Politics / Re: Ondo Elections Not Free And Fair- Akeredolu by politician(m): 12:34pm On Oct 23, 2012
Demdem: No problem. If Akeredolu feels he has a good case, he should be encouraged to go to court. Its not out of place. I wish him luck.

Chief, this statement just earned my admiration!!
During the declaration by the returning officer, FUTA VC, the man said .... Olusola mimiko is hereby declared winner and returned!!

2 mins later, the LP agent (he had been protesting before) raise alarm that it should read thus... Rahman mimiko is hereby declared winner and returned as governor!!

The VC said its the same thing, the agent protested , the VC had to call everybody to attention and read it again! This time, as the LP wants!

That's what happen when a doctor defeats 2 lawyers!!

ACN would likely not go to the tribunal, they tend to loose affections by doing so!!

They should just kick-start the regional integration plan( if it truly exists) and people will pick up brooms again!!

Fighting mimiko is just a battle that can spell doom, others would key into it to defect from the party!!

If mimiko can do it, we can do it too!!!

And ACN and PDP disappointed me somehow... They didn't quite RIG!! Quite unusual!!( At least those caught were LP) or maybe they were not caught!!

Ȋ̝̊̅ had predicted thus before...

MY TAKE!!

It would take a political miracle for ACN to spin this!!

The ondo pple will speak via the ballot!!

And knowing the way we conduct elections in nigeria!! It will likely be a case of.....

PDP--- RIG
LP. ---- RIGGER
ACN --- RIGGEST

Afterall, someone one said '' If you can't win an election, you rig''
If you cannot rig, get somone to rig for you'

take dat: All political parties are the same but with different individuals. My only reason for them to merge is because we can't keep creating god fathers in the SW and so that Tinubu's power can be usurped. The people in LP today were in AD the day before and PDP yesterday. Politicians are all the same all they need is a platform

Like i said sir!! The discussion is for mature minds and adult!!

Pls ask him, where is the former ondo state chairman of LP -- olaiya oni!!

Carrying an ACN membership card!!

Senator Prof boroface -- LP -ACN

And mimiko too was. AD -- PDP--LP

Ȋ̝̊̅ won't mention the jumpology to PDP!!

The problem is with the system!! We often vote parties out hoping for a change and they just turn out to be the same!!

When you wrote ''lamentation of job''. Ȋ̝̊̅ wanted to reply! But this statement just gave you away sir!!

I am not an ACN member and i have attacked tinubu's megalomaniac moves severally, even got a ban for it!!

I analysed and predicted this victory on NL here! So if you don't mind, let's discuss as adult!!

Alxmyr:

Mimiko need not be a godfather.
The system is already divided against ACN.
People will not go back to PDP.
ACN is performing less than their expectation and more importantly, people are seeing ACn as another PDP in a new garb.
Mimiko election is the tipping point that another political strategist in SW can latch on and capitalise on.

Ȋ̝̊̅ am willing to learn from you sir!!

PDP is still winning is some area I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ lagos and accord party is very strong I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ oyo state!!

Dislodging ACN won't really bring an end to bad governance just a respite!!

omiobo:

Abegi, leave all this Godfather bullshit! Do you know what it takes to be a godfather? Money!!

Let's discuss as mature adult pls!! Words like bullshit isn't really portraying that pls sir!

And you said it all, they need money to be whatever( stalwarts, party Big boy etc) and they will use the STATE FUND ( both ACN, LP, PDP)!

You made a very good point that other politicians can key into that to dislodge ACN and Ȋ̝̊̅ cannot but concur!! But for ♓☺w long can we keep recycling!! Why can't we just have parties with a fixed ideology!!

Once you are a member, your ideology is clear!!
Politics / Re: Gov.Mimiko Leads In 12 LGAs In Gubernatorial Election by politician(m): 9:41am On Oct 21, 2012
Alxmyr: Its a call to the likes of Ayo Fayose to return to Labour Party and stop frolicking with PDP.
PDP will not fly in SW. ACN is gathering much hatred and stemming from Mimiko's victory, a rapport with Mimiko will sway people's sympathy to him.
SW always want to be seen as independent. Fayose will do better, if he start building his strong in LP.
Likewise, Ladoja should find his way to LP. This will automatically give him a better stand and an independent candidature free from PDP and Tinubu.

If all this should happen as you professed,

And what would that make MIMIKO...... A GODFATHER too..

Just a cycle of events... One Godfather down, another rise from the ashes!!!
Politics / Re: Gov.Mimiko Leads In 12 LGAs In Gubernatorial Election by politician(m): 9:35am On Oct 21, 2012
take dat: The first thing I noticed from this election is that they seem to be a lot of voters apathy. One would have thought with the election fever that pervaded everywhere before the actual election, more voters would have turned out to cast their votes for a candidate of their choice.

