections have been filed to this effect by the
Respondents including a cross petition to the result
declared by INEC in Irele and Ilaje to prevent any of
the Petitioners/opposition candidates from being
declared the winner without a rerun.

Mr. Mimiko’s legal team is led by Wole Olanipekun
while that of the Labour Party is led by Yusuf Ali.
ACN, Accord challenge tribunal jurisdiction

The ACN and Mr. Akeredolu have also challenged the
jurisdiction of the Governorship Election Tribunal
sitting in Akure to make use of the reply filed by
Labour Party.

The objection was filed by their lawyers led by three
Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Akin Olujimi, Oladipo
Okpeseyi and Lasun Sanusi.

ACN is contesting the competence of the Labour
Party’s petition filed by Wahab Egbewole, allegedly a
full time employee of the University of Ilorin, an
Educational Institution financed by the Federal
Government.
The party noted that paragraphs 1&2(b) of the filth
schedule of the constitution forbids Mr. Egbewole,
who is a public officer, from offering his service to any
other person except his employer.

It maintained that Mr. Egbewole has no ‘locus standi’
to sign Labour Party’s reply to the petition and the
reply signed by him is a nullity and should not be used
by the Tribunal.

ACN also prayed the Tribunal to strike out all the
motions filed by the Labour Party challenging the
Tribunal Jurisdiction.

It argued that by virtue of Electoral Act all objections
raised in Respondent’s Reply shall be heard along
with substantive suit and not by motion at the Pre-
hearing session.

Similar applications were filed by the Accord party
challenging the reply filed by Wahab Egbewole.

The
applications will be heard on Thursday, January 10.
The Tribunal at its last sitting hinted that it may
consolidate all the petitions before it.
The petitions were filed by ACN, Accord Party,
Peoples Democratic Party, People for Democratic
Change, and the Congress for Progressive Change.

I may sound archaic but i know am right - Chimes travails started from the day he stepped into that family. . .

Chime was doing very fine, healthy and productive until he married her. . .

Funny enuf - i don't bet, but am willing to bet that Chime will not return to Enugu State Government House. . .

The second amendment had been the undoing of a society with perverts, mentally disturbed folks and a society that condones SUICIDE!!!

The american culture condone suicide and when folks are disturbed, they commit suicide and some go extra mile to kill whoever they see as the cause of their rejection ( family friend, wife etc).

Adam lanza was a disturbed kid, probably affected by the divorce of his parents and blame the school for tearing her mom away!! As a maniac that he is, he felt killing his mum and the source of the problem (newtown school) would end it!!

Reports said he had an altercation with people at the school early this week!!

Senator Mc cain + the other two amigos had recently said that the 2nd amendment is off-list. Can't be repelled or amended and obama also hinted that with promise of 'concrete action'.

A normal kid find divorce difficult, a disturbed and brilliant kid with a collection of guns would seek solutions and adam lanza did that.... Kill the mom and the school people that made her divorce the dad!!

This doesn't make it right, its a gross act, unfit for a normal being--- well adam wasn't normal and hardly speak and the society kept quiet until he spoke ---with guns!!

Politics is a contest of ego and domination on interests!! A game of wits where nothing happens by chance!!

@seanet, take dat and baba musiwa!!

ACN is the grandmaster of trickery and political jingoism!!

This process is called consolidation of voters base!!
The state election tribunal is to look into the election and award the elections to popular candidates in LCDA not LG!!

Its a trick to lure people into the party, ACN is not very popular I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ some LG like alimosho, badagry, they lost the house of rep election to that Aero guy but he can't assume the post!! Even INEC can't help him!!

Don't be deceived guys, that judge was appointed by the chief judge of lagos state who is on the payroll of ACN!! And giving obanikoro an LCDA post is just another jab to keep them at bay toward 2015 and this new guy too must be a grass root politician
!
And i can place a bet that that guy will re contest on ACN platform!!

Rigging is not an electoral offence in nigeria, it is seen as part of the rules!!!

CPC-- RIG
ACN---RIGGER
PDP---RIGGEST

ACN is a party of intellectual thugs like wale babalakin, fash, mamora, ngige, ashafa bareehu, ganiyu solomo, aregberascal, prof fayemi etc!!

