Everyone knows that from Bender LGA going to Ohafia, Arochukwu, Abia state have large square kilometers of various farm fields.

I wonder why the state haven't started developing this sector of agriculture since.
Now that we are ready to develop it,won't you rather join hands and move it forward?

One more thing_ Abia government is also planing to embark upon cowpea I.e beans production as various researches conducted in University of Agriculture Umudike over the years have proved that Beans can thrive well in this part of the country. Our major challenge now is land as the University community there in Ikwuano is fast growing out of proportion, but we are looking at test running it at Isialangwa and Obingwa area of the state where we have enough land for agriculture.

Abia bans revenue agents from 2017

Abia State Government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure increase in her internally generated revenue from the 2017 fiscal year.

To this effect, the state has banned the use of agents as revenue collectors in the state in 2017.

A statement signed by the State's Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, who is also the Chairman of the State's Internally Generated Revenue Council reads:

"This is to inform all concerned that, the IGR Policy of the state did not provide for appointment of revenue agents.

"MDAs are by this notice directed not to appoint any agent for the year 2017, as Abia State Government will not be held liable for any contravention.

"All Revenue matters must be directed to the IGR council. Please be guided."

Abians, particularly residents of Abia and Umuahia, are therefore requested to avoid paying any revenue agent or "consultant" who claims to be acting on behalf of the state from the fiscal year 2017 and going forward.

Quite commendable. This is the Igbo spirit of old which the Nigerian arrangements since after the war has been killing gradually but steadily.
Reactivating the Igbo progressive spirit of the past would really help Igboland and our country. I am going to join this noble association just as I pray that Igbo's should also form association of like minds that will not be hijacked by any politician.

The act by Ngwa patriots is a wake up call for all Abians and Igbo ppl to resurrect the old Community development stragtegy that was used to develop d Eastern region. The problem is dat in d past palm oil was communally used to send d educated ones abroad for studies but when they got there they forgot d ppl and faced their families. When they were approached by d ppl for assistance they backed at the ppl and said they can pay all the money provided for their education. The villagers went to their respectives houses to fend for their families.Ngwa patriot more greese to ur grace.
Well said

Well, thank you very much. But I just did go through your topics now and I didnt see anyone that talked about agricultural 'news' being embarked upon by Abia state government, maybe you can help me posts those topics. Moreover, even if there is, it shouldn't be about 'news' but action. States like Anambra, Kebbi, Ebonyi, etc are not talking about agric news but their works in agriculture is highly conspicuous by all. Though I still believe so much in this administration.
I hope this satisfy you.

The only serious work that needs to be done is a big underground pipe from point A(Faulks road) to Point B(Aba river) as shown in the attached map.

This will curb the flooding we usually experience. Any governor that can't achieve that is a mediocre.
