Cindino20: Many thanks. Guess your response can be likened to the QED we write at the end of a mathematics question. If a may ask, do employers place value on the class of school attended post Msc? Even though hustle is key, the future is very very important! I can endure just a little hustle if the school I am attending is enough to open doors with little effort (get me into the HR's interviewing table at least) in the future. |

Kindly help a brother with experienced views as I am now having a rethink about my choice of place of study. I have already started Visa processing so the decision is hinging on a few factors. I have the option of CAU,Kiel and Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Baden-Württemberg). I have politely rejected other offers I got (following our ogas' due process ) I am all for hustling from the word go so please put that at the top of the list to be followed by the quality of education at both schools (make una no even think reach P.hD level o, no be book I come life come read), the city, the economy, distance to urban hubs etc. to be used in the analysis please. Please do not ignore.... we all will know a little bit more about the two cities at least and possibly encourage others to look in their direction too... that is asides helping me make make a well informed decision. @EKE.... you are really appreciated! You exemplify the mindset we want to project Nigerians as possessing. God bless your hustle. |

Can someone please enlighten me on how the admission interview of FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg works? Just got the scope of the interview as follows: Fundamentals of: - Mathematics - Electronics - Stochastic Processes - Linear Systems Theory - Systems and Signals - Communications Are we talking general overview here or problem solving instances is to be expected. Some of these subjects (Stochastic Processes ) are quite wide and to be frank, it has been a while (Old papa youngie ) Just to encourage our folks, keep at it! seek advice from the more knowledgeable members and don't despair in the face of rejection. I got rejected by Stuttgart and TUM (E pain me o make i no lie ) but as of today, CAU Kiel, TuHH (full admission) and FAU (dependent on interview) have come calling. Offenburg is still outstanding. This is just another step but it is one step closer to the goal than I was last month. God bless us all.... 1 Like |

Hello family, just to chip in something for all prospective and intending people. Do well to go through the course content of the courses being opted for in the different schools because it is possible to be presented with a program name while the course details will not be in alignment with one's expectation. Kindly do the required research. Respect to all the bosses in the house that are providing online and offline support to us (Me ) all. God bless |

In a big twist of events, Kiel University just sent me my temporary admission document. I am actually a bit surprised considering the fact that the school was the last one I applied to. Digital Communications. I have until June 12 to accept and get my original admission document sent to me. Now to the bosses in house, what are your opinions about Kiel University, the city and options for a family (immediate or later). I still await Offenburg, Hamburg and FAU..... Is there a possibility of differing of admission by 1year? Reason is I just changed jobs and may like to gain a few experience in this new role before exiting........but leaving is not a problem if there is no other option. Thanks for the congratulations in advance.... |

Obiwannn: I did send the docs from Lagos and followed EKE's advice through and through. The issues therein are that unlike regular couriers that begin to transit the docs by the next day, Nipost may take an extra 3days before it leaves naija. You can track regular couriers to see the journey made so far but with Nipost you can only hope and pray as you can't track your package. EKE and co may have chosen very responsive schools who send feedback upon receiving the document unlike most who take forever to notify you or update the application portal to show they have received the docs in good time. All in all, my opinion is that if you have got the cash kindly send via courier. You end up sleeping better at night! |

Obiwannn: Please and please, do not use Nipost unless u have a minimum of one month to your deadline because they will end up giving you high Bp. If you have the money for proper couriers then by all means go for them. Safe and expedient option. |

Arnoldo: You are most welcome. We are all here to help eachother. Notarization at the Ikeja High Court, Lagos cost me between 200naira and 250naira per page depending on the negotiations. Documents to be notarized depends on the school's requirements but in my case i notarized just my BSc Certificate and Transcripts If the school explicitly states that they only accept transcripts directly from your school then you have no choice but to have your school send it directly. In my experience, most schools will accept notarized copies. Using Registered Nipost Mail cost me less than 500naira to South korea P.S: Had to confirm the matriculation fee because of the instability of our currency and discovered that it is about 120-130k now. it is a one time fee and still a lot better than paying $12k. Besides, GIST will refund your one way flight bill upon landing and registration so it kind of covers for the matriculation fee. |