But PDP is the largest party in africa with the Most effective rigging mechanism In the world.. For them to contest in LCDA is a shame to OBJ!! Ȋ̝̊̅ thought he said LCDAs are illegal!!

Its a greek gift form ACN to PDP, just to lure some new members.... What's an LCDA to 20LGs.

Foreign Affairs / Eyptian President. Issues Decree Giving Him Absolute Power by politician(m): 11:39pm On Nov 22, 2012
CAIRO –  Egypt's president on Thursday issued constitutional amendments that placed him above judicial oversight and ordered the retrial of Hosni Mubarak for the killing of protesters in last year's uprising.

Mohammed Morsi also decreed immunity for the Islamist-dominated panel drafting a new constitution from any possible court decisions to dissolve it, a threat that had been hanging over the controversial assembly.

Liberal and Christian members withdrew from the assembly during the past week to protest what they say is the hijacking of the process by Morsi's allies, who they saw are trying to push through a document that will have an Islamist slant marginalizing women and minority Christians and infringing on personal liberties. Several courts have been looking into cases demanding the dissolution of the panel.

The Egyptian leader also decreed that all decisions he has made since taking office in June and until a new constitution is adopted and a new parliament is elected -- which is not expected before next spring -- are not subject to appeal in court or by any other authority. He also barred any court from dissolving the Islamist-led upper house of parliament, a largely toothless body that has also faced court cases.

The moves effectively remove any oversight on Morsi, the longtime Muslim Brotherhood figure who became Egypt's first freely elected president last summer after the Feb. 11, 2011 fall of autocrat Hosni Mubarak. They come as Morsi is riding high on lavish praise from President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for mediating an end to eight days of fighting between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Morsi not only holds executive power, he also has legislative authority after a previous court ruling just before he took office on June 30 dissolved the powerful lower house of parliament, which was led by the Brotherhood. With two branches of power in his hands, Morsi has had repeated frictions with the third, the judiciary, over recent months.

"Morsi today usurped all state powers & appointed himself Egypt's new pharaoh," pro-reform leader Mohamed ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter account. "A major blow to the revolution that could have dire consequences."

The president made most of the changes Thursday by issuing a declaration amending what has become a patchwork interim constitution in effect since Mubarak's fall. The military, which took power after Mubarak, set the precedent for the executive unilaterally issuing constitutional changes, which it did several times during its 16-month rule.

The president did not lie!!

He was not just telling the truth!!

Abati and his media aides did the job they were hired to do---- clean jona's mess!!

They were hired to always make jonah look good with nigerians, lie if necessary, just make the boss look good!!

And for jona to call these guys liars, its either he wants to get rid of them or he is just a retardeen like demdem always maintain!

The president has a good heart, he really wants to effect positive changes in the nation but he is just too SLOW in the head!! A RETARDEEN!!

He lacks the charisma, panache and strong character to be a president.

A real man (even a military head-of-state) would have parried the questions, post an innuendo and just tell us the obvious without saying that his aides lied.... And Jona was not just that!!

We all knew they were liars... And lied on your behalf!!

He is weak and that is not good enough to be president though Ȋ̝̊̅ really believe he has a good heart!!
Travel / Re: Rules For Dealing With Cab Drivers In Abuja by politician(m): 11:53am On Nov 15, 2012
Very normal!!

The craziness of lagos drivers is legendary!!

25 Rules of driving in Lagos
1. When in doubt, accelerate!

2. Be prepared to ram into anything stopping you that is wearing uniform in Lagos (police, traffic warden, FRSC, Kai brigade, fire brigade, VIO, LASTMA, LAMATA, LASWA)

3.If you get caught by any chance, do not allow them to enter your car, if they happen to get in do not drive from that spot (veer off traffic & settle promply), and if they don’t agree, pretend that you are calling your uncle who is in the army (believe me it always works), never follow them to any sort of office except you are ready to pay ten times more than what was demanded.

4. Never give police or VIO your original particulars (whether expired or up to date).

5. Danfo drivers believe they are immortal. Never yield to the temptation to teach them otherwise.

6. Okada riders have a pact with suicide, avoid them like a plaque.

7. Avoid BRT buses in all ramifications, they have no brakes.

8. Taxi cabs (oko asewo) should always have the right of way, all of them have been driving in Lagos for 25 years.

9. Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.