From my own view this is still a good showing from LP. The mere fact that Mimiko got high votes in perceived ACN and PDP stronghold shows that the people of Ondo likes him.

ACN also tried even with all the anti Tinubu sentiment he still pulled a 100k plus votes out of say 500k valid votes. Not minding the it has more of a political novice as its candidate and it is a relatively new party in Ondo State (reasons for a long time they dilly dialled with Mimiko thinking he was going to decamp to ACN. Guess there started putting in structures on ground in Ondo just say 2yrs ago).

PDP just lost that seat less than 4yrs ago, one would have thought they should still have structures on ground. Some people from Abuja (ie Agagu, minister representing Ondo, Kuku etc) just didn't put things right and I think they had this problem of imposition just like ACN.

Mimiko himself stated in an interview that he co operates with the ACN governors when it comes to regional integration. Mind you Governors Forum has no political colouration.

The people of Ondo have made their choice

What you have said is just the TRUTH!!
I worked with Mimiko campaign orgainzation in 2007! Ȋ̝̊̅ wrote articles for the partisan newspaper he used to flush agagu!!

ACN made a mistake of TRUST!! Something that does not exist in politics!!
Let's leave performance index, this election is about an agreement!! -- help me to fight my enemy, Ȋ̝̊̅ would join you.

ACN left ondo state out of the political scheme during the last election believing mimiko would cross carpet!!

Prof boroface + others could not renegade on the agreement, they joined ACN from LP!!

The prof days are numbered as a senator as a petition is on ground already!!

ACN funded mimiko's court cases, even used adaba Fm to counter OSRC!!

And ACN that i know( yes i do) knew it was a lost-cause, little wonder, they didn't even try to rig!!
The alleged riggers were all LP!!

The choice of akeredolu further stress the system of fielding technocrats by ACN!! Accomplished professionals in their field and that was a mistake in this case, olusola oke on an ACN platform will have closed the gap!! Ale was just too musch of a gentleman!

Jagaban taking the election personal too really fuelled mimiko' strategy of ''appeal to pity''.
Mimiko survives only as a one-man entity!!
A very good strategist!!

As for the apathy, some people were I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ a dilemma on who to vote for, others are just too scared to be seen voting the opposition!!

ACN played politics of brotherhood----- trust and investment gone awry!!

And bro, the people of Ondo did not like mimiko
,they are proud people who will rather have a bad son than bow to a foreigner,
they only hate tinubu, can't forget the Cocoa house issue and want to protect their oil from the so-called tinubu-company!!
Politics / Re: Gov.Mimiko Leads In 12 LGAs In Gubernatorial Election by politician(m): 8:27am On Oct 21, 2012
take dat: Won't Mimiko be going the Tinubu way if he decides to spread its reach outside Ondo to other states. He needs heavy investment to do that and the only way to get fund for such project is to use Ondo state's money. Mind you Tinubu's woes started just like that when he wanted to extend ACN to other state he had to use Lagos State money. Let us thread softly. While basking in euphoria of Mimiko's victory so as not to create another godfather

You nailed it bro!!

The tale of a Godfather and Godson!!

A new Godfather has just hatched!!

ACN should just count their losses and know they have been beaten!!
An investment gone awry!!

Mimiko--- a master at what he does!!

Result so far.

15 LGAs counted and remaining 3.

The breakdown according to political party;

ACN 116,662,

LP 222,448

PDP 113,688

New Futa VC to announce the cumulative and final results!!

For political inclined individuals, can we have an intellectual and critical analysis of the cause, effects and back-effects of the polity and politics of this election (pls not mimiko vs tinubu blabbing)!! A fragmentation within the opposition!!

The appeal to pity of LP!!
The megalomaniac tendencies of ACN stalwarts!!
The role of PDP!!
the tricks and politics!!

Some of us know the two parties so well than to start blabbing mimiko/tinubu!! Let's analyse pls!!

The tale of a Godfather, Godson and the Principal!!!

The economies of regional integration as a tool for national relevance( towards 2015) ....( At least jona go pay more with 6 states)!

ijigbamigb: I think Mimiko is the only one capable of countering the antics and politics of the ACN.
One sure thing is ACN would have defeated the PDP if both are left to face each other. But Mimiko is surely not a baby-politician. He really has the intelligence and political charisma to stand as a better opposition to the ACN in d entire south west. But my fear is that, aside Mimiko in dt party, the rest are onlookers. He's d alpha and omega of that party.

I wish him a successful second term, but he has to start grooming acceptable personalities if he wants to remain in power even after leaving office.
I voted for him simply because d other candidates appear unprepared.