Arnoldo: I hail all the bosses in the house most especially acadollar. @Arnold: The first question is what program are you looking at? BSc,MSc or P.Hd? As far as i know, in GIST if admitted as an MSc student you automatically qualify for free tuition, monthly stipend amongst other things. If your CGPA is over 3.0 or 3.5 after the first semester, you can get additional scholarship. I have just completed my application process with GIST and gotten the final receipt number so awaiting application decision so I can give a few insights to the process for GIST as i have been following the school since 2008 while in school. I simply got my school to send my transcript to my office saying it is for employment purposes and paid for courier to make it faster. I then made copies, notarized the copies at the ikeja high court and sent to all the schools i applied to. Please do not use EMS for anything ooo. Instead use the regular Nipost mail or worse case scenario, the nipost registered mail (better to use the nipost office at international airports like MMIA in lagos arrival lounge). My Nipost registered mail to GIST took about 3 weeks to get there and the school informed me when they got it. It is actually required to write TOEFL so you really cant hide from that. Some schools actually request for a letter from your school's HOD as cover for your ability in english but better to confirm the exact requirements before you send your documents. GIST also has a matriculation fee of an equivalent of 70k -80k naira which can be waived if you get a letter from your HOD supporting the waiver and you also write an essay explaining why you should be considered for the waiver (I accepted to pay the waiver (even after they mailed me to confirm) because i hope that will allow them evaluate my credentials objectively without the bias of someone coming to depend completely on their opportunities. at least that is how i look at it for now and the money isn't that much compared to paying $12k ) I hope I have thrown some light on some of your questions. All the best in your endeavors. @Acadollar: As you already know (from my comments above), I am looking at attending GIST for my M.Sc only (I no get time for P.Hd o) and would like to know what the economy is like in Cheomdan, Oryong-Dong Buk-Gu,Gwangju Area for an ICT person like me. it would indeed be helpful if you can enlighten me on what is obtainable in this area for computer networks and IT professionals in general after M.Sc programs 2 Likes 1 Share |

Eke40seven: Eke40SEVEN: you are the bomb mehn. I actually stumbled on this website while trying to track all my packages but it didn't provide what I needed back then but i gave it a try now and viola, it showed that my document (sent through EMS oooo, may i never have cause to use them again) was delivered exactly 3weeks from the day I sent it! This was a document due for March 15th only for them to get it on March 27th! How do I sue EMS for this nonsense? No wonder my portal for the school keeps saying my documents have not been completely checked. And to think I paid about 10k for this crappy service when i could have done Fedex or DHL easily. It also only shows tracking details for packages sent via EMS because it gave no results for all my Nipost registered mails. |

Williamso: There is very little I can do about it as all documents have been sent. I can only hope that they deliver pronto and I do not end up missing any deadline. I refresh my application status pages of all schools i applied to with the hope that they update my profile as having submitted my documents. Technical University of Munich has an update on my profile that is not exactly clear " The application documents have been sent by post but they have not been completely checked yet." I am not sure how I should interpret this though but I think time will clear things up |

crowns2: I had my documents certified and sealed at the ikeja high court. They stamped and sealed all the pages I asked them to since i paid per page stamped and sealed. If you are in lagos, you can go to ikeja high court or lagos island high court in igbosere. My applications were to institutions directly so I am not exactly sure how Uniassist handles such. Hopefully, our ogas in the house will give a concise response to your questions P.S: @Eke40Seven, this Nipost people can give person hypertension ooo. None of the schools in germany have updated my online profile as having received my posted documents and all i get from the tracking page of Nipost and even EMS is that package is in the bag.....since March 6th ooo while i had a deadline for TUM for 15th March (hence the EMS as a courier option). Not one of them has confirmed receipt and they are saying we should refrain from queries. ok ooo. Got good news about the registered post though as one of the institutions i applied to in Asia acknowledged receipt of my package 2days ago. I will expect that posts going to europe will be much faster than asia so I guess I shoud keep playing the waiting game. How long does it take ETS to deliver TOEFL results to institutions? According to my ETS order page, they claim the score reports were processed for delivery on 3rd February and the Asian institution is saying they are yet to get it! This is the second time they are checking for me. I had to send them the order page so they see the date and the institution code as indicated by ETS. I did ensure i added the student copy of the result to all my applications as I did sense something like this might happen and just hope if push comes to shove and it is the official score report that might stand in the way, the included score report might allow some kind of grace in the matter. So the waiting begins. |