10. The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it. Survival of the fittest you may say!

11. Learn to swerve abruptly. In Lagos, potholes (and sometimes car-holes) are put in key locations to test drivers’ reflexes and shock absorbers,( I saw one man fishing in one of the potholes last week).

12. There is no such thing as “one-way” in Lagos. Expect traffic from any direction at all times. The okada riders are the experts in this area.

13. Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive bodywork, except you want to spend your whole Saturday at the panel beater’s place.

14. Morning rush-hours are equivalent to Lagos grand prix (who gets to the junction first).

15. There is no such thing as a short-cut during rush-hour traffic in Lagos. Everybody might be inclined to take that ’short-cut’.

16. When asking for directions, always ask at least three people. Lagosians always claim to know every inch of the city – even areas they’ve never been to.

17. Use extreme caution when pulling into service lanes. Service lanes are not for breaking down the traffic, but for speeding, especially during rush hour.

18. Never use directional signals, since they only confound and distract other Lagos drivers, who are not used to them.

19. Similarly, never attempt to give hand signals. Lagos drivers, unused to such courtesies, will think you are making obscene gestures to them. This could be very bad for you in Lagos.

20. Hazard lights (popularly called “double pointer”) is not, (as commonly supposed) used to indicate a hazard. It is a warning to you that he is a bonafide Lagos driver, he’s headed ’straight’ and as such, will not stop under any circumstance. Take him extremely seriously especially if he backs it up with a continuous blast from his “horn”.

21. At any given time, do not stand on the zebra crossing expecting traffic to yield to you, or else you will have to explain to the on coming traffic whether you look like a zebra.

22. Speed limits are arbitrary figures posted only to make you feel guilty.

23. Remember that the goal of every driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.

24. In Lagos every spot is a potential bus stop. FRSC and LASTMA know that too. It is in their constitution.

25. Above all, keep moving. Even with a flat tyre!!!

HORNING IN LAGOS
Horn’ when someone executes a dangerous maneouvre.

‘Horn’ when you’re about to move off.

‘Horn’ when you’re about to overtake.

‘Horn’ when someone is about to overtake you.

‘Horn’ when turning into a road.

‘Horn’ when emerging from a road.

‘Horn’ back when someone horns at you. It’s considered good etiquette.

‘Horn’ when you hear a chorus of horns. Don’t worry if you don’t know what all the ‘horning’ is about.

‘Horn’ when you’re happy.

‘Horn’ to the beat when you’re playing music in your car.

But he is a vital cog in the wheel of any legislative bill!!

When he speaks... The gavel bangs ... Voting

Ask bankole!! He would tell you that to complete a not-to-popular bill, ask patrick to give closing debate!!

He has more quotable quotes and videos on U- tube than any nigerian politician dead or alive.... Ȋ̝̊̅ stand corrected!!

Patrick is. adored by students!!
Loved by the press!!
Envied by hons!!
Admired by intellectuals..

That's not a small feat for a legislator or maybe jester as some believed!!

While trying to criticise him by double checking his oyinbo, we have always learnt a few thing too!!

That's called impact...

Politics / Re: Have You Held Leadership Position? What Was The Experience Like? by politician(m): 8:16pm On Nov 13, 2012
@all, the story long small but please indulge me!!

I have often believe that a leader is someone who takes the followers not where they want to be but where they ought to be until my university days!!

I was an effico ( bookworm) throughout primary schools days( lots of awards) so my opinion counts!!

I was often rewarded by been chosen to play football with the big boys though Ȋ̝̊̅ end up scoring more in my own goal post than the opponents!!

Secondary school followed the same pattern, Ȋ̝̊̅ have always derived leadership role through intelligence sha!! ( Prefect + SRC speaker etc)

The real role came in university, in 100L, i led a group of students through superior arguments and creativity in congress and politiking to RETIRE the part 3s!!
And became the leader of the rebels!! Hence the name BASHORUN GAA

I and my cronies occupied the positions of Assistant Gen Sec of faculties + SUG. Without even a matric number as we do conduct election in first semester!

The real test was in part two and Ȋ̝̊̅ must confess.. Ȋ̝̊̅ failed... I was elected as the Budgetary and finance committee chairman of the SUG!!

We raised 6million naira + dues, we had a grand plan to execute some projects, aluta market and i also sidelined those part 3s (now part 4).. And they had to retire!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ organized trips to ghana and obudu for students and unionists (2005)! Something not common I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ school then!