Well said!!

Bola ahmed tinubu!!

Egunjenmi omo jogunomi!!

3 set of people hate him..

1) The opposition for beating them to the game of politricks, rigging and safe-proof looting of public funds!!

2) The elites ( government is a conspiracy of the elites) for always competing with them with public funds ( nations group of company) and the government can't do anything about it

3) Any nigerian that hates corruption and has never held any political office ( student union, trade association etc)

Any other person is hypocritical!! Envy and jealousy!! Most people wish they had the sagacity of tinubu !!

It takes a rogue, educated thug like tinubu to chase PDP out of the southwest and bring jona to lagos via night flight to negotiate!!

That's not an easy task!!

PDP is the largest party in africa with the most effective rigging mechanism in the world!!

Any person that can shake such party and not get jailed deserves some form of hatred either real or manufactured!!

And this is below the belt!!

PDP has a principal.
ACN has a God father.
But Iroko depends on God the Father..

A case of

LP-- 35 percent
ACN -- 30 percent
PDP ---25 percent

The election will be determined by the remaining TEN percent via rigging, last minute de camping + REC bribing!! It could swing anyway!!

The ondo pple will speak via the ballot!!
And knowing the way we conduct elections in

A prophesy based on your bitterness with ACN (sold their birthright to PDP).
Let's talk better politics jare not compromised prophecy!! Alainironu elenu baje!!

Tinubu is not a saint!!
Infact in a sane society, he should be in jail writing his memoir (looting public funds)!!

And mimiko should have been shot dead a long time ago if akure was 'Sicily' ( serial betrayer and back stabber)

Tinubu' 8 years in lagos was just an average performance amplified by obasanjo refusal to release funds!! He only redeemed himself with a good successor and doggedly warding off PDP from SW!!

When Oga mimiko came back from tribunal, the shout of Iroko, ayefele songs and loud music from A&T hotel nearly made me fail my final papers then!

The expectations were high, the ondo people want development and jobs!!
With the promise of 4000 jobs I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ 100days, hopes were high!
Till today, the only Job created is 'employing' iwanyanwu LP chairman as the pro chancellor of the state uni.
He did well on health issues but failed woefully on the expectation of the people!!
All the projects the Agagu-led administration started, including roads, schools, water-were abandoned?
The Oluwa Glass industry, The Ceramics industry in Okelusi was similarly abandoned?
The tomato paste factory at Arigidi in Akokoland for which N400 million has been expended?
Okelusi Cement factory for which this administration has reportedly spent a whopping N5.6 billion but nothing on ground to
show for it?
The failed Owo-Akure , Ondo-Akure ,Arakale road dualisation project?
The multi-million naira Owena Dam project at Owo? The Akure stadium, etc

His defence of Osun state is laughable, with Oil producing area derivation grants, he had more at his disposal!! 550 billion federal allocation is not a small cash!

The 'Joker'(permit me) was to lure mimiko to ACN by helping him to fight agagu at the tribunal and I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ his usual style!! He does the ikoko(fox) move!!

The choice of akeredolu ale was a bitter pill tinubu has to swallow, salami didn't just front for ACN for fun, his boys deserves some spoils of the show too!! And most of the LP and PDP decampees were just looking for platforms to contest!!

It would take a political miracle for ACN to spin this!!

Even though, the yorubas have vowed never to vote for any party with 'P' again! PDP, ANPP, LP,CPP etc

The ondo people wants development, they have looked at the former era and found succor!! That's why PDP still has potency in ondo state!!

He is from the tribe that is under scrutiny, so he cannot be an unbiased party.

Eze sir, so its about a tribe not an individual ( awolowo). I thought the whole issue is about the war crimes of awolowo and his thirst for power at all cost!!

That Achebe( a distinguished citizen) had made a similar remarks 30yrs ago and now reiterating it in his memoir shows it is his personal opinion on that issue.

Going through the arguments, Ȋ̝̊̅ can deduct the following!!

A) the igbos expected the yoruba to help with the war

B) the yorubas and any other person that acted I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ any way against the Igbos during the war are betrayers

C)awolowo is a murderer, he killed millions of children and women without firing a shot. (Via policy) and also impoverish the igbos with economic policy!thereby guilty of committing a war crime.

D)the yorubas that fought with Igbos are not betraying their own people. They are Good people.

E)the igbos felt wronged by the awo policy and ter it attempted genocide!!

MY TAKE PLS

I am a yoruba man staying I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ the east and Ȋ̝̊̅ can at least to an extent measure the feelings of the igbos towards the odua nation!!

It is not of bitterness but betrayal, the igbos feel betrayed by a fellow southerner. People they felt shared a common fate with them. Hence the word, COWARDS!!
We don't have to go into the rhetorics of who is right or wrong now, the feeling is of a lost-relationship!!