Ȋ̝̊̅ was so articulate that even the law students can't stand hon bash!!
the DSA nicknamed me Osama bin laden as i write most of the Union publication to tackle the school.

The departments and falcuty exco must bring agenda to us before congress, if not they will become ex (badt politics).

From school gate to dept, its hailings from security to lecturer!! Always on native!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ reduced the SUG rents, held the school to ransom many times and even faced panel thrice!!

Well, they all ganged up against me and trump up charges against me!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ contested the Speakership election and LOST--- my cronies had decamped!! But became the ASG of NANS (ZONE D). Under National president of --- ( can't say)

I now see that people will rather vote for someone they stand a chance with, than an absolute tormentor!! If bash becomes speaker, we are finished( who will control him) and infact Ȋ̝̊̅ was out of control!!

I did an inward search, Ȋ̝̊̅ was a charismatic leader( yes loved and respected by many) but Ȋ̝̊̅ lost touches with the people!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ retired and faced studies... Kept silent in school till part five!!

My croonies returned and confessed, one last ride as a team but Ȋ̝̊̅ was wiser!!

I was made the chairman of the SUG electoral committee and i played the most complex permutation in my SUG history!!! 10 candidates emerge from my faculty--- my friends nearly fainted!! Right under their noses!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ also doubled as the graduating Set chairman for the whole school, Ȋ̝̊̅ sidelined all my former croonies that they couldn't attend their own send forth!!
Made away with the award all unionist crave,

El politico of the set!!

And when posting came out, his name was dere and he even made 2-1!! BASHORUN GAA!!

The negotiating ratio of ratifying budgets in my SUG is still called owo bashorun ( bashorun money)....

During my NYSc, i did not have a CD group!!
PA to LI, report to LI directly --- a role i got after bamboozling lawyers from Law school, Agbani, Enugu state at a public forum!!

And now, i am still trying to be a better follower as Ȋ̝̊̅ have not been the best of leaders and to be a good leader, you have to be a better follower!!

This has prepared me for leadership in the workplace that i find really amusing!!

Politicians and Magicians have one thing I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ common, they take your attention off the reality!!

ACN is a grand master in trickery and jingoism!!

Anytime the party has an agenda, constant statistics kept pouring out!!

But what's the percentage of
A) bad roads
B) unemployed youths
C) crushed okadas etc

Ȋ̝̊̅ support the limiting of the operation of the okadas to trunk C roads but ACN sabi do wayo sha!!

Intellectual wayo!!

This integration plan of ACN looks more of a political secession... Gravitate away from the centre!!

At least, its better than the charade of PDP trying to take credit for solving problems they created(boko haram + fuel subsidy)..

Foreign Affairs / Re: USA, Election, Any Lesson Learnt??? by politician(m): 8:44am On Nov 07, 2012
As obama wins re election and americans move forward, congrats to Barrack hussien Obama!!

A bigger congrats to Joe biden-- grassroot politician to the core( he countered Romney+ryan in the swing states)!!

The biggest congrats to BILL CLINTON for the politricks and propaganda (only politicians would understand).

The blacks for keeping the brotherhood(jay Z,tyler perry etc), the latinos (pitbull etc),

the 39 percent whites that believed in obama,
the 55 percent american women that voted for him, the younger ones(18-29),
the conservative older ones (55-).
The partisan media (CNN, al jazeera, fox MNSBC etc)
And the elites ( donald trump and Co)

They all made the election interesting and gave us some inkling into ♓☺w it should be!!

Nigeria will get there, very soon!!

Yes! Very soon!!

A candidate would call his opponent to congratulate him and accept defeat rather than head to court!!

Very soon, a president would give a speech without reading from the paper!

An independent candidate would win an election

Volunteer would replace party thugs!!

Election results would count and we will all have faith in the system!!

Very soon, Nigeria will be what it was,is and will be!!

A GREAT COUNTRY!!!

For the nigerians wondering why are we so interested in US elections,
Self-denial of the fact that our democracy is a carbon copy of US minus the electoral college would be a bad thing!!

We have just been tutored on ♓☺w elections should be conducted and we are better informed --

Almost 90 pages of informative thread on NL!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ go sleep for work today** yawns**!!
Vigil for another country election!!