Our sovereign Motherland.

Ȋ̝̊̅ share in the absolute faith ...
---of the fallen heroes of the Nigerian hope who spoke and wrote and rose
and hoped, to the death, that Nigeria may yield our planet infinite hope;
---of the standing legends of the Nigerian promise who labour and struggle-
daring deadly dangers-that our heroes' death may not be in vain;
---of the earth and waters and peoples of Nigeria for always being at the
receiving end of the Nigerian moral and physical violence.

And on this day, we hail thee and pray thus..

O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide thou our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

And the prayers of our fathers...
Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour'd,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.

O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

Ȋ̝̊̅ profess good things about you today!!!
Happy birthday Dear!! Ȋ̝̊̅ luv you!!
Naija for life***

As composed by me!!!

I think this is a great thread!
I have been to a lot of tourist sites and attractions in the south of the niger! Micom, erin ijesha water fall, ikogosi, the various beaches and resorts in lagos, olumo. In ogun etc!
I have been to calabar on four diffrent trips, the metropolitan hotel is really sumthimg to behold, the slave relics museum will bring back memories of the slave era and the TINAPA resort is worthy of a visit!!

Lemme give an insight into a trip to CROSS RIVER!!
You can start the trip by visiting calabar first via flight, hire a cab to take you round the town! There are many hotels in calabar as the name Come And Live And Be At Rest really shows in the town!
There are 4-star hotels like the metropolitan and sum other hotels in the GRA sides! A room would go for 20k per nite! You can settle for a low budget flat styled hotels in the GRA which goes for like 6K! Very comfy!!
Places of interest.... Tinapa biz resort, Mariner Resort( you can take a boat from Tinapa to mariner resort, I did and it was fun!)
And the town itself! Mary slessor tomb etc!
Pls don't forget to ask for a traditional barbecue of grilled fish with pepper!!

Then you can move to OBUDU cattle ranch!
From calabar to ikom to obudu( such a nice journey if you appreciate geography and wildlife) it takes like 5hrs!

Or a flight to bebi airstrip, very close to the ranch!
You will be welcome by the gate with a cattle head! And the cable car ride which is 4'KM long!
The cable car is maintained by a private company and not govt, it is really an experience as it can really go high and the Change over between the ridges can give you heart attack! The cable car will jerk and you will think this thing will fall Oo°˚˚˚°Oo! ! But once you are on the welcome patio of the ranch, you will always want a return ride! Its really fun as the road ride is not less risky! The devil's bow is really scary!

The Protea hotel is really comfy and Behind! They have standard room and really nice bar with nice artifacts! There is half a bull strapped to the wall! Very beautiful! The hotel rates are aS applicable to protea hotels in nigeria!
There is a village on the mountain and the villagers sell cheap alcohol and cattle beef! I always settle for that cuz protea can be expensive! A bottle of star for 600 naira!
They also provide bungalow room with AC for 5K per nite!
There is a waterfall where you and your hubby should try and take a dip! Not in the morning as you can freeze!
The view of the mountains is something to behold, the cloud appears just to be above head early in the morning and a wonderful view of southern cameroun!!

I would post pictures once I have access to M̶̲̥̅̊y̶̲̥̅̊ PC! Just feel free to ask me any question on CALABAR and OBUDU as I have been there four times and do organize trips during M̶̲̥̅̊y̶̲̥̅̊ university days.
Some parts of this country are worth visiting!

Mallamabdul: Yesterday, we heard that a notorious Boko haram leader has been captured by JTF. Today, a major shakeup was done that led to the sack of Azazi and Haliru. Kudos Gej. We will survive

I really believe in a conspiracy theory against azazi! This morning on political platform, the presenters were still commending the JTF for bringing sanity to some parts of the affected area and the arrest! Azazi must have stumbled on something bigger than him and that the col Dasuki was the ADC to babangida further affirm M̶̲̥̅̊y̶̲̥̅̊ belief! GOD HELP NIGERIA

Though Sanusi is an egocentric man who has absolute belief in his competence, we still have to respect his personal life too. That turbaning meant a lot to him and he was not the only one being conferred with title that day
I am sure some members of those that lost pple dere wuld have done more insane thingz since den. So cut SLS some slack!

Education / Is It True That B.tech = B.sc + Hnd: by politician(m): 3:06pm On Jul 09, 2009
In 1981,Shehu shagari established the universities of technology to provide self employment opportunities for graduate.
NABTEB was seen as a springboard for BTech, the graduates are expected to be employers of labour. Over the years B tech graduate cant be distinguished from Bsc or HND.
Is it still true that Btech is far more better than Bsc,
